Server :: Server Not Starting Up. Xfs Filesystem ?

I have an HP proliant server n i am new to linux the problem i am facing is that when i start the system it turns ON normally but after the linux starting up options like when we select whether to start it normally or in failsafe mode after selecting one option out of the two it comes up with following messages on the screen and get stuck over there.

When I start the vncserver process, I get a message saying "Starting VNC server: no displays configured." I edited the /root/.vnc/xstartup file and changed twm & to say "gnome-session &" (Without quotes). Not sure why I am still seeing this error. It's CentOS 5.4.

I have an XFS filesystem (not my root filesystem) that is not mounting.
We had a power failure over the weekend. All but one of our XFS mounts is comming up. Its a large mount (2TB) and I am not seeing errors per se...
But after attempting to mount it, it has been 4 hours and all we see in either dmesg output or in the messages file from the kernel is:
Our mount process is dead and I don't see any disk i/o going on. Am I missing something here on this?
I rebooted the box once earlier and was able mount read-only with norecovery...
I tried xfs_check and it also produced a dead "xfs_df -i -p xfs_check -c check /dev/sdd1"

I have recently purchase a Dyxel DMA-1100p and have had a great success rate using the native MS windows software to broadcast my media files from the server to the TV that the DMA is connected to. I have install ushare on Fedora 12 and have not had much luck streaming media to the TV with it.
I have all the ports outlined in [URL] set to forward to the DMA, when accessing the server menu of the DMA "Fedora" shows in the server list but cannot be access. I either receive "starting server" or "Not authorized to browse this server" I have tried with router setting for UPNP enabled and disabled without any luck.

Ah, the most dreaded SVN error of them all. It's not even showing up in my Apache logs, either, just on trying to commit.
When I try to add a file to the repository via the following command, I get the error:

It seems that this error only shows up when I try to add a file to the repo, not when I try to update. I've already run chmod +rwx -R repository, so it should have all of the permissions it could possibly need. The only thing I don't know about is adding it to a group. I don't think my server has an apache group, so I wouldn't know where to start and what to do with that.
This problem happens from time to time, but I can't seem to shake it this time. I'm running SVN over HTTPS on Apache 2.x.

I'm running Linux Suse 11.2.When I start the ms vpn server the following error occurs:starting ms vpn server pptpdFATAL: could not load /lib/modules/2.6.31.6-0.1-desktop/modules.depWhen i go in to that directory, the directory doesn't exist. But there is only one directory called 2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop hen i copy and change de directory to 2.6.31.6-0.1-desktop it doesn't work But something is strange... I have an other server (virtual) and the vpn server works and the same directory 2.6.31.6-0.1-desktop doesn't exist.

we have a data transfer network drive, shared via nfs and samba.But now I got the special demand to make any of the files read and wirteable, regardsless of the permissions they had before.With acl I get the right permissions (via default values) but the standard unix permissions overwrite this. e.g. when I have 644, it does not care that the group has write permissions)Does someone have an idea (except chmod via cronjob )

I'm running CentOS 4.3 on a VM which is an application server for Quinstreet. trouble is when i keep coming in during the mornings it seems to keep making this root filesystem read only. There is no pattern for this and neither is it clear in the messages log why this keeps happening.

I consider myself a linux noob. The thing about this is, I have played around with various distros of linux over many years. Eventually I get frustrated at how ridiculous something as simple as text editing can be. I'm having a problem starting mysql. I have already ran the install script afer downloading mysql community server from yast.
what I need to do to start the server. I tried to issue rcmysql start, but it says "The absolute path to 'rcmysql' is 'usr/sbin/rcmysql' so running it may require superuser privileges. So i say SUDO rcmysql, enter password and again same message.

how can I stop resyncing permenently & how can I check whether the normal sata HDDs can support RAID before/after buying HDDs. Because on every saturday or sunday resync is starting itself even there is no entry about resncing in crontab. But if I run "cat /proc/mdstat" it is showing RAID1 is perfect. see the below output

I have a service I've made an init script for, and it's added to chkconfig, which shows it "on" in all the correct runlevels. When I start or stop this service using the "service" command all is fine, but it does not start on it's own at bootup. I am currently at a loss to determine why it is not starting. What is the recommended filesystem to use when creating a home server/nas?
I'd be sharing files using SAMBA, DLNA Server or some sort of streaming. I'll have two win7 laptops, 2 ubuntu desktops and ps3 accessing the files. Most of the time the server will just 75% read from 25% writing.
Would ext4 be an ideal?
