I have a database called 'gaming' and with in that database there are several tables and data. I was asked to find a module called 'ako ldap' and disable it (setting it from 1 to 0). My question is how in MySQL do I search for a string if I don't even know what table to search in? I know how to search using the 'select' statement as long as I know where the table data is. In this case I only know which database but nothing more except what I am looking for.
I want set up VPN on my VPS but when i try to turn on tun/tap i see:
:/lib/modules# modprobe tun FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.18-194.17.1.el5.028stab070.7PAE/modules.dep: No such file or directory os : debian 5 (folder lib/modules is empty)
If there is a way in autofs5 to search for a key in multiple OU's? I am migrating our existing NIS infrastructure to LDAP. Over the years the NIS environment has evolved (not necessarily for the better). I have a back end database and each NIS master extracts specific elements from the DB to create the NIS maps.
On my Linux servers I use a program map that prgramatically searches multiple NIS maps. On Solaris I have an auto.home file that will search auto_home and auto_service ( Home has all home directories associated with people (i.e., in the passwd file) auto_service contain directories that are accessed as /home/.... but are not tied to a user account.
I also have regional data and unfortunately, my back end storage is not consistant so /apps/perl in one region will resolve to regionA:/path1/path2/perl and in another region it may resolve to regionB:/path33/path2/perl. Can this be done?
I've been trying to load my pcmcia network card driver "xirc2ps_cs" at startup with no success. I have added "modprobe xirc2ps_cs" to the rc.modules file but it doesn't load at startup. Curiously, though, if I execute rc.modules AFTER the machine has booted it will load the modules just fine. Just not during the boot up process. Thinking that hotstart might have been causing problems I've disabled hotstart (chmod -x) temporarilly to remove it from the picture, but there was no change.
To make my problem simple to understand I've attached a picture. Basically, in the Webmin>Apache configuration page, where I used to also enable/disable the modules Apache was using (on Ubuntu 8.04) I've noticed now that the option to configure the modules is no more (on Centos 5). So, I'd like to disable and enable some modules but can't, like the mod_python for example which gives me hundreds of errors in the Apache's logs, but cannot.
how to view the Apache modules again in Webmin?
just noticed can't attach images... here's the link to the picture: [URL]
I'm under CentOS 5.2 with PHP 5.2.10 I compiled PHP from Source with ./configure --with-config-file-scan-dir=/etc/php.d but PHP doesn't start modules A PHPInfo says:
Scan this dir for additional .ini files (none) additional .ini files parsed (none)
routes are correctly setted and the user have permissions for read the directory, just to be sure i changed the CHMOD to 777 but nothing.
Tonight I installed ubuntu 10.10 (32 bit) on an external usb harddrive with a dvd I burned and I used my older desktop. I disconnected all internal and external drives first so everything had to be put on the usb drive I selected (only option available). I used the option to load extra software, use the entire hard drive, and let the software do it's thing. I basically had no options where to put things and it didn't have much choice.
When I boot the usb drive on my laptop (win 7 64 bit) by telling the bios to boot to it first... I get an error: modprobe: FATAL Could not load /lib/modules 2.6.35-22 generic modules No such file or directory. This message appears twice and then it does boot into ubuntu and seems to work fine. I'm new to this OS so that is an uneducated guess but the things I have done seem to be working. So exactly what is this error referring too? Is there a way to fix the problem or do I just ignore it.
I'm update Python , but founde problem root@server [~]# yum update There was a problem importing one of the Python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: No module named yum
Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly. It's possible that the above module doesn't match the current version of Python, which is: 2.6.7 (r267:88850, Jun 7 2011, 12:25:26) [GCC 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-50)] If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to the yum faq at: [URL]...
I've been playing with some intel server board and they provide a type of fakeraid which is called Embedded Server Raid Technology 2. Since Intel officially support RHEL and SLES on their servers, they provide drivers/modules for this fake raid (which supports raid 0, 1, 5 and 10). I have installed RHEL before on these severs and redhat's installer has the ability to load additional modules (via a boot command linux dd).
While intel doesn't provide the modules for other operating systems, they provide a library where people can build their own module for their kernel. I managed to build this module called 'megasr' (for now I've built it for kernel 2.6.32-24-generic which is my testbed at the moment but I would eventually build it for box i386 and amd64 for both server and desktop versions) and load it on a system which is installed on a single drive.
We are able to load it successfully and see the raid 5 as a single volume and access it (partition, format and copy data to it) and all its functions (work in degraded mode, rebuild, etc) work fine but my main goal is to actually install such volume as my main boot volume (similar to how its possible with RHEL or SLES). Is this possible? Load additional modules during the installation that will be present after the installation is finished?
I use Debian 5.0.6 32-bit through VMware workstation installed on my Windows Server 2003. I just simply installed it from CD-1 and I use Directadmin on that.
I need a lot of iptables commands for blocking but I keep getting missing module errors on that one, I did lsmod | grep -i iptables to see there are no modules. It should have been installed by the disc image but I don't know why it didn't. So I now want to know how to get those modules required by iptables.
what is happening on my Centos virtual server (ps I'm having a great time re-learning Linux after a large gap and usually try and find out myself but this has me confused) First thing I did was install Tomcat and try and change the port to 80 using iptables -nat and it complained a kernel module was missing. Instead setup Apache to redirect requests so that's now working I then tried to install CSF firewall and the validation perl script returned fatal errors so I assumed OK my virtual server Kernel is restricted and used denyhosts instead which is working great
Here's the confusion.. I later retried the csftest script and it now works including all the iptables and nat stuff that fataled before. I've not rebooted or changed anything except run denyhosts and the postgres daemon + ended a few daemons that I didn't need (eg pickup, tlsmgr, courier, postfix, qmgr, saslauthd) Running lsmod returns nothing and /proc/modules is zero bytes so I'm not able to tell what is loaded? I'm tempted to try and get Tomcat redirecting via iptables and see what happens but if it works I don't like that something seems to have changed.. before I ran it direct as root now I'm SU into root from another login
this might not be a Centos related issue, but since I'm using Centos I guess it doesn't hurt to ask; I've used Ubuntu before and haven't encountered this. So, I've just installed Centos and Webmin and now I'm trying to configure the server. Problem is that on the Apache configuration page I don't have the option (should be there) to configure the Apache modules. I've attached a file to show where the modules option should (as before) appeared.
I am administrating a server with CentOS installed. It came with qmail and courier-imap preinstalled, and Plesk.I need to manually add email accounts outside of Plesk, because my 1-domain Plesk license only allows the creation of one email address (yes, it sucks).
When I say add email account I mean creating a new email address, have email for that address be stored in its maildir, and have a corresponding imap (and hipefully also pop3) account that will be able to read that mail. All this with virtual domains.I've already found out how to create the new email addresses for qmail, so that email for the new email address is being delivered correctly. Now I need to create the imap/pop3 accounts for courier.
For the qmail part, I create a folder in in /var/qmail/mailnames/virtualdomain.org/username and a maildir called Maildir inside it. This is how the first mail address was created by Plesk and i'd like to maintain the same structure. As I've said, the qmail part is already working, I need to get the courier-imap part to work. Ideally, it should accept login with both short (i.e. myuser) and long (i.e. myuser@virtualdomain.org) user names.
Currently the only authentication module that is enabled in courier-imap is authpsa, which is Plesk's authentication module.in order to add more authentication modules, do I just need to add them to the authentication module list in /etc/courierimap/imapd, or do I need to reinstall courier-imap with support for such authentication modules? I thought I would only need to add them to the list, but I've noticed that the /usr/lib/courier-imap/authlib/ folder only contains a binary called "authpsa". Does that mean that other authentication modules are not even installed? If so, can I install them without reinstalling courier?
The second question is, what would be the most recommended authentication module that would make it easiest to create new email addresses/accounts from the command line? I need to be able to write a shell scripts capable of creating a new email address with all that is needed, and I'd like to keep this script as simple as possible, so for example I'd avoid mysql-based authentication as it sounds rather complicated. And the last question is, if I do need to reinstall courier-imap, how can I install a package without recompiling it? Will my one existing mailbox keep working?
I am trying to setup Slacware 13.1 x86_64 to a encrypted partition. I used the README_CRYPT.TXT howto : [URL] At the step when I create an initrd.gz I get this error: Quote: ERROR: No /lib/modules/2.6.33.4-smp kernel modules tree found for kernel "2.6.33.4-smp"
I tried to look into the directory and there was only modules under 2.6.44.3. So I tried to change the command into: Quote: mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.33.4 -m ext3 -f ext3 -r cryptroot -C /dev/sda2
This command was successful, but I don't know if this is alright. I made the changes in lilo.conf, add initrd = initrd.gz. This is all on unencrypted /boot partition. The boot=/dev/sda1 I also set for the unencrypted boot partition. When I boot the system I get a kernel panic:
I was trying to install VirtualBox through the YaST > Software Management but it is not working, someone in the forum told me that I have to download the OSE version and do it manual way. Finally I am able to start up VB but not able to use the network connection. Thus I am trying to do this:
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup. I get this error:
[code]...
When I type dmesg, it shows me a bunch of info which I don't know what should look for. When I type modprobe vboxnetflt, I get the error: FATAL: Error inserting vboxnetflt (/lib/modules/2.6.37.1-1.2-default/updates/vboxnetflt.ko): Invalid module format. what should I do in order to get my VB to be able to connect to the internet?
Sometimes I have problems with modules not loaded properly /etc/rc.d/rc.modules, is it recommended to add codes to load modules in other scripts in /etc/rc.d/.
I use RedHat Linux 5. I install the latest Apache Httpd, 2.2.3. As I start the Httpd I got followings:
Code: Starting httpd: httpd: Syntax error on line 210 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/www.pb-versicherung.de-test.conf: Cannot load /etc/httpd
I'm trying to install the 32bit 10.04 server to an atom machine from a CD burned with ubuntu-10.04-server-i386.iso. The installer is presenting me with the:"No kernel modules were found" ..error message. Is the atom cpu and chipsets supported by the 32bit server installer?
I was just trying to search for something in the yum gui and got the following error...Anyone else getting this?
Code: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/PackageKit/helpers/yum/yumBackend.py", line 391, in _do_search for (pkg, inst) in res: ValueError: too many values to unpack
Two nights ago I was trying to diagnose what was wrong with my internet connection. I couldn't get web pages to load, IRC and ssh weren't connecting, and email wasn't downloading (I still use POP3). I didn't know what to use to check my internet connection. I did a ping, but I didn't know how to interpret the results. So without the internet, I was totally blind.
Are there documents anywhere which install with Debian which I can search offline when my internet connection dies?
been searching for days now for a crossword app for Fedora... Im finding it extremely hard to believe that such app doesnt exist? Yet, my searching hasnt yielded anything so far. Is there nothing in the repo?
I am searching for a usefull PasswordManager for Opensuse 11.4. All I found till here are Apps that wont run. I found: Password Gorilla (wont run) KeePassX (I am not even able to install) Password Dragon (is a Java App, that is just launchable via Terminal and I dont know how secure it is).
I'm currently trying to design a small, simple enough shell program for area codes. I have a list of area codes in a database, and I am trying to write a program that will have a user input an area code, and then have the program print out information that immediately follows that area code in my database. I assume I need to use a find or locate command, but I'm not sure if I should be searching for a string or the number itself. The number could possibly occur at some other point in the file, though the way I have the file set up it only occurs once at the newline.
what function I should use and how I should go about it? As is I only have the absolute bare-bones beginning of having an echo for the prompt to input an area-code, and the read once it's input. Without the find I'm not sure how much farther I can get. Also, would it make it easier if I added some character such as a ! to the end of the number at the newline to make it easier to search for? With a macro that would be easy enough to do.
