I put my own icon file into /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/mimetypes/text-x-extension-eml.png and run cmd gtk-upgrade-icon-cache. The eml files on Desktop will display as I want on SLED10+SP2/SP3. But failed on SLED11, it just looks like a plain text file !
Is it OS limitation or what I am doing wrong on SLED11 ?
I have a laptop HP 4520s on which was installed SLED11. I deleted it and installed Ubuntu. Now I want it back. When I install itfrom recovery DVD, will I have 2 year support?

My problem is that icon is not working in menu! I can find my program in Utilities->Time->ETM Manager and this is what I wanted, but there is no icon for the program.
It starts working if I specify absolute path in etmmanager.desktop file like

About my system - Opensuse 11.1 KDE 4.2
I created a custom launcher for 2 wine programs on my desktop and dragged them to my launcher to add them. They were both using the default cup of wine icon.The first one kept this icon, the second one changed to the default custom launcher icon for gnome. I have since changed them to the games real icons but they aren't changing in the launcher even after removing and re-adding it to the launcher.So 2 things are happening here, it seems the launcher is unable to use the same icon multiple times, and the launcher is "remembering" the icon's somewhere separatly from what the custom launcher is saying the icon should be.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNew Suse 11.3 installation with Gnome desktop. Added K3B using Yast2, and after completing the install of K3B, there is no icon for K3B! Instead there is an "X" and the text for K3B in it.From the main menu -> more applications -> multimedia, is where the K3B icon is.Yast2 is supposed to install any dependencies needed or warn if it can not find any missing dependencies. What is missing, or is it a permission problem? All the other application icons seem fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Hp Touchsmart Tx2 with AMD processor and ATi graphics. I installed Ubuntu 10.10 (64 bit) last night for the second time, the first time i had this problem so i thought maybe another download and another install would help, and i have dual boot setup with windows vista on the other partition. So the install went fine but when i am at the home screen in Ubuntu and i click something like the wireless icon at the top, or the time at the top, or any of those icons the dropdown menu is displayed at a 45 degree angle or something.
Also the drop down menus in firefox will do it too, i'm sure others will as well. It is really wierd and i already installed the flxgr Ati driver (i think thats what its called) via the additional drivers application. Also when i open the terminal it is displayed at this same angle. The outline is perfect put the content inside is skewed. Also I should mention overall its just slow and laggy and the wifi cuts in and out. I took some pictures with my camera cause when i took a screen shot the menu for that was slanted and i couldn't see what the options were.
My Suse 11.4 wired network is not displayed in the bottom panel inside of my networkmanager. I can connect to the internet It just shows a red box with a white x inside near my clock is there anyway to get this working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe use SLED10.1 as the base O/S for our Point-of-sale registers and we have run into the need for these registers to play .mov files that are sent down from the corporate office. The base installed KAFFEINE or REALPLAYER won't play those extensions. Can anyone recommend a good .mov player that doesn't require the libdvdcss libraries. (We can't use those for legal reasons). I tried downloading the latest XINE but got lost in RPM-hell and finally gave up.

After installing SUSE 11.1 and updating it through the update icon in the status bar, I ended up with a complete update except for the update icon in the status bar now depicting a downward arrow. This equates to my not wanting to download a update/patch/whatever of a "Microsoft font file"!
However, there is no way to delete this option that I do not want. How do I get rid of the MS font update and bring the OS/system back to the Gecko symbol associated with taking care (updating) of updating my system without a thing from MS? To those who are bound to ask, I want nothing to do with MS, this should be sufficient.
I have my original test version of sled11 which I installed when it was first released. I managed to install the required files for multimedia formats and everything works fine. The system has updated as updates have been released via the evaluation update code quite happily. I liked it and decided to get a sled11 license and install on my main workstation. About a month has passed since the test install and my fresh licensed install and I accepted all the updates on install. When I install the multimedia apps, only kaffeine will read multimedia dvds. Nautilus, brasero and totem say it is a restricted format and refuse to read it. What to look for?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've installed Office 2007 under wine, and would like to add launchers for Word, Excel, etc to the Unity launcher bar.
So, I've created a launcher on the Desktop that will run Word with wine. I've changed the icon to the Word Icon and everything works great from the desktop. If I drag that launcher to the Unity bar, it adds it, but changes the icon to the springboard default icon that new launchers use. Please see attached picture.
As a side note, I am really starting to like Unity (puts on flamesuit), but it seems very easy to break the install of 11.04. I've had to reinstall 4 times now.
Is anyone else seeing the default icon in GNOME Shell instead of the usual Firefox icon? I am talking about the default icon that looks like a purple diamond.

The dock displays all apps' icons correctly though.The issue does not occur exclusively to Application Switcher (Alt+Tab), it also occurs with Scale (Super+W), Shift Switcher (Super+Tab).
