I am writing a server which uses edge-triggered epoll. When the server calls accept(), it just extracts the first connection in the pending queue. If there are more connections that are waiting, can we make the server accept all the pending connections? I wrote a loop like the following:

Doesn't seem to work. A related question, more a clarification, is as follows. My understanding was that a connect() at the client returns only when accept() in the server returns. Clearly, I was incorrect. Even with no accept() call in the server, my client was able to connect and send data. Am I getting this right?

I wrote a code in C to connect to MySQL by using mysql_real_connect function but I recieved error "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)" (by using mysql_error function).
I also did the following things: in mysql I typed 'SHOW VARIABLES LIKE '%SOCKET%'', it returned /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock I typed 'mysql_config --socket' in shell, it returned /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock I modified /etc/my.cnf file

I have 4 Dell R200's with Seagate 2x250Gb drives running software raid on CentOS 5.2 kernal 2.6.18-92.1.13.el5. They all get these errors 5-10 times a day and when the errors occure the servers apear to freeze and drop all network connections, very frustrating. I've updated to smartmontools 1:5.38-2.el5 and confirmed with Seagate that I have the latest drive firmware, and am now at a loss as to how to fix this. All of the systems report the problem only on sda not sdb.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI setup mysql v5 on centos, follow all the instruction i was able to google for to enable remote access, I am able to log in to -h localhost and -h (external IP address) from same server, I am able to telnet to 3306 using localhost and external ip address, BUT when I try to connect from deferent server i get host unreachable error H3000 (113) and telnet also is not able to connect via port 3306 I covered all the bases but stii no luck. same setup works for slackware no problem and there is no issue with client.

I've been attempting to set up a LAMP for local web development, which meant installing mysql-server. But now have a problem when trying to run mysql, I get:-

When trying to downgrade mysql-server I saw that there are dependency problems between the various modules (but can't recall which). But whichever route I truied the results are always the same.
Thought about trying XAMPP but I note that even has it's problems, is there any way I can get a lamp set up on FC14, or must I give it up as a bad job.
