View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out how to access the local part and the domain part of an email address in postfix's main.cf. For example, myname@mydomain.net has myname as the local part and mydomain.net as the domain part.I get the whole email address with %s. I want to speed up the lookups by writing better database queries.I've had no luck finding this in the otherwise well documented postfix.

Opensuse Gnome 11.1 on Lenovo S10e Netbook!
opensuse v11.3
linux 2.6.34.7-0.3-desktop x86_64
The most recent update that produced the kernel version above is bit of a disaster for me. The open source radeon driver does not work with VirtualBox (it crashes at startup), and the ATI fglrx driver either builds without acceleration (or the X server loads it that way?) or fails to build.
Is there a way to undo some (or all, if necessary) of the update?
I'm using the latest version of SUSE with GNOME 2.32.1. My problem is that a portion of the upper left area of my desktop does not respond to the mouse. That is: if any given application is running and I click on this area of the desktop, it doesn't respond to the clicks. I first realized this using tabs in firefox, then I noticed I couldn't open menus, but I could use the search bar to the right. I attach a link with the image, showing a red rectangle marking the roughly the area I cannot click.

View 6 Replies View Relatedthe normal auto updater ran and installed a new kernel for security vulnerability and it was a .pae version. So after restart I now have 4 options on the boot screen, which includes the normal "SUSE" and a 'SUSE pae" version. defaulted to the new pae version and booted up. I got the video definition not found and had to enter a value manually. The system comes up but not into x system. It gives me a login prompt and startx yields a "terminal not found." Ran SaX2 and startx now works. Unfortunately my KDE desktop is messed up now. There are none of the normal "taskbar" at boot up started processes there. So what should I have done? how do I get my system back to normal and roll out the new kernel and all these changes?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed openSUSE dual-boot with windows. Wireless works fine on windows. Only ethernet works on openSUSE. At first, it couldn't even find my wireless network. With my friend's help we experimented and tried everything to find the driver for my broadcam4312 driver.
Later, my friend some update from the official openSUSE peeps... Then, the wireless could my network. I entered in my password and then hoped for the best but then it got stuck on the Obtaining IP Adress part. I know I got the rite password.
Attempting install of 11.3 on previous 11.2 dual windows boot box. I want to format the Linux parts including /Home and retain the Win / NTFS part. (dual boot) Peculiar behavior of install DVD. Here is fdisk -l that clearly indicates a 500 GB HD and the Win partition, extended partition and the 3 basic Linux partitions and they seem okay in total.
Linux-mocx:/ # fdisk -l

I aborted the installation. What could possibly cause the 11.2 parts and bootloader to get this wacked up ? Outside of some sound issues the 11.2 install works okay for the most part. No crashing or lockups. Really want to get up to 11.3. though. I obviously have some work to do with 35 GB of missing space on the HD and Grub living someplace on the wrong side of the river. Suggestions and a pointer or two would be most welcome guys. ( I really don't want the pain of installing that other OP system or I'd reformat and reinstall nice and clean.) Do I need to repartition, change mount points and reinstall Grub maybe.

The most important one for me is RSS Now, indeed there is no RSS plasmoid at all offered anymore. Downloading new plasmoids doesn't offer anything, and I can't find it on kde-looks either. I installed openSUSE a couple of weeks ago but didn't use it until 2 days ago. It was the latest version when I installed it.To my surprise there wasn't a gcc or pppoe installed. Or at least there wasn't a command line begging with ppp.I tried to install them both with rpms. I think I got them both, just they don't work very well. In particular rp-pppoe doesn't work at all. It says that there's no modem on eth0, which is very true there's only a eth cable. gcc seems to work but I'm not sure I installed all the dependencies.I can't use yast because of lack of internet. I have to reboot to windows and download rpms. Can you give me a work around? At least for the pppoe then it might fix itself. Can I have some EXACT links to rpms or another solution?

I run a molecular biology lab and we like to run the "Molecule" GL screensaver in order to look cool (I know it doesn't actually save screens, and it wastes energy, but you know..). I'm about to install Opensuse 11.3 on all 24 of our laptops and I find that the number of GL screensavers installed as standard is greatly reduced from previous Opensuse releases. Any idea where I can get the "Molecule" and other screensavers?
I am running KDE and have the following relevant packages installed:
kdeartwork4-screensaver
xscreensaver
xscreensaver-data
xscreensaver-data-extra
gnome-screensaver
gnome-screensaver-extra
This apparently gives me just 8 GL screensavers - there used to be a great many more?
A couple of weeks ago I installed openSUSE 11.3/KDE 4.4.4 over openSUSE 11.0/KDE 3.5. It went well except for what turned out to be a glitch with the KDE default Plasma Desktop Workspace, which prevented the system from shutting down (the screen would go blank and then nothing would happen). Changing the Activity in the Desktop Settings to Folder View got rid of the glitch, returning everything to normal.
The printer icon/widget is now a question mark "?." I can't say for certain when this happened.Clicking on the widget produces the message, "KDEint could not launch 'opt/kde3/bin/startprint'."The command for the widget is 'opt/kde3/bin/startprint %U'.The file opt/kde3/bin/startprint no longer exists. What additional information, if any, might be needed, and what can be done to get this widget working again?
On openSUSE 11.3 I was using remmina as a replacement for tsclient. After upgrading to openSUSE 11.4 (Did a complete new install) Remmina only seems to support SSH connections. All other protocols like RDP, NX and VNC are missing. I got FreeRDP and rdesktop etc. Installed and can connect to RDP sessions from the terminal.
