View 9 RepliesI am with Ubuntu 11.04 32Bit edition and I use (and love!) FileZilla. I just run the update procedure and it says there's out the new v3.5.0 but if I try to get it via Software Update it doesn't show results. How do I do to add it via Package Manager? There are some Official Beta/Nightly repositories can I add?
Another question... I'm looking for a powerful screengrabber, SnagIT like, there are any advanced tool on Linux? I tried running SnagIT via WINE but it doesn't work.
How do i roll back firefox5beta to firefox4 and keep updating to the latest stable releases w/out upgrading to beta? The only extension that isn't working is FEBE which is incompatible w/ firefox5beta (profile, extension and preference backup). Have to use FEBE beta7 under Firefox4 so I don't think a compatible release for Firefox5beta is going to come out any time soon.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running Suse 11.1 64bit, with KDE, recently I received a pop up on my screen, "something about update problems", I used Yast 2 and selected online Update and it couldn't find updates for Nvidia and froze at that point. I dis-enabled that repository and refreshed all of the remaining Repositories individually and it seemed to work. I then went to the repositories listing and selected "Add" and selected "community" repositories and received the following: WARNING Unable to download list of repositories or no repositories defined. What is my problem? How do I acquire the list of community repositories? I can live with out the Nvidia repository for now but would eventually like to get it back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you install the Firefox 4 beta in Ubuntu? I'm still trying to understand how to install files that come downloaded in a .tar.bz2 type file. I unpacked this package, but don't understand what to do with it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo i have installed FireFox 4 Beta (..some reason its called Minefield 4.0 Browser??) on ubuntu 10.04 - now I have recently installed it onto my Windows machine about a week ago and I am inlove with it over Chrome, which is why I made the switch for my Ubuntu machine aswell - but I am wondering..
1) Why does it look like Firefox 3?? On windows its a completely new layout, design, and feel.. but on Ubuntu it looks and acts just like regular Firefox 3.
2) Whats with the name difference? When I pull up my browswer data online it says its Mozilla 5.0, but just dont understand?
3) Some javascript/jquery does not work anymore?
Is there something that I have done wrong, or installed the wrong package? I tried to download the file from firefox's website directly (a .tar.bz2 file) but could not figure out how to install it [i am an ubuntu newbie], so I went into terminal and installed it with the package manager with the following command(s):
Code:
sudo apt-get remove firefox
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get autoclean
[Code]....
now this might be more of a firefox question, but I am sure there are some Ubuntu users using the 4.0 beta w/ HTML5, WebGL and other new features
I am running Suse 11.1.I do the following:
Click on Software Repositories
Click Add
Click Community Repositories
Click Next.
I receive an error, "Unable to download list of Repositories or no repositories defined."
in the /etc/YaST2/control.xml the external repository is:download.opensuse.org/YaST/Repos/openSUSE_111_Servers.xml
Is there a repo that I can add to get firefox 3.6 beta? I am on Fedora 11.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo far aside from the toolbar customizations not being stored in FF4.0b7, it all seems pretty darn good to me - that issue is even the latest Minefield build!
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there anywhere that packages Firefox 4.0 betas to .debs that does not package them as "minefield"? I currently am using the beta 7 packages from natty, but I would like to grab beta 8.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am curious as to why Firefox 3.6 isn't in the Fedora 12 repositories. I've read the existing threads on this issue, but these threads were started in January/February of this year. It's been what, 8 or 9 months since those threads were created? I installed Fedora 13 at home over the weekend and realized that it uses Firefox 3.6.
I'm not trying beat a dead horse. I understand that people have priorities.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Fedora 13 64 bits in Spanish, but Firefox is in English and there is no spanish packages in the repositories...

Ive installed fc11 on my laptop (IBM lenovo R400). My work has a proxy which we must go through. I have set the proxy addresses in System Settings->Network Settings-> proxy. I have also run export [URL].. All seems to be ok, yum works from the command line, konquer goes out to the net just fine. However firefox wont connect to the internet no matter. The only way at the moment is to manually set the proxy in firefox. This doesnt seem right? Surely FF should pick up the system proxy? Does anyone have any ideas about this one?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently installed 11.4 32bit on my computer at my summer home. I carry a DVD with all my /home data. Then today I noticed that all my repositories are labeled "11.3" repositories. Everything works. Here is the output from "zypper lr -d"...
# | Alias | Name | Enabled | Refresh | Priority | Type | URI | Service
[Code]....
What is the correct method of moving to the 11.4 repositories?
After install I tried to add firefox but it wasn't found in any of the repositories. I thought it was supposed to be in there. Thunderbird also wasn't. What repositories do you guys add after install?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use Skype beta on my acer aspire one with ubuntu 10.10. The video runs brilliantly and i can also here my wife from the other end but she cannot hear me. Apparently something is fishy with my mic input. I tried alsamixer and everything is in unmute. My alsa version is 1.0.23. The only think she hears is a loud hissing noise which is normally my bat voice but she doesnt need to know that. I can record my voice in the sound recorder but nothing comes out in Skype!
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo here's the schedule for 10.04:
April 8th, 2010 - Beta 2 release;
April 22nd, 2010 - Release Candidate;
April 29th, 2010 - Final release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
If I have 10.04 beta 1, could I just continue to update and not have to burn another disk to install? Or do I have to burn the beta 2 and reinstall if I want it?
I just installed ubuntu because the newer versions were not working for me. So I installed 7.10 and there is no repositories that are still up. Is there any repositories that I could add from the newer ones or other distro repositories.

My update manager still says "updated 3 days ago" and no updates have come through today. Does anyone know if NBR has been automatically updated TODAY from Beta 1?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install the beta of kdepim for testing. I am using the repo here
Index of /repositories/KDE:/Unstable:/SC:/kdepim45/KDE_Distro_Factory_openSUSE_11.3
I used the one click install for kdepim4 4.4.93 and it pulled in the kde distro factory 4.5.1 repo as well automatically, but when I try to install any of the beta stuff, it complains of requiring kdebase4-runtime >= 4.5.2 which doesn't exist anywhere. So do I have to test the entire kde unstable or can I just test kdepim (what i really want to do) as the post on news.kde.org indicated.
I just installed 11.4 x86_64. Using FF beta 4, I can get to the Main Page - openSUSE and log in there, but when going to the forums, it doesn't recongnize my login and I cannot log in through the link.
I wonder why FF4 Beta is the default install for 11.4.
