Apr 13, 2011whenever I try to include a SVG picture into a ODT document (e.g. in Writer) I get a "Graphics filter not found" error message. I'm using the "Insert->Picture->From File" menu. I still have .odt files from OpenOffice in 11.3 around that contain SVG cliparts, so it used to work and SVG support is one of the feature highlights in LibreOffice.

Dec 27, 2010It would appear that novell openoffice 3.2.1.4 on opensuse 11.3 fails to correctly import pps/ppt files. Slide transition data is lost and this results in presentations without sound. This problem does not exist in openoffice from openoffice.org. openoffice from openoffice.org will play pps files with sound which will not play with openoffice from Novell. However the openoffice.org version requires JMF.
JMF is old and 32 bit. I have tested openoffice 3.2.1 from openoffice.org with JMF on a 32 bit 11.2 system and it works. I assume that JMF will not work with a 64 bit JRE. I also assume that it would be difficult to get a 32 bit jre to work with a 64 bit openoffice FMJ is an alternative to JMF. It plays various types of audio including mp3 and wav. It is packaged for installation on 11.3. Does anybody know if this works in place of JMF with openoffice from openoffice.org on a 64 bit system?

Oct 15, 2010I've seen on the Oracle website that a few other people had this problem where you install the presentation minimizer extension and its icon doesn't show up at all in OOo Impress. It is not even available under "View --> Toolbars -->,etc". I've restarted the machine, etc as well. Weird... I was able to use this extension back when OOo 3.0 came out

May 16, 2010After upgrading to Lucid, I've found that when using the OpenOffice Presentation in a full screen slide show, that the presentation itself does not maximize over the gnome panel anymore (I have a slideshow with my panel showing on top). Quite annoying.I am able to work around this by auto-hiding the panel, but would rather be ableo simply run the presentation without having to do so. I can't find anything in OO's settings to resolve this

Dec 7, 2010I installed Libreoffice on my Ubuntu 10.10 (through wubi), and uninstalled Openoffice afterwards. Everything's ok. But then I continue to receive updates for openoffice modules (which are a lot btw). From the Software Center, currently installed are libreoffice modules together with (I think) their openoffice counterparts. Now the question is, is it safe to remove the openoffice modules? Or does Libreoffice need them, too? How do I remove them completely from the updates?

Nov 16, 2010I'm on OpenOffice 3.2 and have read the OpenOffice help doc concerned with this but it refers to the Windoze version.This should make no difference but it seems to, in my case anyway.In the Win version I can see the option to import the Thunderbird address book although I can't actually get it to do it! No such option appears in the Linux version.In fact I seem to be missing a stack of drivers such as SDBC/ODBC etc. Mine is a stock Ubuntu 10.04 install. I added the Openoffice database element but other than that it's all standard.
I'm struggling to believe there isn't a relatively simple way to import an e-mail client address book and print some sticky labels in Ubuntu.

- if i try to print an OpenOffice or LibreOffice Calc with an image and text, the image is not printed (the space is blank).
- if i try to print an OpenOffice or LibreOffice Calc with just an image, it's printed great.
- if i try to print an OpenOffice or LibreOffice Impress, the images are not printed but the text is printed great.

The presentation files all have sound and/or background music and work well in both 'Windoze' and in PCLinuxOS. I am running these files on a laptop with ATI SB ALC 268 sound which is working ok.I have considered that it might be an LO version difference SUSE is 3.3 PCLInuxOS is 3.4 but the change logs I can locate, do not indicate any change that would have an influence!

however every time I start Libreoffice I get an error message:
If I go into Tools->OPtions->Java I can see the Sun JRE is installed and 'Use a Java runtime environment' is ticked. how to stop this error message?
