OpenSUSE Wireless :: Broadcom With 11.4 (BCM4312) Get Deauthenticating (reason = 3)?

I have been upgrading (upgrade from 11.3 then fresh install to 11.4) and as usual with Broadcom I have problems. On 11,3 I used the Pacman STA and was working fine. for 11.4, I suppose that my BCM4312 will be supported after installing the b43 driver. It actually woks, few seconds (but never had time to verify) Some background
lspci gives 0c:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01) Using KDE network manager I can see the wifi AP around, including mine, the problem is when I wan to connect, using WPA2 (TKIP + EAS), I have the right password (I can connect from another station), but when I try here it keeps coming back asking from password .. (I use the kwallet, but that should be out of scope) .. Basically it always fails..
right after updating suse 11.2 via wlan to 11.3 i could not connect to my WPA2 secured Wlan anymore. looking in dmesg i found:
Code: wlan0: deauthenticating from 00:24:01:e7:94:75 by local choice (reason=3) i found a lot of bugs messages relating to this, including the "fix" removing the network manger. i did remove it, but it did not help. i also removed wpa2 and tried with no encryption, but that showed more errors. so i tried 11.1 live-cd and it worked flawlessly. then i tried kernel 2.6.35-rc3-6-pae from the factory repo. then, i got sick of reading without finding a bugfix and i edited the kernel source myself (no, not dangerous, and yes i knew what i was doing). i commented out line 2963 to 2966 in rivers/net/wireless/hostap/hostap_ioctl.c . well, that worked for the deauthenticating issue, but now i have 40% to 60% package loss in my wlan. again i tried my 11.1 live-cd and it still worked. then i compiled kernel 2.6.37 vanilla from kernel.org, but that, too,
I have installed b43 with the install script and I can see all wireless networks fine, but NetworkManager just keeps asking me for the WPA passphrase, despite it being correct. I tried disabling WPA on the router, but then the connection hangs at "Configuring interface" instad. I also tried with ifup, but I'm not sure I configured everything correctly. I don't get any smarter from the NetworkManager logs, maybe someone else can decipher them? tail -50 when connection doesn't work:

I am having a problem while connecting to a D-Link Access Point with Multiple ESSID. It keeps saying activating but in the end nothing. I am using KnetworkManager & there is no Encryption on the Access Point.I am able to get connected with another machine using windows.Here is my hardware info:

I posted earlier and got no response, so here i go again. I installed openSUSE 11.3 KDE, it all works fine but the wireless doesnt work and i cant connect to the internet at all, i don't know how to, and i don't even know if the proper drivers are installed. I posted this in the last thread:

I've just installed Ubuntu on 2 computers, and I'm new to it. However I'm not new to computers. The problem I'm currently running into on one of the computers is that the wireless will not detect any connections, despite there being many. The computer is a HP Compaq v6203AU using the wireless card Broadcom BCM4312 [14e4:4312]. I've went through dozens of walkthroughs, encountering errors in every single one of them, I've spent 8 hours on this one problem and extremely frustrated. It seem to be a problem with the driver that comes as default, and I'm lost at what to do.

I am new to Linux, nevertheless Ubuntu. I have Lucid Lynx on my laptop, with Windows Vista 32 bit along side of it. I have done some research, and found out thathe wireless connector on my laptop, a Broadcom BCM4312, doesn't work with Ubuntu 10.04. I know that I need a driver
I have a problem with the built-in wireless-card of my laptop. I can connect to the wireless DSL-router using wicd (wicd-1.7.0-486-2 from /extra), wicd reports that it connects and obtains an IP-address. It then changes the status to connected. Immediately after that (may be a second later) the status changes back to disconnected and I can't reach the network.
Here some specs: Kernel: self-compiled 2.6.37-6-generic, the only option I changed from the standard generic config was to enable PAE, but I also tried it with the standard generic kernel and the huge kernel. Wireless card: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01) Firmware installed with the packages from Slackbuilds.org: network/b43-fwcutter network/b43-firmware. The wireless card is working correctly under Debian, so I think this is not a hardware issue.
I have a problem here with my updated kernel. I'm currently using Fedora 14 kernel 2.6.35.9-64, and my wireless card Broadcom BCM4312, which had an issue before with Linux distros, is working fine already, thanks to the kmod-wl software driver. My problem now is this, after updating to kernel 2.6.35.10-72, fedora does not boot, and I noticed that the wireless card is the only thing not activating, compared to the working kernel. And when i looked at the log of the bootup (pressed right arrow key), I saw this:
I recently installed Ubuntu x64 on my dell studio 1535 using the windows installer (wubi).
All seems to be working fine apart from the built in wireless card, the proprietary driver (found in hardware drivers) installs and activates successfully and works perfectly. Until I shut down or restart the system. On the next boot the wireless card is 'disabled' and no longer works.
The card I have is a Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g
I am going to try a proper install on a second partition rather than using wubi later on but wondered if this was a commonly occuring problem?
The wireless card works as soon as the driver installs, however I am shown a "restart to activate driver" message and after restarting it's dead.
I need a driver to work with my Broadcom BCM4312 Network Connector on my Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop. I have already extracted the tarball, but I don't know what to do to actually install the driver. I am running Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, with Windows dual booting.
I'm fairly new to fedora, and I installed it on my gateway kav60 netbook. Everything works fine, except that the wifi is saying that the firmware is missing. Is there a way to fix this?
I'm relatively new to Ubuntu and Linux OS in general, hope this hasn't already been solved but after trying for 24hrs+ I think it may be time for me to start my own thread (sorry if there is already one). I have been desperately trying to get my Broadcom BCM4312 wireless card to work and after searching about 100 sites and threads I still can't get it going Here are some of the problems Ive been having(I am running Ubuntu 8.04 by the way):
1. Tried installing "Broadcom STA Wireless Driver" under System->Administration->hardware drivers but after install it didn't show any signs of working.
2. I tried getting the Linux driver off the website [URL]... and followed the instructions in the readme to the letter, yet when i am asked to type in one of the final commands: # sudo insmod wl.ko
I get the output: # error inserting 'wl.ko': -1 File exists I have also looked at this website where a guy posts the same problem but no one posted anything back: [URL]...
Last night I turned off my Wireless Card Broadcom BCM4312 via button. Today I can't turn it on... any help?

I installed OpenSUSE 11.3 with disabled WLAN (otherwise the installation process didn't start). Now the system boots only in Safe Mode with enabled WLAN card (when the WLAN card is disabled it also boots in normal mode though). But even if I try to configure the WLAN card in Safe Mode, the system doesn't boot next time (in Safe Mode) until I add "brokenmodules=ssb" parameter. As I understand after reading this forum I should install a firmware/driver, but there is no install_bcm43xx_firmware script in /usr/sbin directory.
I'm flummoxed, guilt-stricken and near my wit's end. The Ubuntu-preloaded Inspiron 1545 I persuaded my girfriend to buy contains the dreaded BCM4312, and nothing I can think of seems to be helping. I've tried various approaches with the STA and B43 drivers. Gad, I feel like I've tried EVERYTHING. Here's where her poor machine's at right now:

I recently switched from 10.04.1 Ubuntu that I had for only about a week, to Ubuntu 10.10 Beta. I switched because I heard that 10.10 comes with firmware right out of the box for BCM4312. I am new with Linux, and Ubuntu, but I do know what some of the commands do and etc. I got 10.10 installed, but the wireless options say "Not connected|Firmware Missing" What do I need to activate the firmware, or install it?
I am trying to start using linux, and am new, so sorry if this is dumb. I started out trying Ubuntu, but that didn't work. After that I had tried Mint, and had several problems besides the Network Connector. Now I'm trying Fedora, but if that doesn't work is there a different Linux distro that will work?
I recently bought a Lenovo laptop which comes with a wireless card called Broadcom BCM4312 but in dmesg it says "bcm4315 hybrid wireless controller".
Jockey says the driver is installed, activated and in use. However I don't get any signal (I even moved the laptop to the same room the wireless router is).
I run iwevent and nothing appeared.
I run Kubuntu 10.04, fresh install from a USB stick, latest updates. I replaced knetworkmanager with the network-manager-gnome. network-manager-gnome works fine and I can connect to wired connection with no problem.
Network-manager-gnome says that the wireless is disconnected. What can be done to make the wireless work?
I have a problem with my wireless connection. I just installed the broadcom BCM4312 firmware in order to recognize my hardware. Everything is ok, it connects to my wireless network, but i can't access the internet. My wireless is in eth1 interface. If i try to connect using PPPOE it works.
I'm running Kubuntu and Windows on the same machine but when I swap over to Kubuntu I can't get the wireless to work. The lshw command returns network disabled but the machine can see that there is a wlan0 connection.
I've been trying to install the broadcom Linux driver from their site but the instructions fall apart at step 3: cd bnx...version/ ( directory just created by tar). I'm guessing this is because I don't have a Live CD (after almost a week of trying to burn a disc I just broke down and got Wubi) but that doesn't change the fact I have no idea what to do now or if this will even work.
If it makes any difference, the wired connection will also occasionally die mysteriously after about 30-60 minutes of use and refuse to re-activate but work fine when I switch over to Windows or just plug it into the router.
Dell Studio 1735 w/BCM4312 WEP fails to connect even though I'm using the 10 character HEX key. It connects fine when there's no security on my Linksys WRT310N router. Ubuntu, Windows 7, my Samsung TV and TiVo all connect fine with the 10 character HEX key, but with opensuse 11.4 I can't connect.
when it comes to openSUSE but I am earnestly trying. I installed the openSUSE OS on my HP dv6000 laptop, but it does not seem to recognize my wireless card (which is a Broadcom 4311).
