OpenSUSE :: PHP File Gets Downloaded When Browse In Any Of Browser?

Jul 3, 2011

I followed the following step given on an openSuSE site but I am still encountering the same problem i.e. a phpinfo.php file gets downloaded when I browse it in my browser. In case the browser wants to save your php files instead of displaying the content, you should enable php support in the /etc/apache2/mod_userdir.conf file. Add the following line to it, just after the <Directory /home/*/public_html> line and restart the server.Include /etc/apache2/conf.d/php5.conf

phpinfo.php

Ubuntu :: Cant Browse Network Shares In File Dialogue Box From A Web Browser?

Aug 10, 2010

While in a web browser I'm trying to attach a file which resides on a network location. The file dialogue doesn't allow me to browse any network location. I've mounted the volume and added locations to favorites. I've also tried entering an smb:// path. This only happens in browsers, both FFnd Chrome, some examples would be attaching a file in gmail, yousendit, etc. I can browse and work off the network normally in desktop apps.

I'm very new to *nix.

-2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM

-Ubuntu 10.04

General :: Cannot Browse Files Downloaded Or Copied Across Network

Jan 9, 2010

I have ran into a permissions problem. It seems that any file I have created with Fedora I can browse to in Firefox. I cannot browse to files that I have downloaded from the internet or copied locally across our network. I changed file permissions to 755 and 777 for these files. I even thought that maybe it was the php file content that was causing the issue. So, I copied the file content from file 2 into file 1. File 1 was the file I could always browse to since I created it in Fedora. I could still browse to file 1 after it had file 2's content.

I look at the permissions and they appear the same for both files. I am not sure why I cannot open the other files. I downloaded phpMyAdmin. I cannot hit any of these files in a browser. I also copied some files from a a backup location we have internally. I cannot browse to any of these files either. I used chmod 777 filename. Even after doing that I could not hit any of the files. I moved the files into my document root directory ( /var/www/html ) and I still cannot browse to these files.

Ubuntu One :: Can Browse The Music Catalogue In A Browser

Aug 1, 2010

1) Can I browse the Ubuntu One music catalogue in a browser? Or is using Rhythmbox or Banshee a requirement?Shouldn't people be able to buy the music from any OS, using any software (browser, music player with browser)? (accessing the music store through any browser is really a minimum... Maybe I was just unable to find it.)

2) When I click on "my downloads", it doesn't open any browser window and stays stuck on "Connecting you to the Ubuntu One Music Store...".There is no way to reload the page or go back inside rhythmbox.

Note: I'm using Lubuntu with chromium.

3) Why isn't the music also offered in open formats like OGG or FLAC?

4) Are there any plans for a similar service offering videos (movies and TV series)?

Ubuntu :: Firefox / Web Browser Can't Open Downloaded Imasges

Jan 8, 2010

Firefox / Web Browser Can't ipen downloaded images.I have been using Firefox 3.0 with good success, and recently switched to Firefox 3.5 (unbranded version, called A Web Browser).I was looking around in Google images and downloading a few images in Web Browser 3.5, when my problems began.Firefox and Web Browser run off the same profile, and neither browser will open image files correctly.I call Web Browser WB for short. All of a sudden I cannot open jpg images.I saved image as and when the download was complete, I tried to open it.WB needed an application to open with, so I selected to open the containing folder instead. WB needed an application to open with again.

Not knowing the name of the Ubuntu image viewer, (which is eog for Eye of Gnome) I went over to /usr/bin and selected the document viewer, evince, to open the jpg image, which didn't work, so I selected nautilus as the application to open the folder with. Now I can open the folder all right, and from there, I can open the jpg picture from within that folder, but I am now told in the WB and Firefox download window that /path/ to/picture.jpg is not a folder in response to my trying to open the downloaded image.I performed some other checks:I can successfully download and open a pdf document;I cannot open a png or gif image, for they are not folders.

A check of Preferences and Applications tab shows no listing for jpg, gif or png or the word image under content type. There is no provision there to create a new entry, either.I checked and compared Firefox Preferences Applications tab with that of Web Browser. They appear to be identical in content. What do I do next? I will log out of 9.04 and back in again, and if that doesn't work, I will restart the computer after I finish my post. Then I will come back with the findings.

Ubuntu :: Downloaded The Demo Of Penumbra Overture, It Is A .sh File (113Mb) Can't Open The File?

Jun 2, 2010

I downloaded the demo of Penumbra Overture, it is a .sh file (113Mb). I can't open the file. The quotation marks are my own. Is the file corrupted? One of my lugmates thinks it might be a shar file, but Karmic says that it is a shell script. Another friend says that it is too large to be a shell script. Here is the code:

Fedora Networking :: Find Out What File Is Being Downloaded From What IP?

Jul 24, 2011

I've got something or someone downloading from me, probably scraping, and i can't figure out WHAT is using all of my bandwidth, and WHERE it's coming from.I don't know what SERVICE its from (eg, is this an apache request, or DNS DOS), what FILES are being accessed (if any, eg apache requests/scrape), and what IP is requesting them.My apache logs isn't showing anything that makes me thing i'm being scrapped. I'm kinda stuck in a brain fart right now and can't remember how to track this down, but the long and short is that all of my band width is being consumed, and 1 of my CPU cores is staying maxed out ("top" says that it's the avahi service).I've shut off the following services 1 by 1 to see if any of them would cause a drop in network usage, and none of them did:

apache
samba
postfix
