Apr 6, 2011
I got OpenSUSE 11.4 and VLC is not working also here is the output:

Every time I try to reproduce a MKV file I get the following error: No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "h264". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
This was working a few days ago with no issues. I think stop working after the last update (not 100% sure). I have tried to uninstall and installed back again, but didn't work.
I just want to know if there is any way to play .wmv on ubuntu 10.10, I tried VLC but it always give me that Error message : No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "MSS2". I did also try MPlayer But it's not Working either.
I use Fedora 10.Whenever i try to open an avi file with VLC player I get the error 'No suitable decoder module for fourcc XVID'.How can I remove this error?
In C++ or C, is there anyway to detect the name of the module or driver currently used by a network interface card (either wired or wireless, INCLUDING USB DEVICES)?My application must have this feature. I just want to detect whether the module / driver is ndiswrapper or not.
I'm semi new to Linux, I use ubuntu for a little while. I'm tired of Windows and looking for something new, I've been aware of linux for some time now but not sure what distro is for me.
-I'm a gamer -Photo Editor (GIMP) -Video Maker (Screen Recorder) -Firefox person (I hear Firefox comes pre-installed) -Messenger Person (Aim, Skype, MSN)
And there are so many distributions I just am not sure.. I did try Guild Wars on Wine on Ubuntu but it just didn't seem like it was working right, I think I did it wrong.
I am running openSUSE 11.1 with modified Kernel. While trying to run make on the downloaded driver for the RTL2831 I am getting an error message that I do not full understand. That is:
Code:
linux-2c5j:~/rtl2831-r2 # make make -C /root/rtl2831-r2/v4l make[1]: Entering directory `/root/rtl2831-r2/v4l' No version yet, using 3.0.4-41-desktop
[code]...
I am not sure what is required when the error is "first use this function". How can I use the function T_DIGITAL_TV if I first have to install my driver in order to use the stick?
I am running Debian on a g3 mac and when I set the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 I cannot see everything, for instance the scroll bar on iceweasal is hidden, so I switched the resolution to 800 by 600 and then i load up evolution and find that the forward button isn't visible, is there a way to get a custom resolution that works with everything
I am currently running Lucid, and in every single attempt to play any mp3,it claims that it cannot find a suitable plugin, which is weird because I am nearly 100 percent certain that I did install all of the restricted extras. The funny part is that it is trying to install a Soundblaster Voc plugin?
I've been using KBibTeX to manage bibliography (.bib) files under Gnome in openSUSE 11.2 and 11.3 (running outside Kile). What is the simplest way to carry on under openSUSE 11.4? YaST does not find KBibTeX, and the site HTML Code: [URL] does not mention openSUSE.
I've installed openSuse 11.4 server-mode (text only) on my desktop, and I'm trying to configure IceWM so i'll eventually have it set up so it always boots into text only mode, but I could be able to quickly start icewm via the command line.using Yast, I installed the Xorg server, and icewm.when I type X, the screen goes black and it just doesn't seem to do anythingI found if I hit ctrl+alt+f1 it kinda puts me back into text only mode, but I can't put in commands anymore. The last thing it says on the screen is:
Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0)
I've goggled that error message and the discussions that popped up around it made no sense to me at all. I've never configured X from scratch before, can someone point me towards a tutorial or something?
I have been using 'radeon' driver in 11.3 for a few days and its working great for my desktop. But then I decided to try the new 10.7 ATI driver and followed the sequence here. Everything went alright, until I get at "Loading the new build module"
[code]...
So I just reboot and now, X is gone, and I'm in runlevel 3. What is wrong here?
OK Trying a fresh install of bnome openSuse, and I have certainly screwwed something up again and hope I don't have to reinstall again., arghhhh! Tomboy won't open, even after reinstallation, and below is the error, but first, as well I can't open my .odt file with openoffice writer!
now the error... #tomboy Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "gnomebreakpad": libgnomebreakpad.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ...and lots more
The rsync module "opensuse-full" which worked well so far seems currently broken. It tries to mirror a huge number of additional stuff (factory?) but fails with "permission denied". Any place where I could report this?Command:
I'm still trying to find out if my coby mp3 player will actually play mtv video files as is advertised.
ffmpeg -formats does list mtv but the only command I really ever used was one to convert a vid to an mp3 so I tried Code: ffmpeg -i test.mp4 -acodec copy output.mtv it returns Code: Unable to find a suitable output format for 'output.mtv' I can't find any mtv files online for purchase or free for that matter, so I know this is all pretty obscure but shouldn't there be a way to convert them since ffmpeg lists mtv format?
I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 and updated it completely. Then allowed it to install the nvidia-current package for my nvidia graphics card. I do see the GLX module load.
Code: [ 11.298] (II) LoadModule: "glx" [ 11.298] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so
I've been trying to get my HP dc5750 computer to produce sound, but so far there hasn't been any joy. That is until today! I found out that there isn't a sound module for the card that is in the computer. I know that is no reason to be happy, but at least now I know the reason why the sound doesn't work.My sound card is an HBA ATI SB.How do I go about finding a sound module? If that module can be found, how would I go about installing it?I'm new Linux and don't know anything about programming.
I am trying to install a Sunix 4018T dual parallel port card on a pc with Mandriva Linux 2010.1: Dealer told me that linux has driver for this card already so I inserted it and turned on my pc. Unfortunately when I try to install my Okidata ML320, cups it's not showing any parallel ports. I try to update all the system with last patches and packages :I tested the card on a pc with windows xp, installed my printer and it works perfectly.
Can someone tell me how to correct the "Invalid module format"? I hope that correcting the "Invalid module format" error, I will not have the "Unknown symbol in module" error.
Note: I am using wlan1 for this module as I previously am online with the wlan0 network. The same error occurs if I use ./wlan0up.
I'm trying to enable the rewrite module in apache, to enabled the module I followed the last entry in the fist page this thread:[URL]...When I restart the apache all works fine, so I supose it's enabled
Now I create .htaccess in my apache folder (/home/user/apache), and I write this:
Code: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^link([^/]*).html$ test.php?link=$1 [L] And I try to execute this: ./.htaccess, I have this mistakes: Code: ./.htaccess: 1: RewriteEngine: not found ./.htaccess: 2: Syntax error: "(" unexpected What are I doing wrong?
nits@nits-desktop:/mnt/Storage/Tors/Incomp$ btdownloadcurses --check_hashes 1 filename.torrent /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/BitTorrent/Storage.py:4: DeprecationWarning: the sha module is deprecated; use the hashlib module instead from sha import sha
These errors occurred during execution:
[09:37:48] IOError - [Errno 5] Input/output error
Got this error when I tried hash checking, was downloading the file using rtorrent when there was a sudden powercut and my system shutdown abruptly, tried restarting the torrent and kept encountering problems while restarting.
I recently got a new audio interface, which is working perfectly on ubuntu 10.04 i just plugged it in and it worked without any tinkering! the interface is a lexicon omega which is fully supported under alsa. The problem is that for some reason it's not working on ubuntu 9.04 (which is where were most of my work currently is so occasionally i still have to use 9.04 as i don't have all of the same software installed on 10.04).
Jack seems to detect it properly in both 9.04 and 10.04 as it is listed in "interfaces". But it does not show up in "Volume Control Alsa Mixer" so I cannot select it from the drop down list.
So currently I have no sound (just in case you weren't able to decipher that from my primitive ubuntu-speak above )
This nvidia driver is driving me nuts... I have tried everything I can think of including multiple solutions from threads.
I have a GeForce FX5200 with the nvidia-current drivers installed. On boot I receive the following error messages... code...
If I try and open the nvidia server settings I get the following message.
You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server.
In Jockey I get:
The driver is activated but not currently in use.
I am using headers 2.6.32-23 and have updated to grub2 (something that seems to have fixed a mismatched header issue for others). I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, edited the xorg.conf with nvidia-xconfig as well as manually and I don't know what else to do... any suggestions would be appreciated... 640x480 is crap.
I need to install module u32 into the netfilter module for kernel 2.6.27.
I did not see the source code in the kernel version I have. where can I find the code for U32 module.
I have checked "netfilter.org" and looks like POM is discontinued. Is the u32 module committed to kernel version 2.6.27 or need to patch it. If yes, where can I find the patch?
Vlc is no more able to play video. The video interface of vlc is transparent as you can see from the screenshot. The major change I made recently updation of Cair-dock to version 2.1.3-2 from ppa. VLC version is 1.0.3.
