I've been using KBibTeX to manage bibliography (.bib) files under Gnome in openSUSE 11.2 and 11.3 (running outside Kile). What is the simplest way to carry on under openSUSE 11.4? YaST does not find KBibTeX, and the site HTML Code: [URL] does not mention openSUSE.
View 4 RepliesI have OpenSuse 11.4 with KDE 4.6.2 in my laptop. The version of Kile I am using is 2.0.86. I would like to change the bracket highlight color from Black to Yellow (In previous version of Kile it was yellow). I have found no option to change the bracket highlight color in settings -> configure kile. The documentation says that it is possible but does not mention how. Can anyone help me in this regard ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this, and has an explanation. I'm running Kile 2.0.85 under openSUSE 11.3 32-bit on a Lenovo X61. Twice in the past couple of days I've had the bizarre experience that, upon a sudden burst of typing my text has appeared in Kile in reverse order.

I use gnome-mplayer 1.0.0 and Totem Movie Player 2.30.2 to view videos Both read subtitles well from srt files. But both are not able to read {a6} command in the srt files.
NOTE:- {a6} command serves the purpose of putting the subtitles on top of the screen, making it possible for subbers to display lyrics/additional footnotes on top, while at the same time, having the dialogues to show in their usual position.
Is there are way to force either of them to read the special commands properly?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use an ancient text editor - Jove - that I maintain and update myself. It has worked fine on Fedora 6, 7 and 8 under gnome-terminal (known to the Jove editor as xterm). I just installed Fedora 12. When moving around a file being edited, the cursor often 'replicates' itself into a series of blocks (or underlines, depending on the cursor type setting) that seem to correspond to tab-stops. I initially thought it was stumbling on TABs, but it does this weirdness on long strings of blanks, as well. Clearing and redrawing the screen cleans things up until the next movement command.
I _intensively_ checked the code for anything that might be sensitive to the new termcap strings that have come with F12, but nothing. I could live with this if the underline cursor blinked so that I could SEE it in text, but alas, there ain't a blinking cursor. Just found out how to get the cursor blinking on another thread. But, I'd _still_ like go get the 'block' to work right. I compared the termcaps used by Jove in LF8 and LF9 and they were identical. Since the "7-block-wide" cursor bug happens in LF9, 10, 11, and 12 but not in LF8, I can confidently conclude that support for termcap/terminfo has been broken as of Fedora 9. And people ask me why I have four computers. (So I can run F8 F9 and F12 and compare their performance!).
Every time I try to reproduce a MKV file I get the following error:

This was working a few days ago with no issues. I think stop working after the last update (not 100% sure). I have tried to uninstall and installed back again, but didn't work.
I have changed the default gnome-terminal preference but it is ignoring the default geometry I set using gconf-editor.

I think I made one tweak too far and as a result have lost my desktop - no top panel, launcher just a blank screen with my desktop background. I've created a new user and everything is fine under that account so I don't think it is terminal. which files I should delete/replace to restore the desktop back to it's default settings? I've deleted the .gnome2, .gconf and .gconfd folders but that has not solved the problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been using gtk record my desktop, which does a very good job and records nicely as a .ogv. The problem is, the Openshot editor doesn't appear to support .ogv files, which means I have to find some way of converting the .ovg to something Openshot can use. Having used both Pitivi and Arista to re-encode the file, I find the picture quality suffers some substantial loss by becoming noisy.
So, can anyone suggest:
1. A way to get Openshot to recognise .ogv files natively? or,
2. Suggest another screencast program that records to a high quality file that Openshot understands? or,
3. Suggest a video editing program that can open and work with .ogv files, allowing the addition of music and titles (text), and then save to a high quality file like mp4?

It opens as a blank document... I know it has text in it though!
I've tried with other files and also with nano so it's not just a problem with a particular file.
How do I view the current contents of the file so I can then edit it?

First thing to mention is that I use the Linux version of Firefox. That means that unlike the Windows version the contents of the application bindings dialog is very scarce.
When I click on the link to a text file (be it remote or local) by default Firefox opens it in the internal browser. I've tested, somehow it looks at file extension - when for example I make a file with .mpg extension, the behaviour is as it should be - the dialog with "Open With..." and stuff. When the file has unknown extension (unknown to /etc/mime.types), in my case it's .out, pure text format - the default behaviour is to open it in a Firefox window.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn windows I really only used Notepad++ as my text editor, it had two features that I loved.What I need to accomplish is what I would do with Notepad++ column editor.I could have like 100 lines, and place the cursor at a column, and goto edit>column editor, and I could insert an incrementing number. (I could also pad the incrementing number with 0s, this was GREAT for making batch files among other things.)So each line at that column had a number higher than the previous line.The other feature that I used sometimes was a search/replace with regex patterns.Does anyone know of an editor that has those features for linux? I am mostly after the column editor insert feature but if you know of one with both features that would rock.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have noticed and this now worries me, if I export a KeePassX xml file then open it with a text editor I can see all my �private� details.Just tested it on my old desktop with Slitaz and open the exported file with leafpad text editor and I can see my details just the same.Previously I used RoboForm and when viewing an exported file in the same way you could not make out any of my details. Is KeePassX designed this way or have I not used KeePassX correctly.I have posted this on KeePassX forum and emailed them direct with no response so far.Ubuntu 11.04.
