I've just installed openSUSE 11.4 and am having an issue. In the System Settings -> Desktop Theme menu, only four themes are available: Air, Air for Netbooks, Air openSUSE, and Aya. I clicked the "Get New Themes" button and tried to install a new theme. The theme appeared to have installed correctly, but it does not appear in the list.

I went to package manager and installed it but still doesn't work. Themes to be installed, either overglossed or sickness-black. environment ubuntu 10.04.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running PC/OS, which is based on Xubuntu. I've got all of the Shiki-Colors GTK themes, the GNOME-Colors icon themes, and the Arc-Colors themes installed. Everything's going great, but I've got one little annoyance going on. What's happening is the Arc-Colors (both the list and non-list version) showing up in my GTK themes list, and that's obviously not where they belong
these, of course, are supposed to be GDM themes. What's more, I see nothing in the /usr/share/themes directory to indicate that they're in there by mistake, and in fact, I distinctly remember putting them in /usr/share/gdm/themes, which is where they belong. I first tried this downloading and installing them from the repos, and when they acted up there, I tried the manual installs from GNOME-Look and got the same thing, too.
I have problems with a disordered non-alpabeticly list of existing themes in lxappearance. Googling gives a solution to use the stable version of lxapperance and pinning it to stable. This works great, but is there also a solution of using a alphabelictly sorted themes list in the testing (Squeeze) version of this program?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to install a new icon theme without effecting my currently selected panel theme, as i think the Ambience panel theme looks really nice and unified but im not too keen on the Ubuntu-Mono icons.Is this easily possible, without going into my icon folders and replacing all the instances of one style for another?Are there any applications for gnome icon theming like OS X's Candybar?Im sure others must desire to change only the icons and perhaps it is really easy and this is why i couldnt dig anythin up on google, that or im a useless googler.

Normaly It is supposed to show themes in /usr/share/themes right? but now it shows themes only in ~/.themes folder. I don't know what affected the change. how do I configure it as to show themes in /usr/share/themes/,?
Also whatever theme I use , Controls would stay same(Classic controls). They wouldn't be update to those of the Theme used.
I use Opensuse,I want change KDM Themes,but Themes Tab is disable and show me go to General Tab,General Tab is Disable.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is a relatively fresh install. Anyway, no matter what GTK+ theme I select (with Sonar and oxygen-gtk also being available), it always defaults back to Raleigh. I've tried restarting x, logging out and in, rebooting, and reinstalling oxygen-gtk to no avail.If it matters, I found that qtcurve-gtk2 and qtcurve-kde4 weren't installed (before I did all of the troubleshooting) so I installed them, although there was no change in the situation (and neither show up as options).

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince installing 11.3 I've noticed that with certain Workspace themes the plasmmoids and panel have options missing: The theme in the screenshot is "Elegance" others have the same problem; "Oxyglass", "Heron" & "Aya". The panel has the resizing sliders missing. These were working ok in 11.2.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just updated to SUSE 11.3 and got the latest version of KDE 4.I'm not thrilled with the default theme (the taskbar running applications are really fuzzy) and would like to install a new one, but there isn't anyplace in the settings menu to change it. Did I miss something?

Wallpaper, with a complimentary color scheme for windows decoration, and icons and sound effects inspired thereby, loaded as a set. Is there an app that does this for KDE? It seems like linux gives me more options, but without an important tool to utilize them. I'm sorry to bring a question here that's probably been asked many times over the last dece, but the likely hits on "theme" and "windows" has overwhelmed my search fu.

After upgrading from opensuse 11.2 to 11.3 my firefox and thunderbird have changed their theme to a new one(?). Actually I prefer more 11.2 theme as firefox's and thunderbir'ds interfaces look a little bit "bulky" to me.
How can I change their themes?

I have a question: Under a share I can use the "read list" and "write list" options with groups (eg @users). Is that group a Linux or Samba group? If it's the later, am I forced to use the net groupmap command, or it is sufficient to have a group name in the /etc/group file? Should I add samba/linux users to that group (with net rpc) or is sufficient to have the group membership set in the linux?

i had also added vbox users(i ticked vboxusers) under yast-security and users-user and group management-edit-details to make virtual box work.
i want to check that installed theme so i restarted my laptop.after the restart opensuse taking too long time to boot
note:the login theme also not working.
after the boot i restored defaults in login screen themes.it is also not working.
i don't know which cause this problem(vboxusers or login theme).i am also seeing a root user has been added in my login area.i tried opensuse failsafe also.
Ive seen some fixes for this but they all seem to be specific to the particular user's sources.list . . . ..

I tried to change the basic toolbar to cairo dock,a tutorial that i found told me to write in terminal gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.listso i write it and a window opened,i couled not find the text that told me(the tutorial i mean)so i closed the window,after that i keep taiking the same error

All I want is for my bootloader to show "Ubuntu" & "Windows XP" which are the only 2 OS's I have installed (dual booting). At the moment it shows Windows XP, Ubuntu, Ubuntu recovery mode & like 2 more.. which are also Ubuntu & recovery mode. I've never selected the other Ubuntu ones, only the first one. So, how can I remove the ones I don't want to show on the list.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere is a problem with my source list (apparently) I'm running 11.04 if that helps.When I try to use apt-get install update for example, I get: "Malformed line 59 in source list etc/apt/sources.list"The same error occurs when trying to access synaptic package manager, it tells me there is a malformed line and the list of sources cannot be read.This error prevents me from apt-getting anything, updating and i suspect it is affecting the software center too.
