OpenSUSE Install :: Logitech Trackman Configuration In 11.2?

Dec 15, 2009

I have a Logitech trackball which I configured to emulate a scroll wheel in the xorg.conf file in 11.1. It is ignored in 11.2. I tried configuring with SAX2, but there are no mouse settings available. Even so, I used SAX2 to set the display and made sure the xorg.conf file had my mouse settings. Still no luck. I checked the Xorg.log file which at the top said the xorg.conf file that I edited was being used. The mouse section showed a different configuration being loaded:

Debian Configuration :: Creepy Sound From Logitech Audiohub Speakers / Fix It?

Aug 16, 2010

http://forums.logitechio.com/t5/2-1-2-0 ... d-p/216711
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 48#p374748

This may be a bit late for the OP, but I thought to post here, as this thread seems to surface when googling for Audiohub problems. I had this roughly 10-20 Hz ticking/popping constant noise as well, and it seems to be related to the fact that the speakers are connected through a USB hub, not directly.

After experimenting a bit with the kernel USB configuration, the noise went away when I unselected
USB_EHCI_ROOT_HUB_TT and USB_EHCI_TT_NEWSCHED at "Device drivers - USB support - EHCI HCD". I think it is the latter option that made the difference. This was on kernel 2.6.25.4. Although marked experimental, both seem to be selected on Arch kernel26. On older kernels (2.6.20-2.6.24) you may have to select USB_EHCI_SPLIT_ISO, but there I am just guessing.

The hardware volume knob still does nothing (I don't think there is a hardware mixer, probably it just tries to communicate the volume changing request to the computer). Does anyone have idea how to make this work, it's kind of sad to have one and not be able to use it?

OpenSUSE Hardware :: Configuring Logitech LX6 In 11.2?

Dec 22, 2009

I'd like to get the scroll wheel's left and right tilting to work in firefox (go back and forward one page). A lot of the forums suggest ways to do this with xorg.conf, but I see that it's been removed in 11.2. The only mouse support in Yast is this "text console mouse model" thing- what is that?? At any rate, it doesn't have Logitech LX or MX series mice in its list.Any suggestions for getting this to work? Am I going to have to create an xorg.conf file, and what will break if I do? Any ideas what the direction is for Logitech mice in openSUSE? It sure would be great to have better support for mice in this distro

OpenSUSE Hardware :: Logitech Orbit AF Webcam

Nov 27, 2009

I was having some issues with my old webcam and decided to just get a new one since my old cam was just that, old. Anyway, I went with a Logitech Orbit AF and it works as far as video goes but I can not figure out how to change the pan/tilt. I did not expect all the options of the cam to work but I figured I would at least be able to move the cam up since it is aiming at its lowest setting, which when using is around my chest. I have been searching around trying to find something that tells me what I need to do. From what I read, I think I need to change the settings of some functions called v4L2UpDownPan() and v4L2UpDownTilt() in luvcview, which I guess are in a file called v4l2uvc.c but I can not find that file. Is this what I need to do? Is that the file I need to change and if so, where is it? I just want to set it and leave it.

OpenSUSE Hardware :: Logitech ClearChat Pro USB Annihilated Volume Control?

Dec 25, 2009

I am currently using openSUSE 11.2, and I just got a Logitech Clearchat Pro USB headset for Christmas. Like the average Linux n00b, I just plugged it in and hoped it would work like normal. Well, at first it did work, but the volume was very quiet. The headset also controlled the system's volume controls (pressing up/down on the right headset would raise/lower the volume on the system itself, not the headset). So I went to YasT2. Added the headset as a second sound card. Configured the volume.

However, I noticed now the volume icon on the System Tray has completely disappeared. Pressing up/down on my keyboard's vol. controls no longer works, nor my laptop's built-in volume dial. Did I completely destroy any chance of changing the volume from outside of YasT2? I set it to "auto config" the Logitech headset, I thought it was safe since it recognized it as the right 'set. Someone, please help me. I'm sure you all know how much of a hassle it is to open YasT2, type in the root password, and configure your sound card just to change the volume.

I just held down the volume up again on the headset, and all of a sudden my cursor just started shaking like an earthquake passed by, and I could see the blue highlight around the form flicker.

OpenSUSE Hardware :: Logitech Marble Mouse USB Scrollwheel Emulation On 11.2?

Jan 7, 2010

After upgrading from OS11.1 to 11.2 I am annoyed by the fact that no configuration options exist any more to customize for my mouse. This is a 2-button trackball very ergonomic for people. that are prone to have RSI problems like me, a real solution.

Before in 11.1 I could use Yast to set up X that it would emulate a scrollwheel with the right button. Unfortunately now with 11.2 all has to be recognised automatically and they simply threw out the mouse configuration in Yast, leaving us with some useless console mouse configuration. Not every upgrade means an improvement, which seems very much like ....

Could somebody help me or give me pointers what is the procedure to recover this emulated scrollwheel functionality? I know it has to do with xorg.conf, but I don't have that file and without this good start it will be difficult for me to get anywhere. How is this file re-created?

OpenSUSE Hardware :: Logitech Dinovo BT Dongle Switch To HCI Mode?

Jul 20, 2011

I recently migrated from Gentoo Linux to openSuSE because I no longer have that much time to maintain the sane state of my system, and want my computer to just work when I need it.. So far openSuSE surprised me and I was able to configure my system almost completely without even touching the shell where I almost lived in the Gentoo days..

However, I'm not able to make openSuSE automatically detect my logitech BT dongle (as part of a dinovo keyboard and mouse set) and switch it from HID to HCI mode so I'm able to use bluetooth.

What does work is this:

Code:
# /usr/sbin/hid2hci --method=logitech --vendor=046d --product=c70c

Then the dongle is switched to HCI mode, a bluetooth applet appears in gnome and I was able to pair with the keyboard, keypad, mouse and mobile phone

But I don't want to manually run that command each time, so I figured the best way is to let udev handle that (?).. As I didn't find any udev rules to perform such an action I tried creating one myself, however, I'm not sure that I'm doing it right /etc/udev/rules.d/70-hid2hci:

Code:
ATTRS{idVendor}=="046d", ATTRS{idProduct}=="c70[345abce]|c71[34bc]", RUN+="/usr/sbin/hid2hci --method=logitech --vendor=$attr{idVendor} --product=$attr{idProduct}"

But that doesn't seem to work..(yes I reloaded the udev rules using udevadm)

how do I make this work? And shouldn't it already work out-of-the-box?

OpenSUSE Hardware :: Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 Can't Focus To Infinity?

Aug 9, 2011

They promise a lot for this camera: Full HD recording in 1080p, brilliant pictures with 10 MP resolution (2592x1944), Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus for 7cm and beyond .So I got this camera at a local shop and fired up guvcview. The camera produced a picture right away. An that's about the end of the success story.

After some unsuccessful attempts to focus on the building on the other side of the street I closed guvcview and started a Google search. It turned up the following message by kpeppard, "Support Specialist":

Also, our webcams are only made to go to a maximum 6 feet then it starts to get blurry. HD Pro Webcam C910 Focus Issue (MacOS) - Logitech Forums In fact the camera can focus down to a distance of about 4cm (better than they promise). But when the focus is set to the best possible "infinity" the image is in focus at a distance of 40cm. Anything further away gets blurry. I made all my experiments with the best possible resolution using fswebcam

Code:
fswebcam -d /dev/video0 -i 0 -r 2592x1944 -p YUYV logitech.jpg
and guvcview in video mode @1920x1080.

OpenSUSE Multimedia :: Recording Audio With Logitech QuickCam Pro For Notebooks?

Jun 20, 2011

Inspired by some recent posts from oldcpu I decided to grab some audio from my Logitech webcam, just for the fun of it. openSUSE 11.3 i586 is in use.

It works! Though I have to say that the audio quality is mediocre (to say the best). I blame it on the quality of the built-in microphone of this camera. It sounds like it was recorded in a giant bathroom.

It's just your typical wireless keyboard & mouse combo. The K350 works fine after the install.
