I tried to add another repository to yast (Index of /repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2) and when I was done, Yast gave me an error message and now no repositories show up.
The error is: "/etc/zypp/repos.d/_mozilla_openSUSE_11.2.repo:Line 2 is missing '=' sign"
How do I fix this? How do I get my repos back? I took a look in that directory and this is what is in it:
Code:
[_mozilla/openSUSE_11.2
]
name= mozilla/openSUSE_11.2
enabled=1
autorefresh=1
baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2
path=/
type=rpm-md
keeppackages=0

I am running Suse 11.1 64bit, with KDE, recently I received a pop up on my screen, "something about update problems", I used Yast 2 and selected online Update and it couldn't find updates for Nvidia and froze at that point. I dis-enabled that repository and refreshed all of the remaining Repositories individually and it seemed to work. I then went to the repositories listing and selected "Add" and selected "community" repositories and received the following: WARNING Unable to download list of repositories or no repositories defined. What is my problem? How do I acquire the list of community repositories? I can live with out the Nvidia repository for now but would eventually like to get it back.

I noticed that WineHQ doesn't exist in the Debian repositories. Or is there a Wine alternative in the repositories? If not, how can I install the latest stable version of Wine ?
it says here http://www.winehq.org/download/debian that some .deb packages need to be downloaded and manually installed, but I don't know how to install them...

I did the UPGRADE from Karmic Koala to Lucid, and everything was going well. But now I've been having problems with the UBUNTU UPDATE tool for the last 2 weeks. Every time I try to do an update check on the packages, I get the following message:Failed to fetch http:[url]....Release Unable to find expected entry deb-src/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.I've tried changing the servers to MAIN and others, and still no way to solve it. I've also checked for other posts, but haven't found a solution yet. Here's my SOURCES LIST (gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list)# See http:[url].... for how to upgrade to # newer versions of the distribution.

I recently installed 11.4 32bit on my computer at my summer home. I carry a DVD with all my /home data. Then today I noticed that all my repositories are labeled "11.3" repositories. Everything works. Here is the output from "zypper lr -d"...
# | Alias | Name | Enabled | Refresh | Priority | Type | URI | Service
[Code]....
What is the correct method of moving to the 11.4 repositories?

I don't know if it's just my system, but after applying the latest Wine update, the mouse cursor in Wine windows is now purple/magenta/pink, whatever. Not a big problem, just annoying. I've looked through the various config files in ~home and /usr/share/wine, and can't find any parameter that might even remotely address this.

The problem I have is that I am not able to get ANY of my Emulators to work in Ubuntu.
I have been trying for months now, but there isn't a single reliable emulator that works on Ubuntu.
There always seems to be problems with lagging, and sound issues that never seem to get resolved.
This is beyond frustrating because Gaming is the one thing i need to have on my computer, yet it is the only thing I'm not able to get working.
Do any of you know of any alternative suggestions to fix this problem?
I have tried EVERY available emulator for both Windows (Used on Wine) and Ubuntu.
Is there some kind of general setting for Wine that I am overlooking?
Here are a list of Consoles I want to play:
- Super Nintendo
- Nintendo
- Sega Genesis
- Sega Master System
- Nintendo 64
- Playstation
- Gameboy Advanced and Original

For some reason, gnome-terminal, terminator, mrxvt, rxvt, tilda and a few other terminal applications I downloaded are unable to register the 'a' key on my keyboard. However, every other application is able to register my keypresses perfectly. Does anybody know what might be causing this, or what logs/diagnostic tools I could use to find out the reason for this odd behavior?

Looking at building a system that basically just runs emulators (nes, snes, etc). Haven't messed around with linux for a couple years so I thought this might be a great project to get back into it with. Maybe.
Questions I have-
- How easy is it to have a linux installation that just boots directly into the emulator? Since it will be hooked up to a tv, I just want it to be as easy as turning on the power button and then I'm off.
- Is there a stripped down linux distro that would be best suited for this type of setup? Really any recommendations for a distro would be great.
- Its running on old hardware- 900mhz athlon, 512mb ram, geforce2 video. Will this be a problem if I'm trying to run something like i've described?

Just tried and failed miserably to get an Nvidia 6200 based graphics card to play nice with my machine.After putting my ATI Radeon 9200 back in the box, my emulators have gone all kinds of strange.
ZSNES will crash as soon as I attempt to load a game full screen and will leave the screen resolution at the resolution ZSNES was running in (800 x 600, for example.GENS again will alter the screen resolution to whatever it was running in when the emulator is minimised. I'm running 10.10 with 1gb Ram, 128mb ATI Radeon card, P4 3ghz. Was all fine until I tried the new card and I did a fresh install only last week .

I'm new to Linux and these forums, but programmed in C++ on other systems. I discovered several Linux terminal emulators don't render Right to Left languages properly and so as an exercise I writing my own. It based on GtkTextView widget. Basically is working, but the shell won't issue prompts because it doesn't think my terminal emulator is actually a terminal (isatty returns false)

I have a trusty old opensuse10.2 and an opensuse11.0 humming around. They have old commercial software on them we still use and will not pay for upgrade. But Now I need to install some additional packages on them, and it is a real pain to find rpms. I was wondering if there are some of the old repositories around. We still have centos3 and centos4 running which are much older, and those repositories are around.

Essentially, I have an openSUSE system which is isolated from the internet (for business security reasons) and I wish to provided it with the latest update repository. Since the system is not permitted to access the net, my proposed plan is to download the updates repository using my Windows XP system, burn it to DVD and then transfer the repository to the openSUSE system this way.Scanning the internet, I can find plenty of guides which describe how to download repositories using YaST and zypper, but nothing that describes how to resolve my (admittedly unusual) problem

The whole thing started with an annoying amarok bug (thought it was a bug: ASF missing), in fact the Packman repository didn't exist at that point. (which contains the ASF module)To add it I needed to load the, community repositories. The system already failed at that point and gave me following error message: "WARNING: Unable to download list of repositories, or no repositories defined".I researched a bit on Google and it seemed to be a common problem..unfortunately nobody could offer a solution. (I guess the error occurred not to many users...)
