Feb 16, 2011Is there a program available that would allow me to create an index in a pdf file that has no security restrictions on it? I know people can lock there files so I am not worried about thise but if I have open permissions on a pdf file how do I go about creating an index. It seems that by default you get the thumbnail view but I like to be able to click on a index list to go to a page.

What I'd really like to do is send people to just one page (the perl page) which then generates the html and shows the html page in question. Oct 29, 2010I have this nasty habit of refreshing desktop in a quick succession by right-clicking and selecting 'Refresh',on my XP system at office.(And,iam sure most of us do the same).With Ubuntu,if a right-click on desktop slowly and select 'align by...',it simulates the XP refresh action as explained above.But,if i perform the same action rapidly,it takes this first option from right-click context menu,which is 'Create Folder',and results in an empty folder being created on desktop.I tried double right-clicking and again it created an empty folder.Is there any workaround to handle this.I mean:Can the right-click context menu items be shuffled so that the 'Create Folder' option is moved from 1st place

If im gonno do that I need to create inverted files to associate files to numbers ( numbers being the index of my paths ) . Now I was wondering what would be the best way to create an inverted file ? I was going to create sql tables using mysql api in C but then again there is no array data type or vectors to store few numbers in a single column in mysql and it is not advised to use Enum or SET

Jul 29, 2010I tried to add another repository to yast (Index of /repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2) and when I was done, Yast gave me an error message and now no repositories show up.
The error is: "/etc/zypp/repos.d/_mozilla_openSUSE_11.2.repo:Line 2 is missing '=' sign"
How do I fix this? How do I get my repos back? I took a look in that directory and this is what is in it:

Oct 18, 2010In re of Fedora 13. I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to create a new folder with nautilus. Yes - I know about doing a right click in the background of the window to use the pop up menu to create a folder. BUT - ALAS - When the folder is full of files, there is no blank background space to click in so I cannot get the pop up menu to appear. Hence, I cannot create a new folder. Seems to me that the constant tinkering with Nautilus is leaving essential features missing or totally not-obvious to locate. Argh!!! Since the main menus are also missing (as compared to prior Fedora releases), I seem to be left with little choice other than to open a terminal window and do a mkdir command.

We have created new user with default home directory /home/secondary/
Using Bash command:
setfacl -R -m u:secondary:rwx /home/primary/webapps/appication/
we added full Read-Write permission for secondary user.
To access application folder he suppose to type full path to application folder which is not so convenient for daily usage.
As a solution I would like to create some shortcuts in home directory to this folders as I seen something similar in default cPanel configuration where PUBLIC_HTML folder has some alias such as WWW.

Feb 19, 2011I am trying to mount the device sdb in the folder /mirror so I issue the command dmd@dolly:/$ sudo mount /dev/sdb mirror. I would now expect to see the contents of sdb in /mirror but instead of mounting in /mirror it is being mounted in /mirror/mirror and the second mirror folder is created during the mount
dmd@dolly:/mirror$ ls - returns no results
I then say dmd@dolly:/$ sudo mount /dev/sdb mirror and look for my mounted files in /mirror and I see this
dmd@dolly:/$ cd mirror
dmd@dolly:/mirror$ ls
lost+found mirror (an additional mirror folder)
mount says
/dev/sdb on /mirror type ext4 (rw)
I'm sure I'm just doing something goofy or otherwise have screwed things up but I've tried this several times with re-boots in the middle and wherever I choose to mount sdb it ends up being mounted one level lower in a folder of the same name.
