Networking :: Installed Mysql As The Backend To PowerDNS?

Mar 17, 2011

I am marking this solved because I believe it is posted in the wrong forum. I will repost in Software. Sorry for the mistake. I have a small website that I want to host from home. I'm able to access it through the public IP but have not been successful in setting up the zones in PowerDns using PowerAdmin to resolve the domain name. I have read several sites regarding the issue but I still have no success. I'm hoping someone may be able to help with editing my master zone in order to resolve the domain name. I am using CentOS 5.5 to host the site and I've installed mysql as the backend to PowerDNS.

I want to install GTK+. I see there are also numerous dependencies, which i've been slowly tackling, and the Cairo package has been particularly difficult. It claims the following upon ./configure --prefix=/usr configure: WARNING: Could not find libpng in the pkg-config search path checking whether cairo's PNG backend could be enabled... no configure: error: requested PNG backend could not be enabled I've done some searching and found that libpng.pc is in my /usr/lib/pkgconfig/ directory and that the following commands don't do the trick:

using the LDAP as storage of hostnames/IPs/MACs for the DHCP server on CentOS.Also once the IP is allocated via DHCP to the hosts,it would be useful to insert such host into the DNS. (BIND? dnsmasq?)I've found this link [URL] which deals with a patch for the ISC DHCP package, but I don't think this is actually up-to-date.

I have Apache and PHP installed and I'm using PowerAdmin to create the master zone.I have tried to configure the zone to resolve my domain name and I have had no success.I've googled and read tutorials and have tried suggested methods, but it's still not working. This is a new adventure for me and I would like to be able to host a site from my home for experimental purposes. Fedora Servers :: Php Not Seeing Mysql Module Installed ?

Mar 4, 2009

long time user of redhat, first time user of fedora...

Installed fedora 10 to the hard drive (building a new web server, switched from RHEL5)

Started to install everything I need, apache, php, mysql, odbc, iseries access for linux, etc...

Got to the php modules, installed php-odbc, php-mysql, etc... but php doesn't see the mysql module

doing a phpinfo() produces -without-mysql

uninstalled it, reinstalled it (this is all done through kpackagekit so far) - no good

uninstalled and tried to reinstall via yum, no good

all the config files are fine - copied my php.ini from the old server and let the installs create the new mysql ini files

how to get it in ? this is my last step before i can begin pen and vulnerability testing it.

Ubuntu :: 100 Percent CPU (What Is Backend Under All Processes)

Apr 30, 2010

I've just installed the Netbook Edition of Lucid on my MacBook, and it works great, with two issues:
First, each time I start, the computer is extraordinarily laggy (pretty much unusable), until I run System Testing for video, and go through the whole process. Then it seems to work great. Also, I'm having a 100% CPU issue, which switches between my two CPUs. There was nothing under "my processes" that showed any kind of heavy use. But, under "all processes" was something called Backend. I killed the process and now everything seems to be working just fine.

Fedora :: Failed To Initialize Packaging Backend

Mar 16, 2010

Recently I started getting pop-up saying:

Code:
Failed to initialize
Failed to initialize packaging backend
This may occur if other packaging tools are being used simultaneously.
under more details i get:

Code:
There are unfinished transactions remaining. Please run yum-complete-transaction as root. I get to terminal, and as a root I try yum-complete-transaction, but it just says there are no unfinished transactions left. I tried to update thru yum, but this is what I get:

Code:
# yum update
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, presto, refresh-packagekit
Determining fastest mirrors .....

After lots of googling, I tried:
"yum clean all",
"yum-comlete-transaction",
"rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*" + "rpm -vv --rebuilddb" + "yum clean all",

Everything else is working well, and I am able to update with "--skip-broken", but I keep getting this pop-ups. I use fedora 12.
