At this moment, the only distributed version of FLUKA requires g77. I cant find g77 in package list.in ubuntu and debian it was.how can i install g77?

After the installation, the KDE environment is not booting as the default, but runtime level 5 boot instead.
I have checked my installation and ensured to have KDE4 installed.
Please advise how to have KDE boot.

currently i am trying to downgrade my version of g++ compiler in my ubuntu 9.10using synaptic, deselecting current 4.4.1 version and adding desired 4.1.2 version will result in g++ not being recognized in terminal anymore :(also sudo apt-get g++will only get me the latest 4.4.1

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to compile a program with mpicc. To compile I use:
CC=/usr/bin/mpicc ./configure
However mpicc's default C compiler is gcc 4.4.2 and I need to use 4.0.0 which I have installed in another directory. I do not (nor can get) root privileges so I cannot edit mpicc's default compiler. Is there an option I can set while configuring?
I downloaded Go-OpenOffice from SlackBuilds.org, but I can't build it. make terminates with configure error: checking for C compiler default output file name. configure: error: in `/tmp/SBo/ooo-build-3.1.1.5': configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details.
(I can't find config.log anywhere) I use a quite 'light' installation (no xap, ap), and I suspect that I have some unmet dependencies, but the error message provides no information about what software is needed (I've installed all dependencies listed on SlackBuilds.org). I'm using Slackware64-13 with Xfce
I am looking to install a c++ compiler. I run 11.4, and was told to look in the Software Manager for easy installation. I have no repositories installed, as the repositories in the Application sticky only applied to Suse installations through 11.3. I found the package "gcc45-c++" (Version Number 4.5.1_20...208-9.8) when I searched the Software Manager. I proceeded to install it, and had no problems, but when I looked in "applications", the compiler was not there. I'm aware that I may be revealing some great ignorance here, so I'll ask, should gcc appear? If not, how do I execute the program?

So for those of you who has built GCC from source would know that you can't install GCC without an existing GCC. So my question is, what would happen if all computers in the world suddenly just died, and all you had was the computer in front of you, and a copy of GCC 4.5. How would you install that?
I ask because I would like to install GCC 4.5 on my old powerbook G4 mac without installing a binary GCC provided by Tiger 10.4 disks. I would like to build GCC from source, without an existing GCC to complicate updating.
I'm an absolutely beginner at linux and openSuse. I dont even know how to install apps. I learned to install from repositories but I dont know how to install a script file.. I dont even know anything about terminal. So what I want is for now is apps that required to write C/C++ codes and compile them. Im at univ and I need to install these but I dont know which apps I should get or how to install them. I was using MS Visual Studio on windows.

I checked the log messages and see an error posted by kdm that grub-set-default is not in the path. I issue a find and, yeps, no grub-set-default. A week or two ago, I uninstalled CUPS. Went to make tea, came back to find a huge list of stuff being deleted. I had to abort it and spent a long while re-installing loads of stuff, for instance, even Mozzila. Can't find where to get grub-set-default so anybody know where to get it?
So apparently the GNU c++ compiler did not install when I did:
# yum install gcc
And now it's failing to install the C++ compiler when I do:
# yum install gcc-c++
It's saying it's running out of mirrors to check or something? Does anyone know what else I can do to install it?
