In addition, I am not sure if I am describing it correctly. I am looking for a piece of software that will allow a Bluetooth connection between my desktop, and cell phone. I then can place a Internet based call (SIP software, Skype, Google Talk) via the cell phone, which has been connected to the desktop system by Bluetooth.
I want to be able to receive and send calls via the cellphone, but use Internet for my calls. What got me thinking about this is a house phone I have by Panasonic, which has the capability to pair your cell phone via Bluetooth to the main base-station. This allows the option to answer calls to my house number, via my cell phone.
I have an old hp that i installed ubuntu on and I was wondering how I can turn it into a real router. By real router I don't just mean broadcast the internet but use security software, configurations, and all the stuff normally found on a real router. What are the steps i need to take? I dont have 2 NIC's in it just one but I do have a wireless usb that I can just stick into it.

Such problems with Lenny, OpenSolaris 2009.06, Windows and Ubuntu 9.04 was not. Noticed on Debian 6.0, Ubuntu 10.04 and above, OpenSUSE 11.4. And only on my computer. How do I fix this?

But I can't remember how I set this preference, and much clicking on the panel and the Turn off button hasn't revealed how I do this thingSo: is it still possible, in 10.04, to set things up so I can shut down without having to reply to a pesky dialogue asking me if I'm sure? Every time when I tried to turn off the computer by pressing the 'shut down the computer' button at the upper right corner of the screen and selecting 'Shut down', it will first appear as if it is shutting down normally, but in less than half minute, it stops at a console-like screen with the last few lines of text

I install the printer using:
And when it ask me about plugin I give the path to it. (the 3.9.2 version of the plugin, because Ubuntu 9.04 has the 3.9.2 version of hplip)
well I install the printer, everything works perfectly.....but, when I turn off the PC, and turn it on again, the printer does NOT work!, I send work for being printed but mothing happens , Ubuntu tells me that the job was printed but ... no case, my printer does not print it.

My computer won't shut off unless I just hold down the power button. Everytime I try System > Shut Off it just turns off, then restarts. My computer screen will sometimes just 'turn black' and become unresponsive, and I have to shut it down and restart. (The longest I waited was a few minutes with no response. The only think I am not sure is the hard disk click sound only when I shut down the computer. It happens right before the power is totally cutoff. I normally do not have this sound. I presume that this maybe due to the fact that the head goes back to original position but I am not sure. Is this normal?

First, started off that I couldn't turn off or reset my computer using the power buttons, it simply logs out.

Then I forced it to shut off with the command: sudo poweroff
When I turned it on again my icons like Trash bin, Netowrk meter, Keyboard layout have disappeared from my panels...
And it doesn't shut off anymore (it did for a couple times only).
i'm a long time windows user that decided to try out Ubuntu. I installed compiz fusion so i can play with the effects and it for some reason it deleted my toolbar on the top so i cant move my windows, nor minimize them or x them off. I also must use the classic mode because unity is nothing but a blank desktop.

(all resets and formats and menu doodas, done them all!) I'd like to put a lite linux proper on it and have been a long time supporter of Ubuntu.. so is there any options? and if so, what? it has an 400mhz samsung arm cpu and 128mb ram. wifi bluetooth, it like a little laptop lol... ermmm... x( but won't connect.
