I want to implement ticketing system on cent OS 5.5 for internal use, i.e when user is having any problem in their system, they will rise a ticket with its number and we will close that number after we fixing the issue. So could anybody please provide any use full url links to implement it?

Can anyone suggest a product that will allow a developer to raise a ticket (or similar sort of trackable item) which can be used to track the progress of a software build through a number of environments?Basically It's just a case of creating a ticket, using that to trigger a software build, then requiring some form of sign off to allow a second stage, and then another sign off for a third. It's not about building things, just tracking an issue through various stages of testing through to production.
I'm looking at replacing an environment which currently uses jira for this purpose, but I've no knowledge of it, and am keen on other GPL tools instead. Jira is, as a product, massively overkill for what is required too. So I'm keen on one which might fit in with the rest of my toolset - cobbler, func, puppet etc. I was looking at trac, which seems like it might have some relevant angles to it, but I really can't tell because having not done this sort of project before I don't honestly know what to call what i'm after. I don't *think* that something like bugzilla would be appropriate as it's too specifically about bug tracking, rather than a generic workflow with signoff stages and such.
Here is my system: I have dell poweredge 1950 PERC 6 with 300 GB raid system. It has two disks of each 300GB RAID mirrored system. I have few applications and data that reached around 280GB. As you know, poweredge 1950 we can have only two disk.
They are not mission critical. Hence, I wanted to remove the raid system and use as a non-raid system. By doing it, The applications and data can grow upto 600GB. I do not want to loose the data and setup. I am not so clear about RAID system and its conversion.
Find external and internal devices attached to a system in Linux
How can i find through terminal that which devices are external and which are internal.
By external i mean devices attached to USB port. For Example, USB Drive, Portable USB HardDrive etc
By internal i mean devices attached internally. For Example, SATA Harddisk etc.
I've got a problem with my 3G modem [Huawei E122].
It has internal storage and kernel assigns a device [/dev/sdX] to it.
Because of that, every second time my machine will not boot - kernel panic - as my usb hdd gets assigned /dev/sdb instead of /dev/sda.
I cannot use LABEL nor UUID in root= kernel parameter, as it is only available when using initrd, and I can't use it - I am using Debian on my router - mips architecture machine.
I have to prevent this from happening, as my router has to start everyday and I have to be sure it works ok. I don't have physical access to restart it when something goes wrong.
I don't use my modem internal storage, there's no SD card inserted. However kernel detects the reader and loads it.
I can not prevent loading od usb drivers since my hdd is on USB as well.

My system decided to crash on me, hard. It was humming along happily for about 2 months and now doesn't boot. If I boot from hard-disk, I get grub. Launching the first kernel choice hangs. I thought maybe the install was corrupt, so I booted from usb install disk. The usb hdd didn't boot; something about an error trying to access /dev/sda . Unplugging the internal disk and plugging in the usb install disk does result in the system booting. Plugging in the internal disk in a running system usb-booted system does not result in the system detecting the disk.
How do I know if the disk is physically broken? This seems unlikely since it does manage to launch grub consistently. Or is this still possible? How can I try to mount whatever is left? The usb install disk doesn't even list the /dev/sd*. Any pointers on how to reformat the drive if it's not being mounted?
Installing this on an old Pent II 350 MHz machine. Ethernet card has a RTL8029 chip on it.
Install went well. During boot the statement "Determining IP information...fails" No IP is assigned to the NIC. I have DHCP running on my linksys router. Should not be an issue.
In a default install, will Cent OS 4.7 normally get the NIC setup with connectivity or is there further config work to do on setting up routes and iptables(firewall) ?

I have an existing Ubunto 9.10 install sitting on a 500 GB SATA drive that was sitting in my second SATA port. I'm trying to swap the internal HD out to a new system that has a 500 GB SATA drive with Windows 7 on it as the primary drive, in SATA port 0. When I configure BIOS to boot from my Ubuntu drive, I just get a flashing cursor on the screen and no Grub bootloader like I was before.
Does this mean Grub isn't on my Ubuntu drive? Should I install grub on both my Ubuntu drive's MBR AND my primary Windows 7 drive's MBR, or only one of the other. The instructions I've been reading don't specify which drive to reinstall Grub on and which drive I should boot from, so I'm confused. How do I get it so that Grub acknowledges my Windows 7 install on the primary drive?
system() and execvp() both work by creating a new process. Question: Do they create new processes by internally calling fork() or there is some other way ?

I cant update my system what can I do?
I've upgraded from FC11 to FC12 32-bit (live CD to HD install). Now when I try to perform software updates it gives me an Internal System Error. I've clicked on more details and it gives me the following:

Everything else seems to work, including all of the programs I've installed from non-Fedora sources i.e. DOSEmu, Adobe Flash plug-in and Cannon LBP-660 printer driver.

How easy is it to install a complete Bugzilla system for my own internal use?
Is there an rpm that will set it up automatically?
Is it part of the distro? Or 11.2 or 11.3?
What is the easiest way to install it?
I just installed F9 and updated to F11 (fedora 11) and I updated the system because I couldn't get the media player working and then I installed all these packages for two days. I have tried yum clear cache and the rpm update. Here are some of the ones I tried:

when I load into Ubuntu 11.04 from my USB drive, why can't I access the files on my internal hard drive? I mount the drive but I cannot see any of the music, videos or documents contained on that drive (which is also an Ubuntu 11.04 drive). I was wondering so I could copy those files onto my external hard drive and reinstall since my Ubuntu crashed.

I live in a crowded area so I have to use headphones almost all of the time. I just leave them plugged in so when an alarm goes off from Thunderbird or Evolution, I can't hear it. Is there a way to get some use out of my internal system speaker and have a reliable calendar-event-reminder and alarm? View 2 Replies View RelatedWe recently went from quad dual core AMD chips to quad quad core chips (16 cores total) After upgrading the CPUs Cent 4.7 only shows 8 cpu in /proc/cpuinfo it should show 16. Has any one run in to this issue before? It's not hardware related. I had this issue on another box and it was resolved by reinstalling the OS which I can not do on this box. Also I have verified that the CPUs were installed correctly, during POST the box shows all 16 CPU.
