I have report running through a Unix server. In this it takes out certain data of the database and sends it to each of the user's mailbox. But if some user replies or has set his out of office reply then this server keeps on sending h the same mail again and again. I need stop it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm nearly at the end of creating a shell script that automates changing network settings by prompting the user for desired settings, then applying them.
In the course of my development, I created temporary copies of /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 (/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0_tmp1, for example) so as to not alter the original file. Little did I know that on boot the system would attempt to load each of these kinds of files and associate it with an ethernet connection, in this case eth0.
So..... now there are multiple copies in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts diretory that essentially have the same settings. They are..
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0_tmp1
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0_tmp2
Now when the system boots, it attempts to load them all. The boot doesn't appear to complete, and I can't ping, login, or otherwise access the system through convention routes (putty, etc.).
The easy solution would be to delete the tmp files and reboot. Now, how do I do that without being able to log in to the server. It's a VM by the way, if that makes a difference.
I have got a running mail server on CentOS5.4 Final using Zimbra free edition. . Assume that domain is organization.com.local And it is running fine with users created and bugzilla running on the same machine can send mails using this server. But it can obviously send messages to the internal users. There is this option to configure it to use external mail server to send mails outside the network but my external smtp server needs an authentication.Is it possible to configure it this way to use my external server to send mails from internal domain to say gmail?

I have ubuntu minimal iso x86_64 from usb stick created with unetbootin (don't have a cd drive on the machine in question), and after that I didsudo aptitude install gnome-terminal network-manager-gnome gdm geditsudo rebootnever got a system back. Annoyingly I can't boot into the recovery mode either, and it seems the keyboard is only semi-responsive (i.e. many dead keys when at the grub menu).qualms about reinstalling, but I've done this a few times and ended up at the same place every time.

When I'm in Gnome or KDE or any Desktop session, the X server keeps running when I do an init 3, (i.e.) I'm still in the GUI instead of going to the console. When I type runlevel it shows that I'm in runlevel 3, but the X server is still running. The X server is not getting killed on an init 3.

I have two situations here :
1) I have my Nagios running on the linux box and BMC Remedy Server on the Solaris box. I have simulated a mail from Nagios to be delivered to the Remedy server. But the Remedy Server does not receive it. I even tried snooping on port 25 but nothing has reached the box.
2) I have my Nagios running on the linux box and BMC Remedy Server on the Solaris box. I have simulated a mail from Nagios to be delivered to the Remedy server. I snooped on port 25 on the Solaris box. I could see the mail reaching the box, but it is not being forwarded to the Remedy inbox.
Whenever my debian based server is rebooted 35 times it does an automatic disc check. When it does this and completes the disc check it doesn't properly establish network comms and I can't get in using SSH and I can't even ping the server.If I reboot again, it operates as normal but the problem is that the server is remote to me and I need to travel to the site when this occurs.

I don't want to manage and maintain local mail service anymore. I have subscribed a package from ISP to host a public domain of my own. I wish to have my hylafax service to able to send the notification mails to public mail server, is that possible to do it? It is great if all mails that send to local mail server may forward to public mail server. That makes the local mail service serve mail forward only.
In December I finally filled up my root partition and broke Suse 11.1. I therefore resized my partitions and installed Suse 11.3 on /root. I didn't not touch my /home partition.
I notice that when I leave my machine and come back the screen has locked. I have tried to turn off the screensaver, but it hasn't worked. I have Googled, but unfortunately the screen shots don't look like what I have and the instructions to stop this do not seem to match what I am seeing on the screen.
Is there a way to do this via the command line?

How can I sending email from this type of Ip which don't have dns entry?. But if I enable SMTP auth I can send email form this same ip. Exchange 2010.The shop system on the external server needs to send mails to customersrder confirmations, invoices, etc.). seing as sending them directly through the local MTA (Postfix) would cause mail delivery problems because of reverse DNS issues, i've set the Postfix MTA to act as a satellite to our in-house Exchange Server, so the Exchange sends the mail instead, giving recipient mail servers a valid reverse DNS lookup.
Now, mails sent by the (proprietary, uneditable) shop system are relayed correctly and sent to the target e-mail address.My problem is: Mails not sent by the shop system, but by our own PHP scripts which run on that same external servers, are NOT relayed properly.So the Exchange is fine with the mails sent by the shop system, but not the mails sent by our scripts.This is what i get in the mail.log:The successfully relayed mail sent by the shop system:Quote:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm planing to get 4 dedicated, remote servers for my start up, the question I have is: how to do only one installation and then duplicate or clone this installation into all the other machines. I could install those 4 servers manually, but the problem is - we have a lot of things that our application needs, and later there will be more servers. So an automatic way to do that would be better. We are using Debian. Perhaps there's a way to create a "big package" that will contain all of the necessary software in it, then simply require from the hosting provider that all of our servers come with Debian installed, and then manually upload the "big package" and install it?
