After installation when i go for make command it shows error like /opt/edlk/usr/bin/arm-linux-gcc: Command not found details:

1. if cross toolchain build wth differnet library other than the one using presently on host, will it b matter.

Feb 22, 2010I'm running a Knoppix Live CD, and I want to install ClamAV. What I'd really like is to download all the relevant packages and save them onto a USB pen, and then I can install it easily whenever I run the Live CD anywhere and update the definitions at my leisure without having to connect to the internet or go through remodelling Knoppix. I'm not entirely sure how to do this though, mainly because of dependencies. I would think it would be along the lines of cd'ing to the usb and running:

apt-get -d build-dep clamav-base
apt-get -d build-dep clamav
and then to install use dpkg, but I'm not sure how to get it to look for the dependencies in the same place:

dpkg -i clamav-base
dpkg -i clamav
I'm just about to go and try it, but I thought I'd ask first to get the wisdom , but also to see if anyone else does something similar and whether they think this is a good way to achieve the goal, regardless of whether this technically works.

I want to install some mario games in my pc (ubuntu). I have downloaded tar.bz2 of it. Extracted it and configure and install-sh both are there. I already tried by ./configure. It requires g++, cpp several packages. Now my question comes. What are those packages? How to find out them? How to install them? Is there any other easy way for installation? Mar 15, 2010First I go to the following URL to download the latest version of VLC Player, which I greatly prefer to Totem or any other standard Linux video/audio player: http://www.fileguru.com/Movie-Player/download. After I click on the "Download" link, a new window appears which asks me if I want to 1) Open with Archive Manager (default) or 2) Save File. There is a drop down arrow next to the first choice which only gives "Other..." as the only other choice. Well, if I choose the first option, the download appears as an .exe file in the "Downloads" window.
A window with "Download Error" in its Title Bar appears with the following message in it: "/tmp/VLC_Player_Setup-3.exe could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences." I don't even know yet how to even open up an .exe file in Linux, despite repeated research.

I tried the "online update" using Yast2 but apparently (according to Yast) there is nothing at all to be patched on my system. I tried to click on the Firefox-3.5.5 rpm in the repository web-interface and open it using "install software" but the process aborts because of unresolved dependencies. Jun 23, 2010Since the DVD is only 4.7GB and missing some stuff (e.g. pvm) I decided to download the network install /oss folder for openSUSE 11.2 so that I can install multiple copies locally and keep my bandwidth usage down.
I've downloaded the full /oss folder using wget -r and wget -cr during my ISP's free bandwidth slot (12-8am - and it took 2 sessions to get it all).Wget didn't throw up any errors so why the difference?Is there any (simple) way I can check the integrity of the download?
