General :: Dificuldade Em Recuperar O Browser?

Meus estimados senhores.Quero antes de tudo cumprimentar-vos e desejar que se encontrem na melhor sade.Apesar da idade sou um verdadeiro novato nestas coisas de computadores;tenho (tinha) como browser o google chrome, mas um belo dia ele deixou de aparecer.tentei tudo o que podia para o recuperar mas n consegui.Desiludido desinstalei-o,mas o gestor de actualizaes prop-me actualizar o google chrome co o stable mas sempre que tento d erro (sudo dpkg--configure-a), no sei o que fazer, j tentei instalar um novo google chrome mas tambm no resulta.Preciso absolutamente do chrome como browser e n tenho mais nada.Peo-vos por favor um conselho que me permita voltar a trabalhar e pesquisar normalmente no meu computador.Desde Jagradecido, fico espera de resposta.

i just updated from karmic 9.10 to lucid 10.04 using the online upgrade option. so far everything is working great. the only issues i am having seem to involve firefox. when i visit videos i get the message "your browser is no longer supported. please upgrade to a modern browser." i am running 3.6 "canonical" so it is "modern". i am able to watch videos after i close the message. it's just an annoyance to get this message every time i view a video.
next, is on some websites (like this one) it will not supply my login info. but on a few sites (like ebay) it does supply my login info. not sure why some sites work while others don't. the info is there when i look under my saved passwords....

I'm surfing along just fine when I select some link in my browser.The status line reports "... waiting for ..." and the browser seems to stall for a long time (minutes). Often, but not every time, I can select the STOP toolbar icon and reload the page. This time things work normally.
I have a similar but different malfunction running Evolution email connected to my hosted IMAP server. I select a message and see "... formatting ..." and then Evolution seems to stall for a long time (minutes). Rarely the stop-reload actions help reading email. Instead,all Evolution windows go dark grey and the entire desktop stalls.[Analysis -- It has the feel of a "network" issue provoking issues within Evolution itself rather than an Evolution-only malfunction.]
Watching the running system with 'htop' and similar, I do not see where some other application or service is sucking all of the available CPU time or such. [Analysis -- It has the feel that either the browser message or the email message were sent into limbo without reaching their intended destination. Stop-reload sends the bits to the right places and so I get results.]

a week ago, i updated my computer from ubuntu 8.04 to 10.04, and since then, no sound plays from any browsers (i've tried firefox, which has been my main browser for years, and epiphany web browser, which seems to be the linux equivalent to internet explorer). i'm still able to play videos videos, but i get no sound from them. however, mp3's, skype, and audacity all work just fine; i just can't get any sound from my browser.

Can ping both hostnames and IP address successfully but when trying to connect via browser or IRC, nothing happens (using name and IP). Ran netconfig and selected DHCP. Checked IP properties for VM-8 on Host OS and everything appears in order, and I have same IP address in the Guest OS. Can ping from Guest to Host and Host to Guest. Previously worked with XP as Host OS and I have a Windows 7 32bit VM which connects successfully.

I tried changing the memory browsing size in firefox which seemed to help a little but the browser became slow again.

Is anyone using the SRWare iron browser? I found it in the Mandriva repos.
It uses the same "Default" directory as Chromium so you can't use them both at once. ~/.config/chromium/Default/
Firefox seems like a snail after this.

I am running PC LinuxOS 2010.12, I am using google chrome as my web browser, when I open Chrome it asks me if I want to set chrome as my default browser and I click yes. The message goes away, but the next time I open the browser its asks again. When I go to the tools settings it says that chrome is not the default browser and I try to click set as default browser but it does not do anything,

I have been using a little inexpensive Acer, mainly to retrieve e-mail and to browse the web. I normally work on a Mac platform ( I am a designer). A week ago the Acer took a dive from the counter top to the carpet. (not the first time). Since then (coincidence?) the mail function works fine, but the browser does not go on. What should I do?

I am very new to Linux and everything I read says the android OS is based on Linux. That said I am evaluating 2 Android tablets. The Samsung Galaxy and the Motorola Xoom. I am trying to execute wmv files in a web browser, the wmv files download as .wvx rather than play. I have installed flash but the problem continues.

I was reading about Linux and found out that you can apparently custom build your own operating system.
The thing is, it all sounds great for what I would like to do but my knowledge in that area is zero, or sub-zero.
My question is: is there an operating system out there, that will start up the computer, then have a browser installed on it - lets say Firefox - with a homepage www.example.com?... (no start button or taskbar)
Maybe no toolbars or anything else except the webpage itself.
Also the hardware should be plug and play, such as printers, mobiles scanners or any usb driven devices.

I choose Chrome. It works for xpdf, but Evince still starts Firefox after click. I feel Linux is not standard. I use Linux Mint 8 (Helena) LXDE.

I switched over to Linux from Windows, but now when I try to play Zynga poker it doesn't work right. I can only play there if I run Windows in a Virtual Machine and play from there, but it's kind of slow. I read somewhere that people were able to solve this problem by installing the SeaMonkey browser in their system. I tried that but it doesn't work either. Flash is already installed.
