I have developed a game using c++ and GLUT few month back.w i want that game to be playable on web browser.What i need to do for it?Do i need to write the whole game again or just a slight modification will do the job?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis game is Java based. After rebooting the game works, but on ending the game several notification boxes remain. If these boxes are not closed in the reverse order that the game opened them, it is no longer possible to close them. Only by killing the Java processes can these notifications be made to close. Also after playing the game, even if all these notifications are closed it is many times necessary to kill the Java process(es) in order to get the game to load again at a later time. I am currently using Slackware 1.30, but a similar problem has existed in several of the past releases.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am running a game server on an Ubuntu 11.04 box. The game is Minecraft. The biggest (smallest?) bottleneck for my server is the read/write/access time of data on the hard disk. I feel an SSD could make a huge difference in performance.The Minecraft map is stored in individual region files that are further divided into 'chunks'. Each file is between 64KB and 10MB each (depending on how 'developed' they are). Users are crafting the world and so are constantly loading these files and editing them while playing the game. I'm hoping to have about 15-30 users on at peak times, and 2 or 3 at minimum. The server would be up 24/7.The entirety of the game directory (the map, player data, config file, plugins, etc) is less than 1GB. So I don't need a lot of storage. I will be performing daily backups of the game data to a much larger HDD on the system.Considering this scenario, would you recommend against using an SSD? I've read 'DRAM-based' SSD's do not have write limitations.

but the game still asks for the disk.I also tried to find nocd, but couldn't find any for my version.
I mean can I make it see the .iso as a disk like it happens when one uses Daemon Tools with windows or somehow else?
I have this game for the pc called international football 2000. Its a bit old I know, but I want to see if it will work on my computer. I am still running on the 8.04 ubuntu and will be upgrading soon hopefully. Will a game this old and also made by microsoft work for the ubuntu system?

I have Ubuntu 11.04. My system exceeds by far the recommendations for the game. The game is from 2001 and has very low system specs, so that's not the problem. Other games run fine, I have 3d acceleration etc. The game installs, but when I try to run it, it gives me the following error:

I really love that game and couldn't do without it. Another problem, not games related. My Ubuntu desktop freezes completely sometimes if screen is idle for a few minutes. A blank, white full screen appears and nothing I do can get me back to normal desktop. Only solution is Restart.
I have loaded Racer (http://www.racer.nl) in Wine. When I run the game I get the options box (it acts a bit strange, but does seem to work) adjust some settings, start the game & then the entire program goes away. dmesg/syslog shows the same error messages:

i just updated from karmic 9.10 to lucid 10.04 using the online upgrade option. so far everything is working great. the only issues i am having seem to involve firefox. when i visit videos i get the message "your browser is no longer supported. please upgrade to a modern browser." i am running 3.6 "canonical" so it is "modern". i am able to watch videos after i close the message. it's just an annoyance to get this message every time i view a video.
next, is on some websites (like this one) it will not supply my login info. but on a few sites (like ebay) it does supply my login info. not sure why some sites work while others don't. the info is there when i look under my saved passwords....
I'm surfing along just fine when I select some link in my browser.The status line reports "... waiting for ..." and the browser seems to stall for a long time (minutes). Often, but not every time, I can select the STOP toolbar icon and reload the page. This time things work normally.
I have a similar but different malfunction running Evolution email connected to my hosted IMAP server. I select a message and see "... formatting ..." and then Evolution seems to stall for a long time (minutes). Rarely the stop-reload actions help reading email. Instead,all Evolution windows go dark grey and the entire desktop stalls.[Analysis -- It has the feel of a "network" issue provoking issues within Evolution itself rather than an Evolution-only malfunction.]
Watching the running system with 'htop' and similar, I do not see where some other application or service is sucking all of the available CPU time or such. [Analysis -- It has the feel that either the browser message or the email message were sent into limbo without reaching their intended destination. Stop-reload sends the bits to the right places and so I get results.]
I would like to find a way to open a URL without using a web browser (which makes my computer system run very slow).
Is there an easy way to achieve this on a command prompt using SSH to access another network?
a week ago, i updated my computer from ubuntu 8.04 to 10.04, and since then, no sound plays from any browsers (i've tried firefox, which has been my main browser for years, and epiphany web browser, which seems to be the linux equivalent to internet explorer). i'm still able to play videos videos, but i get no sound from them. however, mp3's, skype, and audacity all work just fine; i just can't get any sound from my browser.

Can ping both hostnames and IP address successfully but when trying to connect via browser or IRC, nothing happens (using name and IP). Ran netconfig and selected DHCP. Checked IP properties for VM-8 on Host OS and everything appears in order, and I have same IP address in the Guest OS. Can ping from Guest to Host and Host to Guest. Previously worked with XP as Host OS and I have a Windows 7 32bit VM which connects successfully.
