View 6 RepliesI'm trying to figure out how to use wget to save a copy of a page that is frequently updated. Ideally, what I'd like it to do is save a copy of the page every minute or so. I don't need multiple copies; I just need to know what the most recent version was. Also, if the page disappears for whatever reason, I don't want it to save the error page, just wait until the page is up again.

I want to save this page but (not only single page) , I want to save the Whole page including the links.....i don't want to save each page, i want to save it as a whole so that if i am not online, the page+its links should be read exactly as via INTERNET...
I Repeat... I don't want to save each page 1-by-1, perhaps their is a method so that i can save whole page, and in ofline-State if i open that page, and click on the link in the save page, it should be loaded...
Moreover, i don't want to download a book etc...
This is the code i used, there is no error in execution but no file is bein saved in the working directory. I'm new in java,so just started learning.

public static void main(String args[])

I have three audio devices on my system;
1. a builtin (broken)
2. an HDMI on my graphics board
3. a USB audio device (i am using this one)
I normally shut off the system each night. Next day, I have to go through the pulse-audio mixer and re-set all of the audio settings. They are apparently not being saved. I've searched the forum for 'save audio' and similar terms but no joy.
I actually pretty much abandoned Ubuntu a few weeks back after several weeks of not getting a couple things working properly. One of the big problems is I couldn't get my line-in audio jack working to save my life (despite working flawlessly in Windows on the same machine).I have posted about this numerous times and had no luck despite many of you good people attempting to assist.Tonight, I put a live CD of Linux Mint in my machine and noticed a few of the little problems I have with Ubuntu seemed to be "fixed" with Linux Mint.
That's when it hit me that perhaps the big difference is 32 vs. 64 bit? My Ubuntu is 64 bit but the Linux Mint I tested is 32. Does anybody think that my audio problem could be as simple as getting away from Ubuntu 64 bit? Also, can anybody tell me if there is a Terminal Services Client available for Mint? I'm sure there is but it didn't seem to be in the default install..
I'm trying to play a url in a web page creted by me but it requires a plugin wich i dont what is the url is pt.delicast.com/radio/trance/TranceFM_DJ

Is there a website builder for Fedora 12 that will allow me to design a webpage using a GUI, and then produce the relevant html code from that?I'd like something that would allow me to create, move and resize several <div>'s on the page, and update the code as well. Then allow me to drop text or graphical elements into those <div>'sAt the moment I'm looking into KompoZer, which runs on F12 OK.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using FC12 to view television shows I miss with the Adobe Flash plugin in both Google Chrome and Firefox. Certain network pages will work with Chrome but not Firefox and vice versa. For simplicity, I would like to create shortcut / links to the different show websites we watch, but I don't know how to direct one link to use Chrome and another to use Firefox. Is this even possible (I haven't explored it much myself)?

Does it because that these two packages don't match each other?

I am having trouble getting the pulse audio server to find the hw0 with the common m-audio 24/96 audiophile. This card worked with previous versions of all forms of pulse but seems to bork on the HW0 function for audio out...which is a stereo analogue simple output. Audacity sees the HW functions but pulse does not! Here is a screen shot of the pulse crap. And another screen shot of what the real card at "alsamixer -c 0" sees. There is no dac or adc detected or configured with pulse. This does not make any sense as alsa and alsamixer has all the correct device controls available to any other software that uses the ice1712 driver.
I am using Fedora 12 amd 64 as a live usb on a 16 gig stick and want to be able to record and mix audio on to HD with my reliable high end m-audio pci sound card without having to mess with the pulse crap or having to install a full HD option. BTW in the pulse sound configuration gui dropdown list there is no indication of HW0 and the only devices that are available in pulse are digital outs.....go figure, so essentially I can see all the correct connections and use programs that access alsa directly eg: audacity but have no sound through the crappy and ever borked pulse audio server! Any suggestions as to how to remove all the pulse stuff that comes with most distros that use gnome? I have done this deed before with Ubuntu but do no know how to do the deed with an rpm based system. If I install a non pulse version of xmms and let it use jackd then I should have reliable sound for cd audio etc and should be able to configure VLC, Ardour and Nted well without pulse getting in on the action and screwing up my sound.
The workstation is running FC14.
I have the audio out of the media machine passed into the line in on my workstation. It's just handly to have the audio pass in this way so that i can manage the volume or headphones or whatever from one machine.
This worked, and worked well, for a very long time. I recently reinstalled the workstion, FC14 still. After the reinstall, my passthrough doesn't work.
If i start up some media on the media machine, and then open up the volume control on the workstation, i can see the volume meter moving along with the audio, but nothing plays out of my speakers.
i am afraid that some one palying in my fedora 12 system , " hacked " first i got this message when i log to my broadband internet provider

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Right after I installed F12 on my desktop (using KDE), System Settings showed 4-5 audio devices.
At the beginning, sound wasn't working, so I promoted the Intel audio device to the top of the list and then I got audio.
Next login, the system complained that there were unmanaged audio devices and I chose to keep the configuration (or something like that...).
However, now only the "Internal Audio Analog Stereo" device is listed and I have no sound again
I also tried to promote the GStreamer backend over Xine, without luck.
Here are some specs:
I have Ubuntu 9.10 dual booting with Windows7.My ext3 /home is mounted as F: in windows.I share a firefox profile between them so that when i am in Windows my firefox uses the same profile as it does when in Ubuntu. It all worked great until recently. I am unable to save files by right clicking and save as. In the config i am unable to set a directory to save to. It neer asks me where to save to. Just nothing happens. some off my book marks are all messed up as well, my rss feeds have the same post on some random website every time i log on and i have to manually refresh to get the correct feeds back. I am unable to delete the random bookmark.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy mediacenter is attached to an beamer with the optimal resolution of 1280*720 ubuntu 10.04 doesnt offer me this revolution (on my intel 915 graphis controller). this means i have to add this resolution to the possible resolutions. first i used cvt
Code:
cvt 1280 720 60
and got this result:
Quote:
# 1280x720 59.86 Hz (CVT 0.92M9) hsync: 44.77 kHz; pclk: 74.50 MHz
Modeline "1280x720_60.00" 74.50 1280 1344 1472 1664 720 723 728 748 -hsync +vsync
then i added this to xrandr
Code:
xrandr --verbose --newmode "1280x720" 74.50 1280 1344 1472 1664 720 723 728 748 -hsync +vsync
and
Code:
xrandr --verbose --addmode VGA1 1280x720
now i can select and use the new resolution - until next reboot. after an reboot 1280x720 is again not available. even if i work with sudo - the resolution isnt there....
Config a CentOS iptables.I issued some iptables rules.the rules were effective at once. Then, I came with a "iptables-save", but the "/etc/sysconfig/iptables" file hasn't been updated, it still loads the defaults rules with CentOS after reboot.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using an Acer Aspire Timeline 4810TZ with F12 installed. I have to enter the kernel argument intel_iommu=off each time I boot. This means pressing escape, going to the correct kernel, pressing A (to change kernel arguments), and then entering the command. I've seen some sources that suggest editing /boot/grub/grub.conf, but I've tried it and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm wondering if maybe there's another file that I have to edit, because I don't see the kernel arguments in grub.conf that I see when I press A in the grub menu.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with Fedora 12, everytime I change the Layout of the Keyboard in: Preference/hardware/keyboard and logout It goes back to default.
If I remove USA and add french canada, when I logout and login it goes back to usa & fren canada legacy.
I tried just to remove usa but it comeback everytimes.
I'm able to set it up but everytime I reboot or logout it goes to the default Fedora12 picture. My pictures is in the list so have to select it everytime in system/preference/look & feel/apparence/background. I didn't find any file to edit in my home folder to fix this.
btw I'm unable to edit the menu when I right click on mainmenu icon
This is pretty simple. I want to know if there is a way to save my settings in alsamixer. I hate having to have to access alsamixer everytime I boot my computer.
