General :: Windows - Wi-Fi File Transfer Similar To Bluetooth?

Sep 12, 2011

It's a pity that Wi-Fi is used only for network and internet connection. There's no information on a thing that can seem so simple - file transfer via Wi-Fi.I can imagine it similarly to how Bluetooth does it (or Wi-Fi spot search which is already implemented), but no, it requires complicated LAN setup. What I want is an easy cross-platform solution to transfer files via Wi-Fi.

Having a bit of a issue with Debian Squeeze and transferring files to the Sony PSP..Hook up PSP to USB port and Debian mounts it..I go to drag a 125 meg mp4 to video folder..Copy windows takes about 10 seconds to transfer it..Exit USB mode and there is no video there. It error-ed saying device was busy and could not unmount..Looking at light on PSP i see memory stick is still being written to..i wait for light to stop flashing..About a minute or so..Then am able to unmount it..Go to PSP video and theres the video ready to be watched. Debian isnt accurately showing the copy progress...Its showing complete when it isnt..I have to watch the light on PSP to know when it is truly finished.

Debian Hardware :: Add Pin Code To Bluetooth

Mar 15, 2016

I have a raspberry running volumio which is based on debian jessie, I added it bluetooth support with pulseauadio which works fine.

Now I'd like automating the process a bit because having to connect to the pi to manage the connexion with bluetoothctl is not really convenient.

I would like to add a pin code to the pi to manage the connexion, It was possible with bluetooth-agent but the command seems to have disappeared on jessie and I didn't find any indication about pin code in bluetooth config files.

Software :: Writing An ISO File For Cd Audio From A Cue And Wave File?

Nov 30, 2008

I am running Intrepid Ibex 64-bit, and I have recently ripped a cd with EAC on one of my windows boxes, and it produced a cue sheet and one single wave file for the entire cd. My question is this, is it possible to take the wave file, burn an ISO image that acts exactly like the original cd? In other words, take the single wave file, using the cue sheet splitting it back into it's individual tracks, and then reading the subsequent ISO image from a program like Sound Juicer, so it can write all the metadata and convert it with my own preferences. I know this is a very strange predicament, but it's one that would save me a world of hassle.

Ubuntu Networking :: Pairing Bluetooth Device Without Pairing Code?

Nov 8, 2010

I have a simple Bluetooth device I would like to pair with my computer. I detect it in the BlueTooth New Device Setup (from the GNOME pannel), detected as "Unknown", I enter its pairing code (1234) and click on "forward". But then it asks me to enter a code on the BlueTooth device... I don't have anything to enter any code on this device. I would like to simply connect to it! From other OS, I manage to connect to the device as it's not asking to write any pair code in the bluetooth device. The PIN code 1234 is enough to make the connection.

Server :: NFS Large File Copies Fail - Error Writing To File: Input/output Error?

Jun 27, 2009

I recently upgraded my file/media server to Fedora 11. After doing so, I can no longer copy large files to the server. The files begin to transfer, but typically after about 1gb of the file has transferred, the transfer stalls and ultimately fails with the message:

"Error writing to file: Input/output error"

I've run out of ideas as to what could cause this problem. I have tried the following:

1. Different NFS versions: NFS3 and NFS4
2. Tried copying the files to different physical drives on the server.
3. Tried copying the files from different physical drives on the client.
4. Tried different rsize and wsize block sizes when mounting the NFS share
5. Tried copying the files via a different protocol. SSH in this case. The file transfers are always successful when I use SSH.

Regardless of what I do, the result is the same. The file transfers always fail after approximately 1gb.

Some other notes.

1. Both the client and the server are running Fedora 11 kernel 2.6.29.5-191.fc11.x86_64

I am out of ideas. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
