Fedora Servers :: Looking For Graphical-use FTP Server Application

Jun 20, 2009

What is a good Ftp server application (preferably with a GUI interface)? I would like something in which you may set a login password. Also, how would you login to an FTP server which is through a router, as the computer IP address will be assigned now by the router, right? Take Linksys router for example, don't they all assign IP addresses to network computers based on the router IP Address, 192.168.1.100, 192.168.1.200, etc?Since post above, I have installed vsftpd. I cannot figure out, as stated above, how to find the IP address to log into from offsite.

Debian Multimedia :: Graphical Application To View Logs On Remote System

Jan 16, 2015

I have a web server that hosts multiple websites. Am looking for an application that can be run on my workstation and makes it possible to watch Apache logs live.

It should have a tabbed interface. When I launch the application, it has to connect to my server and should automatically open all access.log and error.log files and display all changes in real time (similar to tail -f command).

Does anything like this exist?

I'm tired of logging in many times in Konsole and executing tail -f commands to see parallel logs.

Software :: Creating A Graphical Sudo Application For The Lesser Window Managers?

Oct 31, 2010

I dislike dependency ridden applications or applications that do something useful designed for a specific window manager. So I am starting a thread specifically for requests for applications in Gnome and KDE that aren't immediately available in XFCE, Fluxbox,Blackbox, IceWM, LXDE etc. For instance, I am personally creating a graphical sudo application for the lesser window managers. What other applications would you like to see? this is NOT a request for applications for Linux is general, ONLY ones already available in Linux.

Networking :: Writing Network Manager Application ?

Apr 15, 2011

I try to understand the way the network-admin tool retrieve and set information about the network connections, and after reviewing thee code, I still dont undertsnad how it does it. I thought that it should use maybe linux commands such as iwconfig or ifconfig or by using ioctl for get/set the parameters of the wireless, but I did not find such things in the code. It also does not use AT commands for modem devices parameters.

I see that it uses liboobs files, but after veiwing the code, I still don't understand how it works.

These question comes since I work on application which connects to wireless devices (possibly several wifi and modems devices can be connected ), and I try to think how to set/get the network parameters, I thought that a good start will be to look at how network-admin works.

Networking :: Existing Application Models For NS2 (Network Simulator)?

Jun 22, 2010

I am an undergraduate student doing some work in Cambridge, MA on NS2. As my project/paper relates to simulating different types of applications like FTP, RTP, and SIP, as they relate to commercial products (VoIP, email, bittorrent, http) and congestion, I was wondering if anyone knows of any simulation models already available besides the example ones released by NS2 and the contributed code found at [URL]. Also, does anyone know of any tcl scripts that simulate specific applications (including the transport layer and Internet layer)? I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and NS2 2.34

However, when I run Starcraft with hamachi running, it does not work. I have now determined that hamachi creates a network interface called "ham0". Fedora Networking :: Bridged Networking And NetworkManager - No Network Connection Because Network Isn't Managed

Mar 2, 2011

I have installed qemu/kvm and created a Bridged network connection which works just fine(Windows 7 VM won't work in NAT mode.)

But when I try to use NetworkManager it says that I have no network connection because the network isn't managed, (I set the settings in ifcfg-br0 and ifcfg-eth0 to be managed)

The real problem is that now I can't use my VPN connections (I have many) in NetworkManager.

Is there a way to have both of these pieces of functionality?

I am using FC14

Networking :: Fedora 11 Gnome Application Can't Connect To Socket Port 8005

Jul 3, 2009

I have an x application I am trying to run under gnome. It assumes a fixed ip address and exclusive use of the eth0. I have run it under gnome on RHEL 5.3. I set the ip address and ifconfig confirms the correct address. When I run it I get "SocketConnect() error:

Resource temporarily unavailabele, port 8005. (on the terminal that I started it)

This is indicative that it has failed to make a connection to the outside world. One difference I notice between the non-working and the working is that, the error message seems to stop coming out on the fedora gnome, almost immediately, whereas on the other installations it will come out indefinitely until it connects. is virb0 interferring. What is different in the networking on fedora 11 then RHEL?
