Fedora Installation :: Install Flash Player With LiveCD - Getting Error?
Dec 9, 2009
I want to view movies and livestream on the Internet and I tried many times installing the flash player for my fedora liveCD but still its not working. There always been an error. I been using all the options and installation instruction posted on the adobe site but still I can't find my way in.
I'm new to the world of linux, about 3 days old. I decided to go with Fedora for my first try. I have it installed and now trying to install flash player bot adobe, and gnash but with now success. How do I get this done, I already have it downloaded on my pc but don't know any commands to run this thing.
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
I forced an install for flash player 10 and now I tried removing and installing the free flash player thingy and now getting this error in the screenshot below:
I know this sounds a bit very basic but how do I install flashplayer on firefox , my issue is when I go to [URL] i get the following message "Hello, either you have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." so I follow the link it downloads flash player and even install it but nothing seems to work in ..... or flash site .
I have problem with installing flash plugin in ubuntu 9.10. I tried it through synaptic package manager, there it shows connecting to archive, canonical site and it will not proceed after that.
I've tried using synaptic, didn't work. Tried completely removing it with the synaptic and then installing it again using apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree. didn't work either.
I've looked around a lot and I have yet to find anything helpful.
In synaptic and in terminal i get this: "Sub-process usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code(1)"
I don't really know what it means.
I read somewhere i should locate libflashplayer.so and copy it to the chromum-browser folder (i use chromium) so i ran code...
So it seems it's already in the right place. So i tried using this code...
i also checked the about: plugins page in chromium. I found the option to disable/enable "VLC multimedia plugin" under which i found "video/flv - flash-video". it was already enabled.
I am running F13 64 bit . I tried to install Adobe Flash Player, which downloads a adobe down loader, this didn't work the first time and when I try to re-download the package installer in Gnome says its already installed. I am stuck as to what to do next I can use terminal etc, I not a complete noob, fairly noob but not totally. I just need a poke in the right direction.
Flash player won't work in my newly installed Fed 12 64. libflashplayer.so is in /usr/lib/flash-plugin /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins contains a symlink to the file.
I thought maybe this was a permissions thing. I changed owner to me. No good. I read some other threads about clashes 32 bit/64 bit. Is this the problem? It worked fine before I had to do a new install.
After a hiatus, I'm fussing with Fedora again. I'm using the 64 bit version of R13. A screen popped up saying I needed to apply fixes to the installion. The maintenance process fails, when tried several times.
FWIW, I get an analogous error associated with packages trying to install Flash into FireFox.
Is it possible that the package archive has been corrupted?
i am running lubuntu and i have google chromium. i went to videos today, and i add to install adobe flash player, i tried downloading all type of ways (from the options list) but nothing work, how do i install adobe flash player on lubuntu?
FireFox told me to upgrade Adobe Flash Player when I tried to view YouTune's videos, but after I tried twice to download (open directly) it from Adobe, it still didn't work.
The first time I opened 'YUM for Linux', then I tried again the '.rpm for Linux' file, all installed automatically.
Tried installing flash player plugin, but Firefox says it can't install it. I installed manually, restarted firefox, but it still tells me I'm missing the plugin.
I just installed F11KDE, and I am trying to get it to run Flash content in Firefox. I have been searching for solutions for well over an hour and have found nothing that works. How can I get my installation of the Firefox browser to play Flash content. How do I install it? I have tried
# yum install flashplug-in or something to that effect, as well other attempts of different varieties, i.e.-rpm, yumex. Nothing is working.
i recently installed fedora on my eeepc1000hd and im having problems installing simple programs. for example i download limewire or flash player for ..... and when they download they open up in the archive manager instead of opening up witht the install client.
For some reason (hardware - I am guessing) the LiveCD does not boot on some laptops. The LiveCD worked well on my Dell Inspiron 1525 without any problems but my Fujitsu-Siemens refused to boot up. If you are trying to install or use F12 with the LiveCD ISO image burnt onto a CD on a laptop and fails with the following error:[drm:drm_mode_rmfb] *ERROR* tried to remove a fb that we didn't own Boot has failed, sleeping foreverthis workaround may work for you. Sometimes it will come up with another error about 'Root Device Not Found'
The workaround only works on a bootable USB key for some other reason, created with 'live-usb creator' and not a CD nor a LiveCD image on a USB created on a windows machine. I have tried them all.
In my F12 box, whenever I open ..... in firefox, it says either Java is disable OR install latest version of Adobe flash player. I checked in firefox prefrences menu and and there I see already Java / java-script checkbox in checked for enable and along with it I have the latest flash player installed as per the manual install suggested by the missing plugin notifier.
I have installed flashplayer to my fedora and tried to watch videos which need flashplayer but it wont start. Its seems like my system have installed flashplayer but can't find plugin from mozilla. Tried to check if plugin exists but no. Tried to install it again but no.. same problem again.
