Dec 21, 2010I tried to install the adobe flash player on 10.10, the plugin for mozilla, it gave me an error, but showed it was installed, so I tried to remove it, and it gave me this error :

Debian :: Iceweasel - Installing Adobe Flash Player Plugin
Aug 9, 2009i am a proud newbie user of debian linux. the desktop i use is xfce. i have iceweasel as the web browser. it cannot access flash content like videos videos and some others because the adobe flash plugin is not installed. i've done the following without success. i downloaded flash_player_10_linux.tar from adobe's site, unpacked it to get libflashplayer.so. but under /usr/lib/iceweasel, there is no plugins folder to put it in. there is, however, a broken link called plugins. then i created a plugins folder under home/myaccount/.mozilla and pasted the libflashplayer.so file over there. i restarted iceweasel, but it cannot still detect flash content.
then i ran apt-get install of jre and downloaded all java packages. however, while installation it gave an error saying, "cannot overwrite iceweasel/plugins". this came most probably because as mentioned earlier there is no plugins folder under iceweasel to begin with. on running the about : plugins command, i get "no plugins installed". i then deleted the plugins folder from .mozilla and directly pasted the libflashplayer.so file under usr/lib/iceweasel (since it contained many other .so files). how to enable iceweasel to enable the adobe flashplayer plugin.

May 9, 2011I am using Fedora 14 right now and i can't figure out how to put in adobe flash player into the plugin repositories of the browser.
Does anyone know how to get it working so I can view ..... videos and or any other media file? Maybe step by step from the start? I downloaded adobe flash player version 10.2.159.1 all ready. I don't know if I should uninstall it then reinstall... Well enough of my rambling I'll let the veteran users have the final say.

Mar 27, 2011Today I installed an upgrade through update manager of the Adobe Flash Player Plugin and it breaks the flash in all three of my browsers: Firefox, Opera and Chromium. Had to revert to previous version to get it to work. Ubuntu Version 10.10 i386 Sony Viao Laptop.

May 21, 2010i am running ubuntu 10.04 i installed ubuntu restricted extras, and i went on videos. although i can view the video, i can't click on pause, the volume controls, or seek through the video, or put it into fullscreen mode. i went into the software center and searched "adobe flash player", and it came up with adobe flash plugin 10. it doesn't have an "install" button on it, so i double-clicked it, and it said " sorry, 'adobe flash plugin 10' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)."

Jun 25, 2010Just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to point me to a link for the adobe flash plugin version previous to version 10.1 for i386. I don't have anything in /var/cache/yum/i386/12/adobe-linux-i386/packages/ because I think I cleared yum's cache. I'm experiencing major regressions with flash 10.1, stuttering videos and some videos no longer play. Version 10.1 is a major disaster for adobe. It really is appalling for an update. Also, if anyone else is experiencing flash version 10.1 issues, please share and if anyone is considering upgrading to it, my advice is keep the old one handy, you will likely need it.

Then, when I click the Dump File of where I archived the adobe flash player, it states "No Packages were given for installation".So Now it does not want to run itself on the kernel, but I also noticed that there is a "Adobe v10 Bug" right next to where the rpm package was archived. Is there something I might have overlooked?
