FireFox told me to upgrade Adobe Flash Player when I tried to view YouTune's videos, but after I tried twice to download (open directly) it from Adobe, it still didn't work.
The first time I opened 'YUM for Linux', then I tried again the '.rpm for Linux' file, all installed
automatically.
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.

I checked in firefox prefrences menu and and there I see already Java / java-script checkbox in checked for enable and along with it I have the latest flash player installed as per the manual install suggested by the missing plugin notifier.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi am running ubuntu 10.04 i installed ubuntu restricted extras, and i went on videos. although i can view the video, i can't click on pause, the volume controls, or seek through the video, or put it into fullscreen mode. i went into the software center and searched "adobe flash player", and it came up with adobe flash plugin 10. it doesn't have an "install" button on it, so i double-clicked it, and it said " sorry, 'adobe flash plugin 10' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)."

Then, when I click the Dump File of where I archived the adobe flash player, it states "No Packages were given for installation".So Now it does not want to run itself on the kernel, but I also noticed that there is a "Adobe v10 Bug" right next to where the rpm package was archived. I have been searching for solutions for well over an hour and have found nothing that works. How can I get my installation of the Firefox browser to play Flash content. How do I install it? # yum install flashplug-in or something to that effect, as well other attempts of different varieties, i.e.-rpm, yumex. Nothing is working.
It should be easy, but Adobe's page for Linux downloads has a choice of about five different downloads. I tried one and it gave me some files I don't know what to do with. I do already have Flash on my computer, which I got from the Ubuntu software centre, and it works for most things but some things tell me I need a newer version.
