I need to install the Perl DBI and DBI::mysql modules at Amazon Web Services. Perl 5.8.8 is installed there as part of the default Fedora linux that comes with an EC2 instance. I am not familiar with Fedora, but have been using Linux for a good while.If anyone could tell/show/direct me to the quickest way to do this.

I have installed perl5.12.3 in a custom location, ( a NFS share). I have all the libraries created in the same location. This was an attempt not to disturb existing version of perl. I have succeeded doing this.Now, I need to install around 200 perl modules. I tried Bundle option in CPAN shell, it somehow did not work. Does anyone here know off any other better method of installing multiple perl modules. How do I use CPANPLUS to install all the modules. What changes do I make to Config.pm considering custom location of perl installation I have done.

I finally got Apache and perl up and running, but my Perl scripts don't run because of the lack of Perl libraries.I have been able to use yum install thus far to get what I need which is a terrific tool when it works. I note there is a specific tool named 'cpan', and of course one can download libraries directly from the cpan.org website.Unfortunately, I have tried to download perl libaries from yum the cpan library from yum, and in each case I get:

I installed the package just as the readme said including all the dependencies. I'm attempting to set up a GIMP scripts for batch operations on groups of image files. Initially I started reading about the Script-Fu syntax but it looked too convoluted (at least for me, with 15 years of Perl experience at work) in a way it does the simpliest of things so I attempted to use Perl instead of Script-Fu. From reading the docs I see that I need to install "Gimp::Fu" Perl module. I installed "cpan" first, started it and issued the command:

I've used yum (and rpm) for some time now, and have finally run into one of those dependency problem. I am trying to install git (among other programs), and I have reach an empass. Nothing I've tried has worked, and I just know there is a simple solution to this that I just don't know. It all started by skipping a dependency in the past (don't remember the package). I figured there would be something to clean that up, so I just continued.

If I need to, I could go and download the RPM package and install it that way, but I'd like to get YUM back working properly.
I have a CD with the Fedora 14 ISO burned. It doesn't appear to have perl installed on it. (Open a terminal, type "perl" and press Enter, and get the "Command not found." response.)Further, once I install to the hard drive and boot from it, run the updates and let them complete, and reboot, I still don't seem to have perl and I can't find a package for fc14 that would install perl.I must be the only one having this problem because I don't see any references to this and somebody would have noticed by now, but is there anyone who can tell me what I might have done wrong?

I am trying to install 11.2 on a system with RAID-1 /boot partition and RAID-10 /(root) partition. I have done this before with 10.3 but am hitting a wall with 11.2. In particular, the boot image loads and then halts when it tries to load the RAID-10 root partition saying that the personality is not laoded. modprobe shows that the raid10 module does not appear to be part of the boot image. I cannot find anything in the installation that will allow me to specify a module to include in the init image. How do I tell the installer to include an additional module?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to install module em28xx in a Slackware 12.0 installation that has been operating for several years. This is the em28xx that is part of the Slackware 12.0 distribution itself (kernel 2.6.21.5).
Unfortunately, although em28xx is fine, modprobe has a problem with dependent module i2c-core, which is generating an "Invalid module format" message. The system is using the generic Slackware 12.0 kernel, not the huge kernel.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've installed openSuse 11.4 server-mode (text only) on my desktop, and I'm trying to configure IceWM so i'll eventually have it set up so it always boots into text only mode, but I could be able to quickly start icewm via the command line.using Yast, I installed the Xorg server, and icewm.when I type X, the screen goes black and it just doesn't seem to do anythingI found if I hit ctrl+alt+f1 it kinda puts me back into text only mode, but I can't put in commands anymore. The last thing it says on the screen is:

I've goggled that error message and the discussions that popped up around it made no sense to me at all. I've never configured X from scratch before, can someone point me towards a tutorial or something?
I had the 180.xxx nvidia drivers on my FC10 setup.I installed the 185.xxx and am running into issues. It gives me the fatal server error: no screens found message. Before that it says that the nvidia kernel module is 180.xxx and the driver component has 185.xxx. I can't seem to figure out how to uninstall the previous module to make this work. I removed the yum kmod nvidia. I'm running this using sh nvidia.185xxx.xxxx.run . The weird thing is that it sometimes would work but then I would restart and it would break again.

modprobe dahdi returns: "FATAL: Module dahdi not found."
and dahdi_genconf finds no spans.
I have commented out the following line in /etc/modprobe.d/dahdi.blacklist.conf:
"#blacklist wcfxo", which I believe corresponds to the appropriate module.
However modprobe wcfxo indiates that module is not found. I have an up to date fc15 installation.
