Fedora Hardware :: Can't Get Netgear WNDA3100 V2 To Show Up On F13

I understand how to log in as root and change file properties and that's pretty much it
I'm trying to get the Netgear 3100 v2 Wireless-N Dual Band usb card to show up so I can connect wirelessly to my router but my computer isn't showing it in the devices menu (I've tried to ndiswrapper the drivers from my win7 partition but that didn't work)
if I do lsusb I get Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9011 NetGear, Inc. WNDA3100(v2) 802.11n but I can't find it in the network configuration
I am trying to get a NetGear WNDA3100 working on another computer with ubuntu. I've searched and searched, but all the threads and answers say to install some ndiswrapper thing. One problem with that though- the desktop doesn't have any adapters at all, I'm trying to install the WNDA3100 just to get internet in the first place. I have no internet, cannot download and install anything, and I can't use any apps or commands that don't come with the default Ubuntu 10.04. Please help me out here!

Unfortunately, I still end up having wlan0 attempting to connect, prompting for my password, trying to connect then prompting for my password (ad infinitum).
I changed my network security from WPA to WEP and now my card works fine. why this might be happening (i.e. why WEP works but WPA doesn't?)
This installed my Netgear WG311v3 Wi-Fi card on this machine using Fedora 14 x86_64 it took me a while to do so in the future I can (hopefully) follow this guide myself in the future and for anyone who is having problems. First thing you need to do is make sure your system and kernel is up-to-date:

Ok, i know. there should have been a backup. I came that far... but not beyond. I have bought a STORA MS2000 and 2 x 2TB WD EARS Harddisk. Except a couple of troubles that i had to go through with it - it finally worked. It did for 3 months. I have moved the NAS from one room to another and when i reattached it ... i all of a sudden didnt work anymore.
Tick, tick ... tick ... just like it would have a head-crash. I attached the disks to my iMac just to know what they sound there. Of course the iMac couldnt reat the disks. The disk-utility just let me know that the file-system is XFS (so far i knew) .. and then they are striped. So i knew i wouldnt be able to retrieve my data there ..
My question now. Since i dont think that my harddisks have a serious damage - how in on Gods Earth could i save my data from an XFS striped volume that was taken out of a STORA MS 2000?
I hope i wont loose all my data now ... but dont know if i would have any success to setup a Linux-PC and then have to look for the right software or even buy a card or so ...
I cannot connect to internet. I just installed Fedora 12 w/ the Live CD and I have a Linksys WMP54G Wireless Card (v4.1 I believe) and it apparently installed fine upon install of fedora. It will not thought connect to the internet. It reads my connect (NETGEAR-2.4-G), my router is a Netgear WNDR3300. It worked perfectly fine on Windows XP. Like I said, it picks up my wireless connection. But when I go to connect it attempts to connect for like a minute or two then goes back to not connected.
I have a problem with Netgear Wireless WG311v3 card and it is not listed in "ifconfig -a". Network Manager does not see the Netgear card either, just eth0 the onboard wired NIC. Here is the result of lspci.
I recently installed Fedora 14 and am unable to configure my Netgear WG111v3 wireless adapter in KDE However XFCE and Gnome work fine. Has anybody had this problem?
I just installed Fedora 12 on my HP a430n PC.I used to run Fedora 10, then moved to Linux Mint 7, then to Ubuntu 9.10 and now I am back to Fedora because I want to become more adept with manual package installation and adding repos.When I ran Fedora 12 immediately after then install, before running yum update PackageKit or the software update, it would use my wireless adapter (Netgear WG111v2) and connect to and stay connected to a network just fine. No hiccups.After running the updates and restarting the computer, the wlan won't stay connected for longer than 20 seconds, which is frustrating when trying to install mp3 codecs.
This seems to be a bug in the latest driver update for the WG111v2, but I might be wrong. Anyone have a fix or a way to revert back to the initial driver (I don't know what the original wireless driver was called).
I am having some difficulties installing a wireless usb adapter on Fedora 12. the usb adapter is: Netgear WN111v2 Wireless-N USB adapter and it has the chipset: Atheros AR9100AP. I configured it to use IMAP to access our exchange 2010 server front end on a LAN connection. Our webmail connection is segregated behind Forefront, so it was not connecting/authing that way. Even though smartphones have no problem. (sidenote, is there an activesync linux mail client ?)
I have many root folders and several folders underneath my inbox. total mailsize in inbox is 3.5 GB without subfolders. The sent is likewise as large. And is likewise empty.
Things I checked already: View is all Folder subscription is on and local copy is on
More info: Thunderbird worky fine. But thunderbird is missing calender Tried adding lightening, but it won't add into thunderbird. Will try finding a diff add on, or if anyone knows how to get lightening into thunderbird 3.1.8 on ubuntu 10 that would be great as well.
Anyway since I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 when I right-click on something and there is another menu in that menu, it doesn't show up for the first time!
for example if I want to create a an "Empty File", I'll right-click on desktop and when I want to go to "Create Document" menu, it doesn't show up! so I must click somewhere else and try again so for the second time it works!!
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0846:9040 NetGear, Inc.So I think it's correctly recognizing it, but for some reason it won't identify it as a wireless USB NIC. I'm trying to install without a wired connection (several rooms away from a wire, and this is an old tower), so any help there would be nice, if not, then any advice on what to do when I get it hardwired would be nice. I have the Live CD to try this with. I also have a second CD/DVD, and have it installed/working on XP on the box (which after I get wireless working I'll be replacing),so I have the .inf file if anyone can direct me to using ndiswrapper for it. Let me know what else you need to know.
I was just wondering because it has not yet become a problem. How would I access my Netgear MR314 router when I don't use Internet Explorer anymore? I used to access the software and make changes in port forwarding and even turn on/off wireless.
WG111v2 USB that works just fine on my Ubuntu 12.04 Dell can't connect on my Debian Gigabyte. It finds the network name just fine, remembers its password, and tries to connect 3 times before giving up. This tower is 4 days old, as is the OS.
I have problems connection my wg111v2 to my AP. I am running opensuse 11.2 with kernel 2.6.31.12-0.2 The AP itselfe is working fine - as I am using it to access the inet with it from my laptop. However I also tried different channels and encryption schemes with no result. But with my Desktop it is really strange. When I boot up it seems as if I have a connection for a short time (I can start loading a webside but it will stop in the process before it is finished). I have managed to connect to the above NAS using the supplied RAIDar software from my base unit. The unit is duel boot with Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows XP. Both operating systems work with the NAS both by wireless and wired using RAIDar and any other relevant programme
However my laptop, running Ubuntu, will not find it using Raidar, the IP address in a browser nor with a file manager or any other programme. I have tried both wired and wireless connections
However if I go to "places" from the top bar, which opens Nautilus, I can access it and all the files on it.
I have been checking threads, Google etc. from what I have gathered I might have wasted my money on the Netgear adapter, I have not had any problems connecting to the network but I am operating at 54 MBs on my Realtek internal adapter

Which one of the above is the realtek and which one is the NETGEAR? This is my first post, and I don't know if this is too much info to place in a message. Also if anyone responds with help, could you please comment with an explanation of any commands, I am new to Linux, but I am real happy and impressed and really don't wish to be a Windoean anymore, I wish to become a full fledged Linuxean.
I am running the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 10.10 that I have dual booted with a 32-bit version of Windows 7 and can't seem to get my Netgear WN311B wireless adaptor to work while I am in Ubuntu but obviously works fine in Windows.
I've been searching for help on this issue, and I've tried some things, but I can't get my connection to work.I can see the available networks, and the LED on my device is on, but when I try to connect it can't connect and asks me for the network security key again.I've installed and run the ath9k-htc installer, but I noticed no change when I did so. Is there a step I'm missing?

I use Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope.I have been trying to configure a NETGEAR DGN1000 modem router. my manual says that to access the modem for configuration, I should "Type URL... in the address field of [my] browser, and then click Enter."my browser, though, does not seem to find any such page and so I cannot continue the configuration. btw, we had no problem configuring another computer in the house running on windows vista, so that it looks like the cables are all in place, the modem and the line are ok.
Get a Realtek rtl8187l based usb-adapter (such as netgear wg111v2) work in linux is not tricky, but how to get high tx power and driver stability?
You could have tried ndiwrapper, as i did, and got stuck with a kernel module pretty buggy and crashy, or could have just used the common native driver, without hi-power feature.
To achieve my zen state, i had to work around with a base native driver, a feature-filling patch to apply to it, and the only working kernel supposed to work with, 2.6.27.
That's a brief step by step path:
get the base driver (rtl8187 in our case) and decompress: [URL]
get the featuring patch "rtl8187_2.6.27.patch" from: [URL] and extract it in the base driver directory
then apply it with: ~$ patch -Np1 -i rtl8187_2.6.27.patch
remove old modules, compile and install new one (as root)
~# rmmod r8187 rtl8187 ~$ make ~# make install
Now you should have a new net device (wlan#) under iwconfig you can use as usual.
To turn on the hi-power capability: ~# iwpriv wlan0 highpower 1
and set the transmission power value (may be dangerous, see below): ~# iwconfig wlan0 txpower <value of 0 to 35> # i use 30, should be around one watt
and wuel you're done you have your pen running strong and stable on the 2.6.27 kernel.

It auto-detected the card, but it's only operating at 100mb/s. It's connected to a gigabit switch. The driver auto-installed for the card is r8169. How do i get it up to the speed is should be at? Its kinda why i bought it...
I have installed a Netgear WG111v3 wireless USB networking adapter on an OpenSUSE 11.3 system. I'm using ndiswrapper to run the Windows driver. Using the "Network Settings" GNOME applet (says "Network Settings - YaST" in the title bar) it shows that I have the adapter installed as wlan0, but it's not connected. However, if I go to the "Network Tools" applet (says "Devices - Network Tools" in the title bar) and select "Wireless Interface (wlan0)" from the drop-down, it says that I have an IPv4 address of 192.168.1.104. This is a plausible address that my router could have served. However, I cannot use the network interface from the box itself.
I have a bought a Netgear Wireless N-150 router WGR614v10. I am using my net connection via PPPoE wired on a Win 7 machine and the connection was flawless the MAC address on the router is of the Win 7 machine.
My problem is that I have an old machine PIII 600Mhz 398MB SD Ram on VectorLinux 6.0....I tried connecting the internet directly with PPPoE the connection worked fine and I could connect through the net...but now after installing the router the machine is not detected by the router(Wired). only my Win 7 (Wired) machine and my android phone (wireless) is shown in attached devices and the VectorLinux machine is not shown....
The lan card light is on on the VectorLinux machine.
