I am using Fedora 15. When I try to play an mp3 file (that's all I have) on Audacious, I get the error "No decoder found for file:///<some_song>.mp3". Edit: I think I should mention that I have enabled the testing repository, and there was an update on June 30.
I just updated Audacious to 2.4.3, and now when I try to play mp3's, I get this: No decoder found for file "my song." Ogg files still play fine though. I know I can downgrade, but I'd rather this just be fixed.
Ok so I have some music that I have burned from cds, within windows, I have them in a wma format. The video player, handles those songs just fine. However I really enjoy using the Audacious player. Whenever I try to run in Audacious,Is there a way to update the decoders for audacious specifically, either through the repo or CLI?
When I'm trying to play an .mp4 file I get the message "you need modules MPEG-4-decoder and H.264-decoder". When searching for these message is "cannot be found". I'm running Fedora13 32-bits.
Salutations,I've been struggling with getting audacious working for the past hour. I'm using synaptic to install it. When trying to run it from the bash, I'm getting the following error:
Code: audacious: error while loading shared libraries: libmowgli.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.I tried to make /usr/lib/libmowgli.so->libmowgli.so.1 link, but it didn't help. Tried reinstalling audacious/libmowgli and a few others packages, but in vain, too.
I tried to use Totem and Rhythmbox to play an mp3 file but it fails because of a missing decoder. I have found a solution that solve the problem through a repository. Unfortunately, the PC I'm using doesn't have internet connection so I'm looking for another approach. I couldn't find any rpm that would work for CentOS I could copy the my Linux system?
I just wanted to post this really quick. I just installed Fedora 12 and I have been playing around with it a bit. (it's my first taste of Linux) I noticed right off the bat that I needed an MP3 decoder and was having a hard time finding one. Then I found a free Legal mp3 decoder at the following address. They also offer a Fedora specific installer (.rpm) So if anybody needs a decoder, here is a good one.Since it's a free decoder I was wondering if it might be included in future Fedora releases?
I can't get the MPEG decoder plug in so i can listen to my tunes that I have in itunes on my windows os. When I go search to find the plug in it searches for it but then says "Could not find plugin in any configured software source" Please help because I would enjoy fedora a lot better if i could listen to my music. I use to have Kubuntu, but I switched to fedora because Kubuntu was having the same problem. Once again please help, and remember I'm new.
Whane I try to View a DVD I get the message that a DVD subpicture Decoder is needed to play the DVD But even though the initial overview clip starts playing? How can I able to play the DVD with out having to jump from one .vob file to another. RPM Repositories Both Free and Non free are installed?
I'm trying to view .mov files using Totem 2.16.7 with GStreamer 0.10.20 and GNOME but am getting an error that I don't have a decoder installed. What exactly do I need to get to fix this error?
if this is not the place for this thread, change the location. I have this problem while opening .flv files with movie player. On its open it asks me to search for the plugin to play the video. But it cant find it.How to install this plugin?
Status update: Latest builds including a few more fixes will hit updates-testing with the next push: [URL] This time, karma automatism is enabled, so the update will hit the stable updates repo after either +3 votes or after 7 days. Regardless of whether the -freeworld packages are available. Those are being worked on as well, but since RPM Fusion doesn't build their packages against Test Updates, it seems they don't spend the extra effort on pulling the Test Updates into their buildroot and instead wait till those get marked stable.
I use Fedora 10.Whenever i try to open an avi file with VLC player I get the error 'No suitable decoder module for fourcc XVID'.How can I remove this error?
-xmms does support the "Expensive Hi Fi", wich as i told i've allreday installed and works.
-Xmms doesn't support the "Analog Vu Meter Plugin" for that skin, wich i don't know were to download(i only am able to see the images of it at [url]?content=49220"-3rd picture bellow, left side-the "Sony Vu's").
-The http page refers the skins and the plugin to KDE graphic environment, i'm using GNOME, and i'm not shure that this may make any difference.
-After the exausting net reading, i think...?, that Audacious does support the "Expensive Hi Fi" and the "Analog Vu Meter Plugin".
As i told, i don't give up that easy, and Audacious seems to be some upgrade or evolution of Xmms, and it as that "retro classic" look that i like and can be personalized like Xmms.
So, i've allready installed Audacios, with all the necessary codecs and libraries, and it's working so well as Xmms worked.
But know i'm having another problem :
-To personalize skins in Audacious(...more exausting net reading...), the operation should be so easy as:
-For any skin that we want(*.wal;*.wsz or compressed one's...), download it and copy it into:/users/share/audacious/Skins, wich i've allready tried(such as skins pasted into .xmms), but i get this error message:"Permission denied"!
Whereas former 2.4.0 can. I just find that audacious says it cannot decode *.ape after upgrade from repository. Here are what I installed relates to audacious and its plug-ins,
I have installed Audacious and audacious-plugins-freeworld-mp3 on F15. MP3 support now works (i.e.: mp3 files are being played) but audacious does not show me the scroll bar/widget with which I can move within a track. The horizontal line of said widget is being displayed but it's not showing the button which marks the offset within a track and clicking on the horizontal line has no effect.
My music library contains some old .wma files and each time I try to run Rhythmbox, a window pops up saying that:
<Name of current song> requires an Additional plugin. The following plugin is required: Windows Media Audio Decoder. Do you want to search for this now ?
If I press the search button I get a response saying that the package was not found. Then I press the close button, only to see the same dialog popping up again. The funny thing is that all this is happening while the current songs is not in WMA format and it is actually playing
I am running fedora 11 and have configured both rpm-fusion and livna repositories.
I am getting and error on my Fedora Core 12 desktop when I try to boot that says " Error 15: File not Found Press any Key to continue."When I press any key, its take me to the Grub boot loader screen. When I choose a kernel to load, it then takes me back to the black screen that says "Error 15: File not Found Press any key to continue".The last time I had the desktop booted I was using the Gnome disk analyzer and the system froze so I had to perform a hard reboot. Thats when the error started occurring.
when i got play any movie or song i got some error which show below error:The playback of this movie requires a MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) decoder plugin which is not installed.
I am getting a message at my first re-boot after install of "Error 15: File Not Found", and that's as far as it goes. I just installed Fedora 11 on a Drive that I had recently ran Ubuntu 9.04. I did re-partition and format the drive. I am also running Win XP Pro on another drive, and can boot from either. The computer is older, but all the hardware seemed to work fine with Ubuntu and altough I had to format the install drive a couple times the installation seemed to go ok.
After preupgrading without problems, I did not reboot the computer inmediatly. I was surprised that, although preupgrade had finished, the terminal window was yet active and I closed it. On reboot, in the Grub window, one of the options is "Actualizar a (upgrade to) Fedora 14". If I select it I get: "Booting 'Actualizar a Fedora 14 (Laughlin)'
kernel /upgrade/vmlinuz preupgrade repo=hd::/var/cache/yum/preupgrade ks=hd:UUID=02f7302b-aa56-4c33-b533- fa1549aa0860:/upgrade/ks.cfg stage2=hd:UUID=02f7302b-aa56-4c33-b533-fa1549aa0860:/upgrade/install.img initrd /upgrade/initrd.img Error 15: File not found Press any key to continue....."
and pressing a key it returns to the Grub window. The /upgrade directory doesn't exist, but it does the /boot/upgrade where the vmlinuz is. uninstall and reinstall the preupgrade, rebooting inmediatly, but I don't know how to uninstall and if this is the solution. How can I uninstall the preupgrade?
When I try to rpm --resign a package I get file not found error. Its not misstyping its not doing any gpg stuff and it does not ask for passphrase.I then rpmbuild -ba --sign X.specIt makes all the files and dies right where it signs the filesWhy i know its the .rpmmacros it never asks for a passphrase! If I build without --sign it builds 100% and exits normally.
I have been trying now for 3 days to install Fedora 15 on my computer. I have Windows 7 installed and have created a free partition for this install. When I am installing I get to the repository selection part and I get only 3 options (Fedora 15, Fedora 15 Testing, Fedora 15 Updates), by default the Fedora 15 and Fedora 15 Updates are selected. There is no option for DVD Repository and if I click add repository and select DVD it says no repository found. Furthermore, if I proceed with the 2 default repositories checked off it takes about 8 hours to download everything online and then towards the end it says it couldn't retrieve a file and exit installation. How to use the DVD to get all the packages so that my install doesn't keep taking 8 hours to fail?
This is the 64bit version I am trying to install, system specs: Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz 16.0 GB Ram ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series 1 TB Harddrive The original DVD I got from the direct download. I also downloaded via torrent to see if that worked and got the same results.
Just upgraded from UBUNTU to FEDORA 11. Installed most add on programs such as cacti & mysqld using YUM INSTALL. With help of 'scottro', I finally got cacti running, but still finding errors (most problems caused by different directory locations in this particular distro).
snmpwalk Binary Path The path to your snmpwalk binary. [ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND] snmpget Binary Path The path to your snmpget binary. [ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND] snmpbulkwalk Binary Path The path to your snmpbulkwalk binary. [ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND] snmpgetnext Binary Path The path to your snmpgetnext binary. [ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND]
Does anyone know where are these directories located in Fedora (11)? Is there a way to find where a directory is located (normally i use 'whereis' )? No such problems when using UBUNTU...
I've been trying to install the gmagick extension for days now without success. I always end up with the same error message:
checking GraphicsMagick configuration program... configure: error: not found. Please provide a path to GraphicsMagick-config program. ERROR: '/tmp/pear/temp/gmagick/configure --with-gmagick' failed
It's no wonder why I get this message as the location simply does not exists, its being unpacked to 'gmagick-1.0.3b2' and not 'gmagick'. I've tried to copy/paste the configuration file (config.m4?) to my manually created 'gmagick' directory within the temp folder but that didn't solve anything.
Defining tcsh aliases through a .aliases file has worked perfectly for me for years and years using cygwin and older versions of mandriva. I am encountering very annoying and mysterious problems when attempting to do the same thing with a .aliases file in a fedora 64-bit VM. Strangely, if I define aliases in the file, they won't work, but if I do so on the command line, then they will.
Here's a simple example: Suppose I define an alias for "ls" in the file: alias ls '/bin/ls' Then source the file. This happens: me: ls : Command not found. me: alias ls /bin/ls me: /bin/ls file1 file2 file3 etc. me: unalias ls me: ls file1 file2 file3 etc. me: alias ls '/bin/ls' me: ls file1 file2 file3 etc.
A second example: if I place either of these lines in my .aliases file: alias d '/bin/ls -alF !:1' alias d '/bin/ls -alF !*'and source the alias file, this happens:/ me: d Bad ! arg selector. However, if I define the alias on the command line: / me: alias d '/bin/ls -alF !*'then the alias behaves correctly:/ me: dtotal 376 drwxr-xr-x. 10 r r 4096 Apr 14 16:05 ./ drwxrwxr-x. 6 r r 4096 Feb 21 16:15 ../ drwxr-xr-x. 3 r r 4096 Apr 14 16:05 bin.v2/ -rwxr-xr-x. 1 r r 193872 Apr 14 15:35 bjam* -rw-r--r--. 1 r r 52804 Apr 14 17:20 bjam.my.log drwxr-xr-x. 77 r r 4096 Nov 17 09:49 boost/ -rw-r--r--. 1 r r 989 Nov 17 04:51 boost.css
