View 4 Replies View RelatedLet's say you have a presentation made in OO.o Impress and you have an audio record of the speaker, and you want to combine these two together into a nice video consisting basically of the presentation slides and the speaker's voice - how would you do it?
Would you export the presentation to flash (.swf file), then import it in a video editor (if so. which one?)?
Or would you rather export slides to individual pictures and import them one by one to a video editor (again, which one?)?
Is there an app that will take a .odp file (Open office presentation) and create a movie from it -- taking into consideration music and timing of slides in the presentation?

I have a Logitech QuickCam S7500. Or What camcorder to buy? What software do I need to upload to places like 'ustream', chat rooms, etc. The camera is recognized by 'Cheese', Pitivi, XrawTV, camorama. I get images of me on the screen.
have setup a LAMP server with ubuntu 10.04 server edition x86 for my study in VMware Workstation 7.1 For a assignment I had to make a php script that would load a file up to the server and set the name in a mysql database. According to the book the server should set the image in a cryptic folder in the /tmp/ folder.
This isn't working and i also try'd locate and find to find the image i uploaded. I checked the php.ini and file uploads were on but no folder so i set that one to /tmp/ but still no images. Can anyone help me with enabling this function?
I bought vps server and now I want to upload openssh public key. With this command:

View 9 Replies View RelatedI rent a dedicated virtual server (ve) from Media Temple. It is one of those servers where they give you the base OS install and then you have to install all of your own applications.
Anyways, setting up the FTP software for the server has been hell. I am using ProFTPd and Webmin 1.510. I am able to log into the FTP and upload files to any of the directories that I have created.
The issue here is that I cannot download anything from my server via FTP. I have tried multiple clients (Filezilla is what I use normally), but they all come back with "Transfer cannot be started".
I finally have my system to where I can connect to proftpd but my uploads fail. I think my problem lies in the upload folder. I do not really understand where to put it. Will someone look at this config file and tell me where to put it and what I need to do to get it working. A basic anonymous configuration, no upload directories.

I am using debian squeeze, with browsers chrome, firefox, and flashplugins installed.
I get online via ipv4 DSL, pppoe(I don't quite sure their relationships), I can browse websites, watch flash smoothly, can download softwares from websites to my desktop PC via the browser chrome or firefox with speed about 200kB/s, if I download an some 700MB ubuntu iso from ftp6.sjtu.edu.cn, it reaches 10MB/s.
The thing is, I can't upload files from my PC to online disks(say [url], [url] via browser (firefox, chrome etc), can't send email with an attach file even as small as 1MB via broser, can't post topics on this forum with attachment, can't upload pics to Facebook.
When I try do these "upload things", the web browser just stays there and doesn't refresh. Some online disks have a instant upload speed of 10kb/s ,then it quickly slow down to less than 200b/s, finally it stoped there ,and say "upload failed, network failure".
Here is my configuration files or test results.
A few months back I performed a routine aptitude upgrade on a Squeeze installation on a DELL Vostro desktop. My eth0 upload speed is now very bad although download speed is good. I suspect that it could be related to my other problem [URL] which was caused by the OS enabling noveau driver instead of the installed NVIDIA proprietary drivers.
dmesg says:
eth0: Tigon3 [partno(BCM57788) rev 577880001] (PCI Express) MAC address 00:26:2d:23:a0:a5
eth0: attached PHY driver [Broadcom BCM57780] (mii_bus:phy_address=300:01)
eth0: RXcsums[1] LinkChgREG[0] MIrq[0] ASF[0] TSOcap[1]
eth0: dma_rwctrl[76180000] dma_mask[64-bit]
Where do I start to troubleshoot?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright, so we have a customer that we plan on hooking up 2 Atom Nettops to TVs and having them display meal menus through powerpoint on them. They didn't come with Windows licenses and we are wanting to keep this cost low, so that's why we are doing this through Ubuntu. The plan so far is to ftp the .ppt file to each of the computers from a main Windows machine. I have the FTP servers up and running fine as well as VNC on both machines in case we need to access them. The path to the .ppt will remain static all the time so the filename and path will not change. Let's say it's called menu.ppt and it's located on the desktop of the user "user". I also have the 2 boxes automatically logging into the desktop. How can I launch this .ppt file on startup so that I don't have to touch the computer, just turn it on, and this menu.ppt will open and start playing? Or at the very least, open in OpenOffice or something of the sort and all the client has to do is VNC in and hit F5.

Is it possible to import a PPT presentation to LibreOffice or OpenOffice?
I am running openSUSE 11.4 with kde 4.6.0 and cannot get any sound when running LO Presentation files. The presentation files all have sound and/or background music and work well in both 'Windoze' and in PCLinuxOS. I am running these files on a laptop with ATI SB ALC 268 sound which is working ok.I have considered that it might be an LO version difference SUSE is 3.3 PCLInuxOS is 3.4 but the change logs I can locate, do not indicate any change that would have an influence!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an integrated intel video and latest xserver-xorg-video-intel driver(using only stable repo). Now I wanna watch high-res video. From the bits of info collected from all over internet I understood that I need to:
1.aptitude install libdrm libva.
2.compile or find the .deb mplayer-vaapi and install it.
3.add -vo vaapi -va vaapi to the mplayer command line in gnome-mplayer.
My question : is that correct or did I miss something? Do I have to compile latest libdrm and libva or the ones from the squeeze repo will be good? Do I need kms enabled, i.e. install firmware-linux-nonfree?
I've created a presentation as a series of .png images, one per slide. What is a good way to convert these into a .ppt (PowerPoint) that I can give to some audio-visual person? I'm entirely on Linux, with no Windows or Mac software available.(Or maybe PowerPoint isn't the only game in town for presentation file formats?)
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to Lucid, I've found that when using the OpenOffice Presentation in a full screen slide show, that the presentation itself does not maximize over the gnome panel anymore (I have a slideshow with my panel showing on top). Quite annoying.I am able to work around this by auto-hiding the panel, but would rather be ableo simply run the presentation without having to do so. I can't find anything in OO's settings to resolve this
