I want to find some interesting games but the complete list looks a bit daunting. I can search the web for this information but what would be even better is if I could search a category in order of popularity. Is there a way to do this? Categories can be found here: [URL]

Why is there none for wheezy? Is it a temporary dependency thing or...? I've googled this but there has been no kind of answer anywhere. Right now I'm using the frickelplatz apotsid repository as they package the most recent version of wine but if I could use a standard debian repository I would.

Right click on the name of the application, click Install/Update Package,nd it throws me this terminal window that asks: "Please enter root password". Now I'm sure that's my user password, but when I try to enter it.. nothing. My keyboard doesn't work. In the normal terminal window it works perfectly, but there I get nothing. Just wondered if anyone experienced the same problem, and the workaround.

recently I installed gDesklets with some minor problems that I fixed along the way.. But now that it finally works, I don't see all the categories? For example, the System/CPU category is missing etc.. Here is a screenshot of gDesklets Shell open:So, the problem is that it's not showing all the categories needed.. So, any advice? i did manage to install apt-get and was able to run synaptics ... but now whenever i try to run synaptics it flashes the interface and crashes. i tried apt-get search wget and it says invalid operation search. i tried apt cache wget and get a crash box in the upper right corner... i tried apt-get gtk+extra-2.1.2-4.fc14 and it says invalid operation gtk...
All of which is frustrating my attempts to get the GTK interface to J working. Their script uses WGET which i also cannot get.
I did a fresh lenny amd64 install from netinstall. I did not check standard system during installtion. Now I installed gnome and some other packages. Just one question,I can not use "?abc" to search abc in man page.(At the bottom of man page there is a "more") But I can do that if I install from a installtion CD1 with default opition. I have many different accounts set up on my icedove and sometimes I don't remember on which account I received the specific email I'm looking for, so I would like to be able to search through all my folders (say, absolutely all folders: all accounts, inbox, sent, trash, drafts, etc...).
Neither the quick filter toolbar, nor the "Search message" (Ctrl-Shift-F) feature seem to allow this. Now that's where the brand new shining "Global Search" (Ctrl-K) feature should be useful. However it does not seem to support partial match. So for instance if I'm looking for someone named "Lebenhaus GrossGrabenstein" but only remember that his name contains "Gross", the search through global search will return no result.
I'm pretty sure it was possible to do a proper search (with partial matching) accross all mails in previous versions of icedove, but I cannot find it anymore.
Right now the only workaround I have is to do a "grep -R" on my ~/.icedove folder, which is not very efficient and not flexible at all...
I have realized that in not installing suggested packages I've missed out on a ton of doc files, which would really come in handy while I'm away from internet access.
Is there a way take a list of currently installed packages and find out which of them have doc packages available? Possibly install them in a single step? I have been playing around with aptitude and apt-rdepends, but I'm not quite sure how to go about this. Somehow take a list of installed packages, run it through an apt-cache search, and end up with a list of -doc packages to install? My bash-fu isn't the greatest, and I suppose this could be a bad idea to begin with.
I've figured out that '~i !~M' will give me all packages I have manually installed. Can I formulate a query such that I get all packages manually installed from a particular distribution (e.g. Lenny, Squeeze, Sid)? Yes, I'm using pinning.

Dropbox folder is placed in /home/myusr/
All other subcontent folders in the home directory does show up in gnome search,

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs of today I can't seem to use the search feature of Nautilus (in GNOME 3). Say I open my home folder and press Ctrl-F to get the search bar. Whatever I type, as soon as I stop typing and Nautilus should start the search process, it just freezes completely. The cursor stops blinking and that's it, all I can do is run `killall nautilus` from a terminal. According to the System Monitor nothing is really using CPU.
