The browser has flashplugin installed previously. It has been working without problem before. For unknown reason it stops to work. Now I'm required to install Adobe Flash Player.I have"install_flash_player_10_ linux.deb" download on Adobe website. Whether I run dpkg to install the package?
Adobe Flash plugin stops suddenly when when playing videos from ...... I am using Fedora 13 on my machine, and have the latest Adobe Flash-player installed.
I've already went through the regular process of installation, adding the backports repository and doing the debian way installation, but somehow the system isn't assuming the plugin.
I've rebooted the web browser and even the entire system, but still the plugin does not work.
In my frustration to get adobe flash working in firefox I deleted the /usr/lib/flash-plugin folder. Now when I try to uninstall "Flash-Plugin" from YAST it fails as it can't find the sub-folder. I also cannot install the latest version of flash player as it says that it is already installed - So I am stuck in a loop.
I am running SUSE 11.2.
Is there a config file of installed programs that I can modify to remove the "Flash-Plugin" entry, or is there another way to get over this problem.
When I'm running a flash site like, Pandora, it stops working when I open another tab with flash running like, Hulu. Now it doesn't stop working right away but in time it does.
Then screen on that tab usually goes grey.
Now this doesn't happen all the time but enough to get me flustered.
i'm having problems with the flash plugin. a lot of sites that use flash for buttons and things just won't work. this happens a lot with videos videos posted on blogs and such, although they seem to work, mostly but not always, on the actual videos website. i didn't have this problem with earlier versions of flash, is it possible to downgrade the version i'm using? using 10.04lts 64 bit. i installed flash via synaptic, flashplugin-installer 10.1.82.76
I have never had a problem with flash plugin before. Just recently I decided to try gnash to see if it plays flash videos better then flash plugin (it doesn't). So I updated flash plugin from the 10.0 r32 version to the 10.0 r42 version and went under Tools > Add-ons > Plugins in Firefox and disabled the gnash plugin and re-enabled the flash plugin and now flash does not work any more. I've tryed uninstalling gnash, reinstalling flash plugin, reinstalling Firefox. Flash just will not work. Flash works in Google Chrome or if I run Firefox as root. I have Fedora 12 32bit
I disabled the new version of flash plugin (10.0 r42) and re-enabled the old version (10.0 r32) and now flash works. I dont understand the new version of flash plugin works but only in Google Chrome or if I run Firefox as root?! Also Firefox (as my user) shows both versions of flash plugin 10.0 r32 and 10.0 r42 Firefox as root and Google Chrome only show the new version.
I tried installed the flash-plugin with yum, and it looks like it installed successfully, but hitting a website like ..... still prompts me for the adobe firefox plugin.
[root@localhost greenwich]# yum --enablerepo=rmpforge install flash-plugin Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities Error getting repository data for rmpforge, repository not found [root@localhost greenwich]# yum --enablerepo=rpmforge install flash-plugin Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities
It's been a few hours since the Adobe Flash plugin on my Firefox is behaving in a strange way: some of the clickable dialogs do not work anymore. I click on them but nothing happens.
For example: in chatroulette, the dialog that asks for the permission to use the webcam can't be clicked:
Same happens for other flash sites. I'm using Firefox "Namoroka" v3.6.5pre and Flash 10.0r45
I dislike Iceweasel as it has older versions, so I installed Firefox 4.0.1 on my new install of Debian Sid. Downloaded the tar.bz2 package, unpacked it in opt, linked /usr/bin/firefox to /opt/firefox/firefox, figured out why it wasn't running (it needed ia32-libs-gtk), got it to run, and now it doesn't see the flash plugin. My usual technique was to put firefox in opt, close it, then aptitude-install flashplugin-nonfree, which pulled the plugin and made it work with both Iceweasel and Firefox. But right now, only Iceweasel has the flash plugin installed.
I found libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/; usually I'd try copying it in /opt/firefox/plugins, or ~/.mozilla/firefox/plugins, but neither of these directories exist. In fact, I can't seem to find a dedicated plugin directory anywhere firefox-related. What do I do?
I have downloaded the beta for Flash 10 for Linux. I unarchived the tarball and put it in my home directory. Where should I put the plugin file in order for my browsers to be able to use it?
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat 64-bit on my desktop with a wired internet connection (with no firewall). For the past 2 days, I have observed that1. Firefox randomly throws up errors like "Problem loading page" whenever I click on a hyperlink. When I click on Reload, the page loads up just fine. This has been happening a lot recently..and I do not remember updating anything consciously. By the way, ipv6 is disabled in Firefox.2. The network stops working all of a sudden (usually indicated by the Firefox error). The Autho Eth0 indication is active, but I am unable to connect to any external machine.
3. Needless to say, this error is manifesting itself in apt-get as well. I get "something wicked happened" errors all the time, and am unable to download or install anything. That this is not a problem with the ISP is obvious because I also have Windows (from which I'm typing this, ironically), which is able to access the internet. Is this a bug in Ubuntu 10.10?
I recently upgrade to Jessie and instead of installing Chrome from the google site I decided it was best to install Chromium from the Debian contrib and/or non-free repositories. After installing I then found that i had to install the pepperflash plugin. I find that viewing flash content ( I wanted to watch the SpaceX launch from the NASA website this morning) is almost impossible. The sound comes through okay, but the video comes through at about one frame per second. Fortunately I had Iceweasel as a backup.
Since Chromium does not support the NPAPI flash plugin, that is used by Iceweasel, are there other options? I can delete Chromium and install Chrome but I have heard there are issues with Chrome and Jessie. Perhaps I should just give up on Chrome/Chromium altogether, even though I think the web page presentation is much better with Chrome.
Things I have tried: Uninstall and reinstall the pepperflash plugin Changed flash settings
By the way, I don't have problems with Youtube because I receive HTML5 content from there. Maybe I should contact NASA and get them to broadcast HTML5.
after i leave firefox on for some hours (the amount of time varies between a couple of hours to a day), when i try to use flash, for example in videos, it plays the first second of the video and then goes into a sound loop of that 1 second of sound that continues even after i stop the video. it takes about 30 seconds for it to stop. at other times, if i've left a video paused in the middle and start it again after some hours, it goes through the rest of the video in just a few seconds like it is in fast forward. the sound is messed up just like in the other case.
the problem clears up completely after i restart firefox. i have tried changing the flash plugins but this usually leads to other problems. right now i'm using the default plugin file name: libflashplayer.so shockwave flash 10.1 r102 i only had this problem in debian, its been going on for months now and i have absolutely no idea what causes it to happen. it seems completely random. when i have only two or three tabs open its a slight nuisance but restarting firefox with 50 tabs open just takes too long.
I have just installed Debian "Lenny" AMD64 in my PC, but I can't find a compatible flash player for AMD64 in the adobe site, the only version I found is for i386.
For some time now I have been unable to update flashplugin. I have been waiting the problem to fix itself, but no.
Here is what happens when I try to update flash:
Code: Select allrob@ace:~$ sudo update-flashplugin-nonfree --status Flash Player version installed on this system : 11.2.202.457 Flash Player version available on upstream site: 11.2.202.460 flash-mozilla.so - auto mode link currently points to /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so - priority 50
[Code] ....
The same thing happens on both my Debian Jessie machines..
Any way to force the update? Need to update their flashplugin on Jessie?
Tried to update nonfree flashplugin on my Debian laptop, a Toshiba Satellite A100-VA3 today: update-flashplugin-nonfree --install This is the result: ERROR: sha512sum rejected install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz More information might be available at: [URL] What to do next. Is there a alternative to non-free?
i am a proud newbie user of debian linux. the desktop i use is xfce. i have iceweasel as the web browser. it cannot access flash content like videos videos and some others because the adobe flash plugin is not installed. i've done the following without success. i downloaded flash_player_10_linux.tar from adobe's site, unpacked it to get libflashplayer.so. but under /usr/lib/iceweasel, there is no plugins folder to put it in. there is, however, a broken link called plugins. then i created a plugins folder under home/myaccount/.mozilla and pasted the libflashplayer.so file over there. i restarted iceweasel, but it cannot still detect flash content.
then i ran apt-get install of jre and downloaded all java packages. however, while installation it gave an error saying, "cannot overwrite iceweasel/plugins". this came most probably because as mentioned earlier there is no plugins folder under iceweasel to begin with. on running the about : plugins command, i get "no plugins installed". i then deleted the plugins folder from .mozilla and directly pasted the libflashplayer.so file under usr/lib/iceweasel (since it contained many other .so files). how to enable iceweasel to enable the adobe flashplayer plugin.
I'm new to this and trying to install flashplugin to the terminal. I entered apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree, and it says package not found. What do i do. I can't install yahoo messenger without it or see any videos on ..... or any thing that requires adobe.
I am using openSUSE 11.0. This OS installation gives firefox 3.0.5 Beta. I had installed new version of firefox at /usr/local/bin/firefox. I had placed link of this firefox at /usr/bin using this command ->
Code:
linux-snvz:/usr/bin # ln -s /usr/local/bin/firefox/firefox firefox My older firefox contains the flush plugin. So i can easily played ..... video's in my browser. But now my new browser saying that it doesn't have flash plugin. I was tried to install flash plugin once again.
[Code]...
Even after installation also my browser is again without flash plugin.
i set up an ltsp server on debian squeeze. after a standard installation, sound doesn't work on clients.
[code]...
when i start iceweasel normally (executed on server side), i get sound on the client. when i start ltsp-localapps iceweasel, i get no sound on flash sites and videos videos.what's wrong ? with local apps, is it possible that the flashplugin-nonfree doesn't talk to alsa ?
I use my debian machine for masquerading, packet filtering anilar for a tiny network. It runs the latest debian testing.Every now and then (i am talking about weeks) the connection to my internet stops working.ifdown eth0; ifup eth0 brings it back. The other interface (eth1) is never effected. The odd thing is, there are no warnings, no messages .. nothing.I cant find any entry. Nothing in the logs, nothing in dmsg and no kernel panic. The only way to find out when it might have been happened is to search in several daemons log files,to find out when their first error connecting to the internet occurred.I ran memtest without any results. The nic is e1000 compatible.
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad R500, and recently I recently upgraded it with a Crucial SSD as well as 8 GB of DDR3, as I had a blank SSD installed, I decided to switch from Mint to Debian and see how I like it. I'm using Debian 8 with the MATE desktop and so far it's been quite a pleasure to use, besides one small thing.
Every 5 to 10 minutes, DNS resolution stops working completely. I can ping IP addresses as well as connect to websites by IP address just fine, however I cannot resolve hostnames. The problem exists regardless of whether I'm connected to my router via a wired or wireless connection. It is not occurring on any other computer in my house and didn't exist on my old Mint installation. If I disconnect from my home network by either unplugging the Ethernet cable or flicking the WIFI switch on my laptop, and then reconnecting, I can resolve hostnames again, albeit only for another 5-10 minutes, when DNS stops working again.
I was originally using DHCP and my ISP's DNS servers, but switched to my laptop using a static IP address and Google's DNS Servers at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, the problem persisted after this change.
In a hp pavilion 15 Notebook PC with Debian 8.1.After two hours or so wifi stops working. Network-manager does not give any indication of failure but some times a yellow question mark.

when running on AC-power, only on battery. When I have my laptop on battery, and I plug the mouse in, then the USB mouse is working if I keep moving it around. If I then lay it alone for 5 secs, or so. it stops working.I cannot get USB sticks to work as well.
I am having a problem which I am having a hard time finding out about. To start I am running Debian 8.0 on a laptop through an external Seagate 2TB HDD that I connect via USB 3.0. My problem, basically, is when ever I use Linux for an extended period, for what ever reason, some of my icons disappear and my terminal breaks. More specifically, say I were to try to shut down the computer at the time of the problem the icons and text telling me which option is which, in xfce4, are gone. Then if I click on the would be shut down button it just goes to a black screen with a white underscore and hangs there. This symptom is probably due to the fact that commands in the linux terminal stop working. As in, if I were to type ls it tells me there is no command (something like that) and tells me some folder directory that I think is where bash is located. I wish I could be more specific with some of these details.
Anyway the only way for me to "fix" it is to just do a hard shut down, then upon reboot it clears the orphaned nodes. Also, before, when I installed linux several weeks before I never noticed this issue, if it was ever present. However, now that I have seen it, I have since tried re-installs of debian to no avail. I have a feeling it could be the external hard drive, but that notion is not based on any evidence.
I'm running Debian server 5.0.6 and the latest stable version of Apache. I am hosting a website and it will stop responding after an unknown amount of time. In order to make the website work again I have to run /etc/init.d/networking restart. The server is running a static IP address and is not resetting when the website goes down. I don't know where to start looking.
