It's been a few hours since the Adobe Flash plugin on my Firefox is behaving in a strange way: some of the clickable dialogs do not work anymore. I click on them but nothing happens.
For example: in chatroulette, the dialog that asks for the permission to use the webcam can't be clicked:
Same happens for other flash sites.
I'm using Firefox "Namoroka" v3.6.5pre and Flash 10.0r45
After installing 11.4/LXDE which comes with FF 4 Beta, The openSUSE Flash Plugin package was automatically installed, but doesn't seem to be installed into FF properly. When FF > Addons is opened, no Flash plugin is listed. If you then attempt to install install Flash from Adobe, Adobe doesn't seem to recognize FF 4 as a supported browser.
On top of that, if you visit the nVidia site to explore OEM display drivers, their site is Flash driven and won't permit driver searching, must less browsing and possible downloading. This was important to me to try to obtain the OEM nVidia Configuration Manager which vastly enhances display management, particularly on the somewhat lean LXDE desktop.
I am using Ktorrent 3.3.4 (compiled - using KDE 4.3.2) on Ubuntu version 9.10 (Ubuntu 2.6.31-19-generic)
I have tested the shutdown plugin to shutdown when all torrents stop downloading and also tested by selecting when events below happen and manually selecting the torrents.
I have the shutdown button selected.
However on both occasions my PC does not shutdown after the downloads have completed.
What am I doing wrong? Or is it because I am on Ubuntu and using the Gnome desktop and this only works for KDE?
In my frustration to get adobe flash working in firefox I deleted the /usr/lib/flash-plugin folder. Now when I try to uninstall "Flash-Plugin" from YAST it fails as it can't find the sub-folder. I also cannot install the latest version of flash player as it says that it is already installed - So I am stuck in a loop.
I am running SUSE 11.2.
Is there a config file of installed programs that I can modify to remove the "Flash-Plugin" entry, or is there another way to get over this problem.
i'm having problems with the flash plugin. a lot of sites that use flash for buttons and things just won't work. this happens a lot with videos videos posted on blogs and such, although they seem to work, mostly but not always, on the actual videos website. i didn't have this problem with earlier versions of flash, is it possible to downgrade the version i'm using? using 10.04lts 64 bit. i installed flash via synaptic, flashplugin-installer 10.1.82.76

It seems to be able to run flash games and videos etc. but it won't let me interact with it. So if I want to pause the video, I can't or if it doesn't automatically start, I can't watch it. With games, it runs, but I can't click on it at all.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have never had a problem with flash plugin before. Just recently I decided to try gnash to see if it plays flash videos better then flash plugin (it doesn't). So I updated flash plugin from the 10.0 r32 version to the 10.0 r42 version and went under Tools > Add-ons > Plugins in Firefox and disabled the gnash plugin and re-enabled the flash plugin and now flash does not work any more. I've tryed uninstalling gnash, reinstalling flash plugin, reinstalling Firefox. Flash just will not work. Flash works in Google Chrome or if I run Firefox as root.

I disabled the new version of flash plugin (10.0 r42) and re-enabled the old version (10.0 r32) and now flash works. I dont understand the new version of flash plugin works but only in Google Chrome or if I run Firefox as root?! Also Firefox (as my user) shows both versions of flash plugin 10.0 r32 and 10.0 r42 Firefox as root and Google Chrome only show the new version.
The browser has flashplugin installed previously.It has been working without problem before. For unknown reason it stops to work.Now I'm required to install Adobe Flash Player.I have"install_flash_player_10_ linux.deb" download on Adobe website. Whether I run dpkg to install the package?

I've already went through the regular process of installation, adding the backports repository and doing the debian way installation, but somehow the system isn't assuming the plugin.
I've rebooted the web browser and even the entire system, but still the plugin does not work.

I am sitting behind http proxy, and cant remove flash plugin. I go to system -> manage apps and remove. From there I get only loops: [URL] while I've set up all proxy settings in system - configure proxy.

Alright I just installed Linux as the only and got it all set up but now I have a problem with firefox or actually any browser. As far as I understand my internet works fine, I was able to download updates from the software center and various programs too. My problem is that when I try to go to any other website than google the browser just freezes up. The bar in the left bottom corner just says "Waiting for <site name>" Strangely google and google mail works. Ive tried going through all of the network settings but I am at a loss now

I have double checked that the SSID and Password are correct. It is a WPA network. I am sure it is a problem with my computer, not the network, because my brother's laptop (which I am using right now) has ubuntu 9.10 installed on it and the network is working perfectly.

However, today my Internet connection is behaving very strange. When I try to connect to the internet, my browser times out or cannot establish a connection. I'm able to connect to low-input sites like Google search, but I cannot connect to sites like Facebook, Wikipedia, or even the Ubuntu forums (I'm currently using a friend's laptop to post this). Pidgin and Skype work without a problem, as well as Transmission. I primarily use Firefox, but I also tried Chrome, Opera, and Epiphany; none of them worked. Oddly enough, my update manager also cannot connect to the Internet to retrieve updates.
I have restarted my router, but it still works properly, as it is running fine on my friend's laptop. I have tried 'no proxy' in Firefox, but it did not help. I also disabled IPv6 in etc/sysctl.conf by adding the code:

I have 2 network adapter, 1 wireless and 1 wired. Both are connected to different network. Whenever I plugin the cable, wireless stop working. I need to get both working simultaneously. Do I need to do any settings to make both work?

When I try to connect to it from any source, it gives me a "404:Entity Not Found" error. There hasn't been any useful info out there to solve this problem. Help please! Attached is my mpd.conf file. All my permissions and firewalls are set up properly AFAIK.

I have fedora 10 (32bit) on the other laptop and mplayer, kmplayer ffmpeg mencoder ...installed there, all working properly.
On my new laptop I want to try the most updated fedora 64bit. but I could not install mplayer or ffmpeg.
I tried to listen to my music:

but there's no sound. I tried to play a 45 minutes rmvb, but the progress bar quickly marched to the end within 3 seconds, no sound, no video either.
I removed kmplayer then reinstalled it, but problem is not solved. so what's wrong?
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10, coming from 10.04 and the wired network connection sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. Right now I manually removed current network from System-->Preferences--> network connections, define a new one, and reboot. This usually fixes, although I've had to do this two times in the past.

Ubuntu 10.10 64bit, EVGA P55 motherboard, on board either net.
I have a dual boot (XP Pro and F13) laptop. This laptop has a Ralink RT2501USB Wireless Adapter which works perfectly fine on XP. But when it comes to F13, adapter only works properly when I am physically next to my router. When I move few feet away the strength of the connection drops from 100% to around 40%. But even though 40% should be okay for slow connection to internet, I can't get any internet access at all. I have tried three different routers with same results on each.
When I boot same machine with windows XP, all works fine. I can move to any part of my house and I will still have the connection without any issues.I can see that RT73 driver is installed if I check in add remove program under system.I am not an expert but to me its seems that the drivers on F13 for RT2501USB are not as good as on windows?
