Nov 15, 2009I have just installed Debian "Lenny" AMD64 in my PC, but I can't find a compatible flash player for AMD64 in the adobe site, the only version I found is for i386.

Sep 13, 2010Some inquiries regarding my Flash Player Plugin.
Setup: Ubuntu 10.04 (Fresh Clean Install) AMD64 Desktop - Using Firefox 3.6.9 with Flash Player Plugin
Problem: I can watch videos but cannot interface with the plugin. I.E. I cannot change volume, fullscreen, progress bar adjust, etc.
After researching for many How To's and install scripts I finally came across one that worked for my particular setup:

This installed successfully and I can watch videos but cannot interface with the plugin. I.E. I cannot change volume, fullscreen, progress bar adjust, etc.
I read that changes are in progress to update the 64 bit Flash Plugin for Mozilla, could this be a bug people have reported?

I have used other approaches as and when I found them and have used them in a haphazard manner. I am currently not sure about all that I have done.
I can see some flash videos ( presently only some on .....) while I cant see many others. I would want to configure flash so that I can enjoy the videos.

Debian :: Making Flash 10 Working In Lenny / System Isn't Assuming The Plugin?
Mar 7, 2010I've already went through the regular process of installation, adding the backports repository and doing the debian way installation, but somehow the system isn't assuming the plugin.
I've rebooted the web browser and even the entire system, but still the plugin does not work.
Debian Installation :: Abode Flash Player Not Working In Lenny 64
Feb 4, 2010Well being a newbie I have discovered something (or so I think!) regarding abode's flash plugin (flashplugin-nonfree): As per instructions from this same forum I had installed and used successfully in my Lenny 64, ever since it came out, abode's flash by first adding in my /etc/apt/sources.list the following repository: deb [URL]. Lately and for quite some time flash would misbehave and I had to reinstall it continuously and more often until it would work in the end only for some hours.
I reinstalled Lenny believing I could get over it but instead I ended up without any flash working at all! No videos only sound. Next step I deleted etch backports (#) and installed the sid repository: deb [URL] unstable main contrib non-free and went:#apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree which downloaded and installed flash 10 (I had flash 9 through backports) and consequently deleted (#) after that sid's repository to avoid updating Lenny, placing backports again in place although I do not know why ! Now I have videos working.

I am not able to download the plugin for 64 bit also.(I think it is beta -- also the download page and working is little confusing)

Aug 9, 2009i am a proud newbie user of debian linux. the desktop i use is xfce. i have iceweasel as the web browser. it cannot access flash content like videos videos and some others because the adobe flash plugin is not installed. i've done the following without success. i downloaded flash_player_10_linux.tar from adobe's site, unpacked it to get libflashplayer.so. but under /usr/lib/iceweasel, there is no plugins folder to put it in. there is, however, a broken link called plugins. then i created a plugins folder under home/myaccount/.mozilla and pasted the libflashplayer.so file over there. i restarted iceweasel, but it cannot still detect flash content.
then i ran apt-get install of jre and downloaded all java packages. however, while installation it gave an error saying, "cannot overwrite iceweasel/plugins". this came most probably because as mentioned earlier there is no plugins folder under iceweasel to begin with. on running the about : plugins command, i get "no plugins installed". i then deleted the plugins folder from .mozilla and directly pasted the libflashplayer.so file under usr/lib/iceweasel (since it contained many other .so files). how to enable iceweasel to enable the adobe flashplayer plugin.

Processor is Intel Q8200 Debian amd64 ISOs should work on my system but I had to resort to i386, which installed flawlessly despite a couple of kernel panics once X started. I don't think the problem is VirtualBox and I'm about to reboot and try loading the CD normally to see if that works.

Jul 24, 2010There's a certain program I'm trying to run that will only work with the 32-bit version of a certain library - the 64-bit version included in the repository won't work for it. I found an i386 .deb package online (made for ubuntu but it should work with regular debian), but when I try to install it, it says incorrect architecture, use amd64 version instead.
How can I force it to accept the i386 version of this package?

Aug 13, 2010I at trying to get my Intuos 3 installed on Debian Lenny AMD64. I installed both the xserver-xorg-input-wacom and wacom-tools. The problem is that the tablet works like a mouse. I have to press down and move the pen for it to work. In Windows, I can just hover over the tablet without making contact and it will move the cursor. Also, it isn't calibrated to the screen.
I put "wacom" in /etc/modules. Here is my xorg.conf though

Feb 18, 2010I am running flash-player plug-in 10.0.32.10 inside of Firefox on a SLED 11 machine.Firefox can print to the network printer without issue from File > Print.However, I cannot get the flash-player plugin to print at all. The print dialog comes up, asks for which printer, and which pages.I click Print and it was as if I had pressed cancel.

rpm -Uvh [URL]
then I updated the repositories then I typed,
yum install flash-plugin nspluginwrapper.{i386,x86_64} pulseaudio-libs.i386 alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.i386 libcurl.i386
but it says no package available in the name flash-plugin.

When I try to check java on Sun's website, the applet seems to hang.Here's what Iceweasel says on aboutlugins:

Jul 8, 2009I installed the new debian_lenny_5.0.1_amd64 x64, i am having a nVidia Geforce 8500 GT 512 RAM display card. I was trying to install the driver using the synaptic package manager. I installed them, but i was not able to use the driver. I don't know where the drivers are installed and how to use it. I checked the xorg.conf , and the nVidia driver is not listed there. how to install them .

E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
I even tried to go through the software center and the extra install through the help site from the firefox browser, but still get the error message.

Sep 1, 2010I have a dual boot computer. I seem to be having a bit of a problem with Grub lately. Every time I do any kind of update in Debian Lenny AMD 64 it borks my Grub. The first time I had to change a few lines in menu.lst (hd1,1 to hd0,1), no problem. The second time, things went downhill fast and G-Parted was giving me errors on my NTFS partitions. I had to do an XP repair, fixboot, and I had to reinstall Grub completely to the MBR.
Now, I having a "Grub Loading stage1.5. Grub loading, please wait.... Error 22". All I did was update Debian Linux and shut down. From my initial searches this is an error relating to not finding the correct partition. I have booted with a G-Part CD and it shows all my partitions. I do have a Windows XP Home boot cd if I need it. Here is my partition outline if you need it:
/dev/sda1 NTFS (Windows) flags--boot
/dev/sda2 Ext3 (Linux)
/dev/sda3 FAT32 (shared space between Windows and Linux)
