CentOS 5 Server :: Warning: Realpath(): Open_basedir Restriction In Effect
Apr 18, 2010
I am trying to determine if I should upgrade PHP's PEAR on my server. I am trying to check the version of PEAR currently installed. I am getting the following error when I use the pear -V command:
Warning: realpath(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp) is not within the allowed path(s): (/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php) in System.php on line 459
I tried adding /tmp to my php.ini file, but then when I use the pear -V command it doesn't do anything. I do not get any errors or anything. I am also trying to install symfony and have the same situation described above when I use the following command: pear cannel-discover pear.symfony-project.com
I restored a whole filesystem from a backup using rdiff-backup and made it bootable from a modified CentOS 5 CD ROM.All works well except all the files have SeLinux context ofroot:object_r:file_t:s0I tried rebooting with .autorelable and it seems to take no time and reboots immediately after starting. After, there is no change in the contexts of the files.I also tried fixfiles and restorecon with and without selinux enabled and in all cases it takes no time and returns no error code i.e. it does nothing. Nothing in the system log either.
I ma porting an application from SUSE 10 Professional 64-bit to CentOS 5.3 x64 version. We have set the /etc/php.ini as in old server and set the maximum memory limit to 5GB (yes! We have ample of memory) for the process. It was working fine in old server but in new server, the Apache log always showed that it failed to allocate more memory for the application. We noticed that the error coming out while the application uses up to 1GB memory.Just wish to ask if the PHP in CentOS 5.3 has any restriction on memory usage?
I have upgraded to 10.4 and and after try to install mac look in ubuntu. My screen start flickering, I found it this due to in system => preference => appearance => effect become no effect automatically (as each and every time I select extra effect)After some time.for changing this setting i need to turn off the computer and restart then after i can do it i.e. change effect to extra effect. Its done after following installation
cannot restrict share access to a single user. I've played with the security and valid users options in the smb.conf and I can get it to mount if I remove the valid users option, but this does not provide the access restriction I need. I also left it open and tried making the folder permissions rwx for backupadmin only and that didn't work. I'm using a credentials file which I include below, but I've tried manually entering them in the command too.
[root@aaphst02 /]# mount -t cifs //aapsan01/aapxen01 /mnt/aapxen01 --verbose -o credentials=/root/smbcreds mount.cifs kernel mount options: unc=//aapsan01aapxen01,ip=10.0.1.34,user=backupadmin,ver=1,rw,credentials=/root/smbcreds,pass=********

In the next line I have a button "Update Detected Operating System" My question is Do I need to click the link and update Detected operating system? If I do, is it going to change any configuration on our server?

I have a CentOS 5.6 x64 server getting TONS of these errors showing up in the syslog. Not sure exactly what is causing them. I have run file system checks on all the ext4 partitions and they came back clean. The host is running in a VMWare ESXi virtual machine, with its virtual disks residing on VMFS file systems, if that helps. None of my other Linux VMs are getting these errors.
My test messages from one mail server to another are getting sent to my spambucket and the only error in the logs is: warning: numeric domain name in resource data of MX record for [URL]: 74.63.64.42
This is my problem,i need to give some user from other machine to my machine where they can get my data, but i want to give them only one dir where they can download file and i'm trying to use scp to this solution
I am getting the following error in my dmesg output. This error occurs every 4 minutes and I am running CentOS 5.6, ext4 filesystem and Directadmin control panel. I have a Name-based virtualhost website in Apache, what i want to do is to disable direct ip access to the site and allow only through web address (www.mysite.com, and not through xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). Or at least show a default page / not found page
I presume this can be acomplished with Mod_Rewrite and .htaccess but i just wanted to know if there is a more global option for this
I have googled this a lot but i can only find posts related to ip host restriction rules, which is not what i want
I have been updating my system and making a few changes and now I have a serious problem with GNOME (as far a I understand). In the Desktop if I try to start some applications such as the text editor gedit it crashes and won't start. Some applictions start from the menu some don't (e.g. services) and others start and then crash if I try to example manipulate them (e.g. open a file in openoffice).
In the case of gedit if I try to run it from the command line as root I get the following
# gedit
(gedit:6475): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.Illegal instruction [code]....
When I try to start the services (i.e. /usr/bin/system-config-services) I get:
Is it possible to prevent the panel from expanding to where the -ox buttons appear on a full sized window. I use the panel hide pref with the panel not fully extended to the width of the scree. If the panel gets too big then it drops down each time I click to close the window. I would like to limit the overall length of a panel. Is it possible?

When I comment out the "allow from" line, I have no access to this server at all, but when "Allow from 127.0.0.1 172.23.120" is activated, I can also access that location from other IP's (I can even access it from the internet).
What I really want is access limited to the IP's in "Allow from" because I don't want anyone accessing our subversion repo's from anywhere else.
i just tried to install Ubuntu Netbook 10.04 on my old Amilo Lifebook P Series. But after the boot screen and the choice to install Ubuntu i get stuck at the Ubuntu screen with the little dots on the bottom If I hit esc i can see the warning (process 257): GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_(r) failed due to unknown user id (0)
I'm stepping out with LDAP for the first time. It's up and running. My Question is really closer to DB4, the Berkely database. When I start the ldap service I get this output:
# service ldap restart Stopping slapd: [ OK ] Checking configuration files for slapd: bdb_db_open: Warning - No DB_CONFIG file found in directory /var/lib/ldap: (2) Expect poor performance for suffix dc=example,dc=com. config file testing succeeded
is it possible to limit the size of a specific folder independent of user or group? I want to restrict /var/log to a total size of 1GB. I don't think that the common approach to create a 1GB partition is the right way since it is possible that I want increase or decrease the limit in the near future.
