View 3 Repliesi'm running debian lenny - latest stable i have recently installed smartcam (mobile phone as webcam over bluetooth) from .deb package , get errors of unmet dependency , but application works like a charm, unfortunately broken dependences block my aptitude , i cant fix them either as latest stable use older versions of dependences even in backports... how do i mark smartcam package as not broken and release my apt?

Please verify its path and try again I have tried globally to disable the gpg check as stated in other threads. I have no proxies or such in yum.conf or in my bashrc. If I manually click on the link it will resolve in firefox so I am sure it is not my net connection per se, it seems yum or curl is adding a : to the end of the url thats why it wont resolve properly.
I have done a yum clean all , which didnt really help either. reinstalling the rpmfusion repos isnt an option either as I start getting curl errors in the terminal. I am really at a loss here and am completely out of ideas as I cant install any updates or software , at first I thought the repositories were having problems with the holidays but this has been going on for 4 days now. /var/log/messages isnt showing anything either.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI used to use the negative filter (Compiz) with Eclipse in order to have a dark background, but I wasn't satisfied. Then I ended up changing the Appeareance for all gnome windows (and applying a color scheme to Eclipse editors), so my background is black and the text is white.
It works perfectly for most of applications, but some (i.e. the crappy Celtx) are unreadable, as they keep the white of the font but use a white background. For Celtx, I'm still searching for the css to modify. But, overall, it could be great if there was a way to define one -more standard, black on white- color theme to be applied only on some applications (the conflictive ones).
how do i install the latest deluge release from the repository? Do Deluge have their own repository of the latest release? openSUSE repository does not have the latest release. I am in search of a bitorrent client. i have uninstalled Ktorrent, i dont want that. in windows i was used to Utorrent.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu on my small 64GB SSD alongside my main drive for storage. I got everything set up just how I like it (customized clearlooks with Ubuntu Mono Light icons) the same as I have it on my laptop. I disabled all system sound effects.This morning, I wake up to it having a different icon set, and the menus having an identical grey scheme. In addition, the Ubuntu system sound effects are playing, even though in the settings it says they are disabled.I'm not really sure what's wrong! It's the same in both compiz and metacity.Here's a screenshot. Note how the boring old-style theme is applied in the update window and the menu at the top, yet the customizing themes window has the correct appearance for the buttons (funny coincidence)EDIT: I think I've narrowed it down to gnome-settings-daemon. When I try to initialize it via the terminal I get this:

I use a custom theme on Gnome. I use "New Wave" controls. Next i customised colours to get the Ubuntu purple, rather than orange. This however does not apply everywhere. If i hover menus, highlight text it's OK. On buttons and other controls it remains orange however.
I tried with gnome colour chooser and it seems to override the text only. How can i get read of this (in my opinion ugly) orange and see my (in my opinion far better ) purple tint on my controls?

I'm installing Centos 5.5 on a HP ProLiant DL180 Server with ~8 TB of hard disk (4 disks that have been pre-RAIDED), from an installation DVD.
Normally when I get to the partitions screen, I would select "remove all partitions etc".
But this gives me an error message "Your boot partition is on a disk using the GPT partition scheme but this machine cannot boot using GPT. This can happen if there is not enough space on your drives for the installation."
Pressed OK, tried the other three partition options but they led to the same outcome.
Tried Advanced storage configuration: Showed that there was one hard drive (c0d0) with ~ 8 TB of space.
I figured I should create a root sector, set one up with 100 MB of space, ext3, set the mount point as /.
Created a software raid of the remaining space.
Trying to go "next" gave me a similar error about GPT partition scheme. Trying various other configurations all gave similar errors about the GPT scheme.
What do I need to do? Some earlier hard format of the disk or something?

I can see no reason why centos-relese-notes should depend on centos-release when I try "yum erase centos-release-notes" I am told there are 72 dependancies including completely irrelevant packages such as tar all because of this unnecessary dependancy.
The centos-release-notes package simply contains a bunch of text/html files that nothing else relies upon, so why the dependancies ?

Something like doing a kfilereplace on the /etc/zypp/repos.d/ folder and changing all occurances of 11.3 to 11.4 (in all *repo, which are all the files in the folder). Will this work?
