Ubuntu :: Sending Error: No Such Partition?

ok so my Tech teacher installed Ubuntu on my laptop for me so that i could try to program with Objective-C in the terminal. It didn't work. Just the other day i tried to remove the partition to make space for other things that i needed on my computer.
I also made my Vista portion take of the part that was controller by Ubuntu. Now when i run i get a message that says
error: no such partition.
grub rescue>
IDK what to do, i have no cd to instal it again, oh yeah and in 2 and a half hours, i won't have a computer because the one that i am on now goes back to my co-op.

When I send mail via Evoultion it does seem to send ok but still the following error message comes up: Error while sending message. Failed to append to : Unknown error Appending to local 'Sent' folder instead. Not sure what's up with that but thought I would mention it.

Just upgraded to 10.10, evolution worked the first time but has not worked since. Have tried re installation but no joy. Starting for terminal shows:-
(evolution:16876): Unique-DBus-WARNING **: Error while sending message: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
It was working in 10.04.

I have set up evolution with what I believe to be the proper settings.Pop3.live.com for the incoming mail server and smtp.live.com for the outgoing mail server.The problem I have at the moment is this: When trying to receive mail, after entering my password at the prompt,
I get the error message:
Error sending password: -ERR mailbox could not be opened.
I'm reprompted to enter my password and I no longer get the previous error, but instead a new one.Error sending username: -ERR unrecognized command.This error message persists every time I enter my password. I have noted that there are no penalties for entering an incorrect password, so I've posited that the problem is on my end.

Since upgrading to 11.04 yesterday, nauilus has been acting strangely. It takes about 30 seconds for a right click on the desktop to respond, whereas before it would've taken 1 or 2. Also, when trying to open a directory, say, the Home direcotry accessible from the launcher,it takes about a minute to open, which is odd,because all of my other applications (Chrome, Banshee etc) ares all running smoothly. And when the direcotry windowe does open, within 10 sconds it will turn grey and prompt me to force quit. When i try to open nautilus from a terminal, it comes back with the message

I have an issue when sending snmp traps. I have an embedded system connected to a SNMP manager. I am sending traps from the box to the manager continuosly. After sometime I don't see any trpas coming out.
I get this error message.
Cannot open file /proc/net/tcp ...
: Too many open files
Cannot open file /proc/net/snmp ...
: Too many open files
What could be the reason for such an error?

i configured sendmail with squirrelmail in RHEL5.3
it is working fine. i can send the mail and receive the mail .
but when i try to send the mail a selinux error is coming[but mail is sending successfully ]. i don't under stand this message.

I am using fedora 9, with kernel version 2.6.25-14.fc9.i686. I installed rsh-server. My configurations (with firewalls off)were:
1. In /etc/xinetd.d/rsh made "disable = yes" to "disable = no"
2. In /etc/securetty included the lines rsh and rlogin
3. By switching to user 'user1', in /home/user1/.rhosts included ip address of remote machine and issued 'chmod 400 /home/user1/.rhosts'
4. restarted xinetd service
When I issue the following from remote machine rsh <ip address> -l user1 ls it fails saying 'Error sending audit event.' In 'tail -f /var/log/messages' I could see the error dump

I move a page from a server in SuSe to Debian and this script was working well but when I move the page to a Debian base server it is sending in the logs the following message:
cat: write error: Broken pipe, referer: [URL]
The cgi does the following, read a db file plain text that repeat each 15 lines an information where to look the seraching info. if it is there sends to the output the 15 lines block. but it was not sending errors in suse distro, does anybody knows why the cat's line are sending "cat: write error: Broken pipe," if I am not writing or making a pipe with ">" to none file.

I was installing opensuse 11.2 in parallel with windows xp.but during installation suddenly power has gone and after that opensuse is giving me the error message corrupt partition.i am also not able to login in xp. so I decide to reinstall windows, I got the error saying "invalid partition table" after the first restart of windows xp installation.
I tried to use windows system recovery console and committing fixmbr and fixboot commands, but didn't work.
i have 2 window partition(1 for windows and 1 for data).i do,nt want to format 2,nd partition.
How can I installed windows?My plan was first to install windows xp, then opensuse again.

I installed Ubuntu as shown in the wiki and when I went to restart it gave me a lovely blinking cursor and nothing else. So I held down option, loaded into osx, reinstalled rEFIt and got my menu on startup. Unfortunately, the partition sync tool doesn't seam to be working, it gives me an error: Status: MBR partition table is invalid, partitions overlap. Error: Not Found returned from gptsync.efi

I have 2 hard drives on mu box 1st one is 500.0 MB ext4 Volume where I have my syste FC 13 and a 2nd one where I put my database files as follows 78.1 GB ext4 Volume usage = filesystem, format ext4

I have prob with running Metaspolit tool in BackTrack When i used expolit aurora (windows/shell/bind_tcp) it started a server for me running in my ip addrerss on port 8080

I am trying to install a box here where my /storage partition is about 2.5T.I had setup the partitioning with suse, while testing, and all worked well.Now when trying to install CentOs 5.5 it gives me an error, that my boot partition is on a gpt partition and this machine cannot boot that.Also I don't see the option to create XFS partitions from the installer.Can 5.5 support GPT @ install time?

I have a windows XP system and a ubuntu in my disk.Then i delete ubuntu with just kill the partition.After restart the system i saw the computer prompt me:

But that's not the all.I use WINPE and other ways for going back to my windows but the GRUB just told me the error.So i got my disk out and connected it to another computer then i format the C partition which has a windows xp.But,it is very strange.When i took my disk back to my computer and just wanning to install a new XP system,the grub error just still..i install the XP system by a usb key disk,as a reason about i do not have a CD or DVD ROM.

I dual boot windows xp and ubuntu 9.10 UNR on my asus1005ha Netbook What happened: I deleted the ubuntu partition and the swap partition through windows xp using Disk management. Whats happening now : When I power on my netbook grub says the following GRUB loading. Error: no such partition grub recovery>. I attempt to input any sudo command it says unknown command which makes sense considering the partition no longer exists.

I resize my Ubuntu extended partition in Windows and now when I boot, I'm getting a GRUB rescue and the error "no such partition". I'm on a LiveUSB. Here's the results of my fdisk -l:

I recently tried to uninstall Ubuntu myself using my Windows Vista Drive Manager and just deleting the entire partition and merging it with my Vista partition. All I wanted to do was rid myself of Ubuntu because I couldn't understand it. Unfortunately, now when I try to boot into Vista, all I get is "error: no such partition grub recover>" or something like that. I have no idea how to fix this since I can't get past the error into an OS. I have gotten all of my important data off the computer but I don't have a recovery disc!

I currently dual boot ubuntu and win7 using a separate partition for grub and a final partition for data. I recently tried booting into the ubuntu side to find an error message that is summarized like this:Gave up waiting for root device, Reasons could be A, B, or C
ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/[some really long string separated by dashes] does not exist.
Dropping to shell. My question is there an easy way to salvage this or is it better to not bother and reinstall since my data is safe?

I was and idiot and stared messing around gparted before I was ready to partition my hard drive. Consequently I messed up my partitions, and when I restarted my computer a screen comes up that reads:
