View 3 RepliesI am looking for a panel widget which will basically a textbox which does the same thing as the box in the "Run Application" window (alt+F2) but without the options such as run in terminal, file, different user, etc. Just a plain run box. Is there such a thing?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI remember this was discussed some time ago but I cannot find the thread any more. I was just wondering if others are still seeing the same problem . I've had this all through 4.4.3 and now with 4.4.4. For some reason if only the logout or lock button is selected and placed on the far right of the panel then part of the button is chopped off. This only happens with the panel locked. If both buttons are selected then they display correctly. I also notice that when only one button is selected that it's size is slightly smaller than when both are selected. Also it only seems to be the logout/lock widget that has this problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it's possible to remove the gnome panel, I prefer the use of dock-lets and I don't have any use for the panel but when I remove my panel with apt en reboot my computer he seems to be unable to load gnome and I only get a terminal(or KDE desktop when installed) I didn't find another topic on this so I was wondering if it's possible to remove and if, how to achieve it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI think all I have to do is disable gnome-panel somehow, but I wanted to check here first, so I don't screw up my computer. As it is, I have the dock working great. However, I can't just turn off the panel, which I currently have at the top of the screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded cairo-dock and wanted my top panel to go away. I read on some other post to go into gconf-editor and I am not completely sure, but, apps>panel>something else. I didn't pay to much attention. I want it back and I just want to hide it with a really long delay which I can do no problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI installed Sensors Applet & hddtemp. Installation was smooth, all of my devices were automatically detected and all seemed good. Then I restart the computer, and when everything comes back up, the processor, MB, and GPU are all working (showing a temperature) but none of the (6) hard drives are showing a temperature. After fiddling around with it I found that removing the applet from the panel, and then adding it back again fixes the problem. But then the next time I restart the computer it breaks again.

It would be nice if I could disable that option.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI went to rearrange the icons on my top gnome-panel today, as some of the notification icons are displayed to the right of the power menu, and whenever I right click on any gnome panel, I get two options only 'Help' and 'About Panels' the menu options for edit, move, remove etc. are gone.
I don't really know where to start with this, as I dont think I have tried to edit the panel since a clean install, so don't know when it was last OK.
Ubuntu 10.10 x64. So I want to know is there a way to disable the "Remove From Panel" option when in the context menu "Lock To Panel" is selected in Gnome. I have taken a quick look at Ubuntu 11.04 alpha it seems this is a feature set as default, it just annoys me the now and then I will remove applets when I am not intending to do so.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Maverick I could remove the last Gnome panel by editing gconf and removing gnome-panel from desktop > gnome > session > required_components.I've just updated to Natty and doing this makes no difference. I assume Unity is doing it now, or maybe zeitgeist?I've grep'd through .local and .config, and checked Startup Applications but it still loads gnome-panel every session.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to 11.04 I've been trying to remove the top panel in classic in the same manner as I did with 10.10.
gconf-editor -> desktop -> gnome -> session -> remove "gnome-panel" value.
This does not remove the top panel anymore. Relog and restart has been tried. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it? I'm using AWN, so the top panel isn't useful for me
Solved: So I just randomly thought of changing my login session to user defined, and voila! Panel gone Guessing logging into classic just won't let you log on without it.
Is there any chance to remove side panel of shotwell and have an appearance like somehow F-Spot or is there any other programs that have same appearance like F-Spot. F-Spot seems good to me but it's lacking of sorting is a bit annoying.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI created a new panel in Gnome (Fedora 12) and it wasn't showing up right. So I just told it to make another (with the same results), and finally one more. So with the two that are there by default, that's 5 total panels... None of the newly created panels where displaying at all. But after creating the last one the system froze up. Now when I try to boot into fedora my system locks up as it's trying to load GNOME...
Is there any way for me to remove those panels through BASH? So I can just boot to a prompt and get them removed. After that I imagine GNOME will load correctly again...
I using Opensuse 11.3 gnome. I opened new panel to put some icons on it and I check Autohide option, after that it disappeared but I can see it there(left of the screen). How I fix that? Remove the panel or something like that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just made a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04. When I right-click a panel and choose "New Panel", the panel is made, but is not visible. The panel is placed on the left side of the screen, and icons on the desktop is moved to the right. Also windows does not use the full width of the screen when maximized. I've tried to remove the panel configuration in my home directory, logout and login, installing ATI drivers and running a gnome-panel command (from another post on ubuntu forums), but nothing works.
