Fedora :: No Sound From Flash Players (both Gnash And Adobe) In F14 64bit

Nov 12, 2010

I can't have pulseaudio on this machine. Second, Flash played with sound in F13 32bit w/o PA. I have gstreamer plugins and ffmpeg installed but still no sound. Is there any diagnostic output I can refer to to find what libraries are missing if any? Using Firefox. HW is Creative Audigy2 on Gigabyte AMD890 mobo, Phenom II 4 core Sound works everywhere except Flash.

Fedora :: F12 - Firefox 64bit Flash Pulse Audio (No Sound)

Apr 18, 2010

the situation was that i had 2 fedora 12 boxen. one played flash videos with sound, and one did not! eventually i found the actual problem, and it was trivially fixed (i don't want to remember the many blind alleys i went into first...).

when i looked at
system ==> sound preferences ==> sound
and selected the 'applications' tab, i got the line:
"no application is currently running or recording audio.",
but the mute check box to the right of the 'output volume' slider at the top of the tab was unticked.

however, when i was running a flash video, i had a line:
"alsa plug-in (npviewer.bin) ..." with another mute check box on the right that was ticked! unticking this new mute check box, enabled firefox to play videos video's with sound!

Fedora X86/64bit :: Multimedia Players Crash - SIGSEGV?

Feb 18, 2011

I recently put together a new PC and running Fedora 14 x86 64bit. On my 32bit system I was running Fedora 10, loved it, no issues. Been running Fedora for a while now.

Here's my current specs;

Kernel Linux 2.6.35.11-83.fc14.x86_64
Gnome 2.32.0
Memory: 7.6 GiB
AMD Athlon II X4 635 Quad Core Processor

I have installed Exaile, RhythmBox and Clementine. All 3 have the same problem. I can play 1 song at a time fine. But once I add more to the queue/playlist, and the next song has to play, the program crashes. Even if I click to manually go to the next song, it crashes. I can play videos fine, Flash, mkv (720/1080), avi, etc. I have no issues with any other programs, no random reboots, lockups, stalls, errors, etc. Everything runs fine execpt media players. Process to produce problem on all 3 of the said media players:

1. Launch program
2. Play 1 song
3. Add more songs to playlist/queue
4. Either wait for program to finish and try to go to next song or skip, program crashes.

Here are the logs From Automatic Bug Report Tool

Code:
Package: clementine-0.6-1.fc14

Ubuntu Multimedia :: No Sound After Adobe Flash Install?

Dec 15, 2010

I spent 2 hours with Sam on IRC #Ubuntu and went through a very involved investigation of the problem. At the end, still no sound. The sound worked perfectly before the Adobe upgrade. To be clear, now have no sound period, no system sound, no playback sound, no sound online, offline, nada.I am running Ubuntu 10.04, which I don't want to update at this time. I'm running this OS on a desktop PC and have no idea what sound card I have.I recently installed a new ALSA mixer and have checked to be sure nothing is muted. I've read through a ton of posts and so far have found nothing that exactly solves this

General :: Switch Between Flash And Gnash In Firefox?

Jul 6, 2011

How do you easily switch Flash players in Firefox on Linux between Adobe Flash and Gnash? Neither players work very well, but when one fails, the other usually works, so being able to quickly try one after the other would be extremely convenient. There's a buggy Firefox plugin, but it only works on Windows, and only supports switching between the various Adobe Flash versions.

The only way I know how to switch players on Firefox Linux is to shutdown Firefox, uninstall Gnash, reinstall Adobe Flash, and restart Firefox. This is obviously quite painful, and pretty much keeps me tied to Adobe Flash. Is there an easier way?

Fedora :: F11 Sound Crackling In Media Players / Solve This?

Sep 14, 2009

When I installed fedora 11 I had bad sound which crackled and crashed. I followed this guide -http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=225660 - which fixed my issues in videos playing on the web and in VLC. However; in the last few days sound has bugun crackling again in VLC while playing videos (web is fine). All updates have been applied and I am running 32 bit Fedora 11.

Also totem when playing video crashes, freezes, crackles etc while playing videos though playing sound files is fine with no issues. Any ideas how I might solve this and get my sound while playing videos back to how it used to be?

Software :: Get Flash To Work - Konqueror - Gnash Or Swfdec-mozilla

Dec 10, 2010

I'm trying to get flashplayer to work. I was using it in Ice Weasel, and it stopped working. I tried the newest flashplayer as well as the Beta from Adobe labs. I can now use flash, but not in full screen.

I'm not sure what the best alternative is. I tried to use Konqueror. I have konqueror-nsplugins installed, and told Konqueror where the plugin directory for flash was. That didn't work.

Now I'm trying to get gnash to work. I have been using the following pages as a guide:[url] [url]

I installed the following packages:

I can't get gnash to open through K menu. I don't have a .gnash file in my home directory. I also tried swfdec-mozilla and can't get that to work either. Do I need to uninstall flashplugin-nonfree? I'm not sure how to get gnash to work in You Tube.

Fedora :: FF 3.5.5 And Flash 10 (Adobe Repo) Crashing

Dec 14, 2009

I'm using the Mozilla version (tar.gz) of FF 3.5.5 and I'm using the Adobe Repo to install Flash 10. Everytime I go to a Flash site (....., Hulu, Amazon VOD) the browser crashes. If I use the Fedora Repo version of FF (also 3.5.5) then the crashing is much less frequent, although it does still happen. I tried making a symbolic link from the flash-plugin directory under /usr/lib/flash-plugin into the /home/user/firefox/plugins directory, but still no dice. How do I get Flash to behave properly with my Mozilla version of FF 3.5.5...any tips?
