I'm looking for ways to customize the default mdadm email template. I don't like the wording of the template, and i'd like to gear it towards my implementation.
1) can i customize the default template?
a) if so, how?
b) if not, how can I create a new template and use that?
in MS word, we can set The default text(as template) whenever we open it. so we can avoid the repetitive typing.
is it possible in vim editor?
i need to type,
Quote:
<html>
<body>
<script>
[Code].....
whenever i write the new script.. i am repeating the above format.. is there any possiblity to set vim editor to display the above text as default?
I have a template similar to the following.
Code:
template <charT>
virtual void do_get_date(charT* = "str")
{ ... }
As you can see we have a problem. If we use a wchar_t instead the string wont be formatted right we need to prefix L in front. If we use char16_t we need to prefix a u in front. Is there a was to make the generic without resorting the the std::string class?
How is it possible to change the default text that is displayed on the default BASH logon (attached)?
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhich repo do I have to enable to get Gnumeric in SL 5.5...?
I am aware that one should be very careful about the configuration files of Yum... in order not to b0rk the system...
And some repos can be conflicting with others...
And building this from source hits with a lot of unmet dependencies..
I have created a very simple spreadsheet - using gnumeric - with small numbers and simple formulas - the numbers fit easily inside their cells - the formatting all seems in order BEFORE I try to print. When I set up the spreadsheet for printing - and "print preview" the document, I see hash marks in place of numbers in a majority of the cells. When I print the document, the hash marks are printed, in place of the numbers. When I view the document under normal circumstances, for editing - the hash marks are not present. All seems well. I cannot print the spreadsheet without the hash marks (#####) appearing!

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I edit a spreadsheet in Gnumeric, I have to have an argument about saving the edited version. First, it says it wants to save it in Gnumeric's XML format instead of whatever format I opened it in, and then I get a dialog warning me the file already exists,is it OK to overwrite it? All my spreadsheets are either .odt or .csv. I just want to be able to open, edit and save without an argument every time. It's like telling a child that it's bed time and having the same argument every night, and it's getting on my nerves.Is there a setting where I can get gnumeric to obediently save the edited version, or do I just have to put up with the slower opening times of LibreOffice instead?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you find Abiword and Gnumeric are not working after upgrading libgoffice-0.8 a quick fix is by creating the following link:
Code:
cd /usr/lib
ln -s libgoffice-0.8.so.8.0.0 libgoffice-0.8.so.7
Abiword and Gnumeric are now working as before.
I found this from the following bug-report:[URL]
While recently tweaking my system i deleted some startup applications from System->Preferences->Startup Applications. Now my themes and some other settings are not showing up while I login.
here the default set of startup application entries that come when you do a clean install? I am using Ubuntu 9.10 64bit
PS: If there is any work around to reset.
I recently made the switch from gnome to kde. After struggling for two straight days I finally have everything the way I want, and I must say that I am quite pleased with Kde. The one thing I want to do now is get my computer to start up without running printer applets and bluetooth and all that other stuff I don't need. I have had little luck finding any info on this one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAt each startup, Ubuntu asks me for the password for the keyring.
Code:
An application wants access to the keyring 'Default', but it is locked. Enter password for keyring 'Default' to unlock Even if I choose:
Code:
Automatically unlock this keyring whenever I'm logged in it keeps asking it to me at each startup and the connection does not establish if I don't do it. I don't see anything special in the settings for "Passwords and Encryption keys"
Is there a way to remove this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI accidentally set the grub startup manager's time to 0 secs and windows xp as the default OS. (I have windows xp and ubuntu on this laptop.)
Now when I turn on or restart my computer, it boots up straight to windows, I can no longer access the grub boot selection screen or my ubuntu OS.
I wanted to update my NVIDIA Drivers from the default to 256 (or whatever the latest is on their site). After the upgrade from their site and installing it through a command line, I've had trouble. For some reason, whenever I boot, I get the Kubuntu boot screen, even though I run plain Ubuntu. Also, after I boot it defaults to low graphics mode, and I have to hit "restart X" to make it run normal. Even then, visual effects won't enable, and games won't run, because apparently the "hardware device cannot be found". My attempts to revert back to old drivers have been unsuccessful; It says it's running the recommended right now, but I still have all these problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Karmic with an NVIDIA GeForce 6600, normally at 1280x1024. Just during the past week, the resolution has started spontaneously changing to 1024x768, just after I type the password to login. I get the Ubuntu splash screen with the animated light thingy underneath, then the screen flickers and it goes to 1024x768. I have tried changing driver but this has no effect.
I then have to change it manually using the Nvidia X Server settings utility, which is fine. I can then save X settings into /etc/x11/xorg.conf but next startup it does exactly the same again. I have seen a lot of posts in which Ubuntu leaves users stuck in a low res, or even tries to put them into an unsupported res, but nothing quite like this. Is there a Gnome setting somewhere that defines screen res at startup??
I cannot find where i can change the startup sound for 9.10. Everywhere that i have read so far has me go to System->Preferences->Sound and there was supposed to be a tab there for logon and logout sounds. I do not have that tab in my sounds screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedGnumeric 1.10.1. I tried editing a .xls spreadsheet with gnumeric and I came across the message "operation not supported".
I tried running Gnumeric from terminal to see if there was any more info regarding the save, but it just outputted that one message "Operation not supported" and that was it.
The .xls file is on another partition so I figured maybe Ubuntu mounted the partition in read-only, but no - I can edit other documents on the partition.
I right clicked on the .xls file to see the permissions and it says Owner Group and Others are all read+write.
I uninstalled and reinstalled gnumeric, but no change.
I have noticed a few problems when some screenlets are loaded before some others. I think that "Startup Applications Preferences" should have an option to arrange the order of their execution.

One of the greatest things about Linux, ( I'm currently using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) is your ability to install more than one version of java. Ubuntu, and by default, comes loaded with OpenJdk, which is an open source version of Java. As I stated in a previous discussion, I had some issues to run glassfish with the OpenJdk, so I decided to install the "closed" version of Java directly from Sun microsystem's website ( Hosted by oracle nowadays).
After downloading the latest Java development kit(JDK) which also includes the Java Runtime Envirnonment (JRE), I installed it from the terminal. The java file I downloaded was a ".bin" file. I have explained in the previous discussion, how to install a .bin file.
The installer will extract all the contents of the ".bin" file to a folder in the same directory as of the ".bin" file. Assuming that you have extracted the contents of the ".bin" file to a folder on your Desktop called JAVA6, then the path to this folder would be:
/Desktop/JAVA6
after that go to your terminal window and do the following: sudo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/java" "java" "/Desktop/JAVA6/bin/java" 1
Then issue the following command:
sudo update-alternatives --set Desktop/JAVA6/bin/java
This should set your newly installed java as your default JVM and JRE.
I'm using in the server 8.4 and installed the package startupmanager which is GUI, through this package I can show the text during boot, unlike in the 9.10, I checked the "show the text during boot" same I did in the 8.4 bu It's not showing the text and still show the splash...
how to change it direct from shell instead of the stupid GUI
It takes about 30 seconds for the desktop to 'fully load'. When I login I see my background, but nothing else. Then you wait 30 seconds and you see the panels appear. Is there any way to fix this lag, and make it an instant load? Cause really it should not take that long to load a panel with not really anything on it.
