Ubuntu :: Apt-get Source Baobab Is Not Working?

Jan 2, 2010

I am not sure why this isn't working. I have source code checked off in software repositories, and I see deb-src lines in sources.list. They are not commented. I'd like to recompile the deb and enable "move to trash" from the right click menu.$ apt-get source baobab Reading package lists... DoneBuilding dependency treeReading state information... Software :: Deleting Directories With Baobab - Also Known As Disk Usage Analyzer

Jan 29, 2010

I noticed on a couple of my friend's computers, the baobab with Fedora and Arch Linux was able to delete folders by right clicking on them. The Baobab with Ubuntu does not have that feature. I then looked at then obtained the source code and ran ./configure --help, and saw nothing about enabling that feature.

Ubuntu Security :: Any Kernel Source To Get Sebek 2.6.32 Working?

Nov 12, 2010

A while back there was a lkm called sebek, which is designed to work in a honeypot for finding and studying internet hackers, but its very outdated and wont work with newer 2.6 kernels. Anyone know of any projects currently in the works to mod the kernel source to get it it work again? I know it's easily detected but thought that someone might still be working on somewhere.

Ubuntu :: Autofs Has Suddenly Stopped Working - Finding Source ?

May 23, 2011

After several days of searching, reading and re-installing, I'm at a complete loss as to why autofs has suddenly stopped working.

Basically, I can see the shared folders on the host computer but as soon as I try to cd into the folders I get "-bash: cd: [directory]: No such file or directory" (where [directory] = shared drive.

The setup used to work and the exact same setup on another computer computer works flawlessly.

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04

Here is the content of auto.cifs:

Code:

Here is the content of auto.master

When I do "ls -l /home/shoryuken/TerraDrive/goblin" I get:

Now if I try to "cd" into any of the shared drives (like D-Drive, GW_Share or TerraDrive) I get the following:

Code:

A second or subsequent attempt at "ls -l" results in:

Code:

Note the question marks that are now everywhere.

I'm not sure where to look to find out why this is failing. The shared drive are visible, but then disappear when I try to access them. The same exact setup, on another machine works perfectly fine.

But the source or the dot operator (shell is bash) does not seem to take any effect as the subsequent command didn't pick the environment up. Do I have to put every lines of the environment setup in the first script into the makefile instead?

Software :: Source Installation Not Working Correctly In Mandriva 2010.0 Pp?

Jun 5, 2010

So I just installed Mandriva and was trying to install alien so I don't have to deal with source anymore. This happened, tried other sources and the same error. Maybe I'm overlooking something simple, but this is killing me.

so, First I wget (url for alien). It finishes.

Then, I start the installation

Code:
me@localhost ~]$ tar xvzf alien_8.1.1.tar.gz
me@localhost ~]$ cd alien
that takes me to where it should. then

[Code]....

Am I doing something wrong with this? Why is the ./configure not recognized?

Software :: Where Is The Source Codes For The Open Source Drivers For Each Distros

Jan 2, 2009

We all know we can install a linux system such as Fedora 10 and use it. Being linux, one should in principle get the source codes for everything that has been precompiled (except the proprietary drivers such as nvidia) in the installation DVDs/CDs. Where are the source codes ? Is there a place I can download them ?
To avoid confusion, I am not referring to the kernel source that can be compiled to give a linux kernel, but that does not include the drivers, such as intel_drv.so.

To be more specific, the intel graphic i810 driver has been built into any linux system, but where is the exact source? One answer may be that primary source intellinuxgraphics.com. However, if anyone tries to download the every changing (i.e., keep updated almost every single day) driver source codes from freedesktop.org, it is almost certain that the source codes will not be the same as the one that is finalized in Fedora 10.

Ubuntu :: -cp Recursive But Ignore Some Source

Jul 4, 2010

I'm still trying to learn, but seem to be hitting a few walls when it comes to man pages. I don't know where else to look so I hope to get some help here - or at least another idea. I'm trying to learn c++ as well as *nix terminal commands, and I like to make a backup of my compiled program and .c files each time I reach a successful compile (99-100% bug free).

My problem is I like to use an alias instead of a script to backup my work onto a USB. I don't want the hundreds of log files (10K+) copied since I usually delete them anyway.

My alias:

How do I tell cp to ignore the folder '~/work/log' during the backup?

If cp doesn't have such an option, I am open to other ideas, but I would still prefer something that I can alias since I already backup my .bash_aliases file.
