View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install NachOS on fedora, i make a nachos directory and download the nachos source code and cross compiler, then i extract the zip files and patch the make files and everything is okay till now. but when it comes to compiling nachos, i followed these steps.
* ~/nachos> cd NachOS-4.0
* ~/nachos/NachOS-4.0> cd code/build.linux
* ~/nachos/NachOS-4.0/code/build.linux> make depend

Which is correct?Then I need to have ~JPEG and ~zlib to place in /usr/bin/ or inside of certain folders to use.To make sure it is ok; I put both of them in both of the indicated places. I assume it is going to work.Now, I am suppose to build and install. I am not sure how to do it with the command "xmkmf" and not sure where to run this command.I am doing all of this in terminal.

I know how to load first 512 bytes from some patition by chainloader and load grub2, but what I need is to load directly grub2 core without passing by bootstriping code (first 512 bytes).So, my first boot manager is grub4dos, then I can load grub2 and later I load Ubuntu. But I think I have to edit --set-root
What I dont know is how.
In hdd 0,7 (sda8) I have Ubuntu 10.10 and /boot/grub/core.img is in sda8 (hd0.7)
