View 7 Replies View RelatedThis may be elementary to some, and prolly should to me. Quiet awhile ago I took off wine and deleted EVERYTHING wine from my /home. Now I want to try wine again, and I know it's installed, but it don't show up in applications. I've tried "edit menus > revert" but that don't work. I hear wine has made some progress and don't want to format my /home partition.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried installing logmein in wine. It installed fine, but didn't work so I removed it. Its icons though, would not be deleted so I removed Wine entry in "Edit menus".
after this I purged wine, deleted /.wine and reinstalled, but the menu entries do not get reinstalled. I know how to make launchers, what I want is the interactive menus back (browse c, uninstall and programs)
I can navigate as per the route blow, right-click on the COD1 executable and start COD1. It works fine.
I'm using Ubuntu Maverick, and want to put a link into the Applications-WINE menu.
When browsing the WINE c: drive CoDSP.exe is situated in
Code:
/home/me/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Call of Duty/CoDSP.exe
How can I make the link in the menu?
I would like to edit the destination a launcher which opens a program using WINE. It is Applications >> Wine >> Programs >> World of Warcraft >> World of Warcraft. When I use Edit Menus to check the launcher properties I learn it is set as Type: Application, and Command: [URL]...How would I instead have it point directly at opening, with WINE, /home/dusf/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Wow.exe?
The -opengl argument shouldn't matter as I have it preconfigured to run with opengl in the config. If relevant, when I navigate to c:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/, and open Wow.exe manually, it opens using WINE automatically.
I installed "Gphoto" through "Synaptic Package Manager" twice and I can't find it anywhere under "Applications" drop down menu..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI feel shy asking this question but, 90% of the applications I install in Ubuntu (last release), do not show up later on in the applications menu, so I cant run them. I know it seems silly, but I can't find the way to handle this inconvenience. Is there a place (like Start> All programs in Windows), were I could find and run all the programs I install?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Fedora 15, Gnome Shell. Standard window decoration (Adwaita).
Some applications use one set of colors for drop-down menus; other applications use another set of colors.
Nautilus, e.g., uses a white / bright blue combination. Quodlibet and Firefox both use a greyish blue. see attached screenshots.
Are your Gnome applications also doing this sort of thing in Fedora 15 and Gnome Shell?
I have opened dolphin and some other application (avidemux, dolphin, firefox, etc). in the first window (dolphin) i have a file. i drag it to another window/application and if i release the left-button of mouse, the window/application of the drag destination become active (raise). is it any way to make it to come in front/top (active) once mouse is over window while still dragging, before releasing the mouse? there is "focus" stings (focus under mouse/raise with the delay) in "windows Behavior". the focus under mouse is working fine, but is not working while dragging. it would be very handy to see where i drop the file, especially if i only see a small partition of the destination window, which is behind other windows.

I have a windows app installed under wine. It works fine. However, it has the ability to launch openoffice to do further functions. Obviously I have openoffice installed under linux, but the wine app cannot see it. How can I make the wine app see across the emulation layer into linux to see the app it needs? Dont tell me I need to install openoffice under wine as well to get it to work!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was any way to remove icons from the installed applications menu?I recently attempted to install GOG.com's Zork Anthology using Wine and when I de-installed, the icons for those files were still listed in installed applications. Is there anyway to delete them manually?

On any video I play, the picture is on top of the drop down menus for the player so they can't be seen- they drop down and work and can see the parts that are to the sides of the video picture. This happens on every video player I have tried -Movie player GNOME MPlayer, VLC. The image that shows the problem had to be taken with a camera as using the screen capture looked as though the video picture wasn't even there (image also attached)

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I right-click on firefox, the menu that appears is sometimes quite long depending on where on the screen I click, and usually the top option dissappears under that top Panel of Gnome shell, so that I have to guess and click on the panel to get an "Open in New Tab" (which is usually my first option.) Is there a way to make it remain within the visible area or something? I'm on Fedora 15 64-bit.
