Jul 4, 2010Recently the menus in Firefox will no longer drop down when I click on them. I also can't activate them by using the keyboard shortcut.

Fedora :: Firefox Drop Down Menu In Gnome 3?
Sep 8, 2011When I right-click on firefox, the menu that appears is sometimes quite long depending on where on the screen I click, and usually the top option dissappears under that top Panel of Gnome shell, so that I have to guess and click on the panel to get an "Open in New Tab" (which is usually my first option.) Is there a way to make it remain within the visible area or something? I'm on Fedora 15 64-bit.

Ubuntu :: Video Obscuring Drop Down Menu?
Sep 18, 2010On any video I play, the picture is on top of the drop down menus for the player so they can't be seen- they drop down and work and can see the parts that are to the sides of the video picture. This happens on every video player I have tried -Movie player GNOME MPlayer, VLC. The image that shows the problem had to be taken with a camera as using the screen capture looked as though the video picture wasn't even there (image also attached)

May 14, 2010Sound continues to drop out of flash in firefox. Reinstalling flash will bring it back, but it will drop out next browser session. All audio works in other applications. Skype, Last.fm, Rhythmbox, Amarok, Movie Player, etc. Even downloaded swf files will play sound. It's just in firefox, from what I can see so far. I don't know if Steve Jobs flying overhead in a black helicopter has anything to do with it, but perhaps.

Aug 7, 2011This is a problem I had in Ubuntu some years ago that just seemed to go away; sporadically I will want to select a website by positioning the cursor over the drop-down arrow to the right side of the url box- after the list is displayed it will vanish immediately when I attempt to position the cursor over it to make a selection. Minimizing then maximizing Firefox resolves it.
A minor problem yes - but it would be nice to not have to deal with it.

Jun 19, 2010I recently installed virtual box on debian and after it had finished my terminal informed me that I could remove some "unnecessary" software by use of sudo apt-get autoremove. When I did this, some of the icons on the desktop changed and all of the icons in the drop down menu on the bar at the top of the screen also changed to ordinary folder symbols. The theme that I was using also went away. I restarted the computer and it booted back into a shell prompt with no GUI. I tried to get back to the GUI using alt+f7 but it didn't seem to exist

Aug 24, 2010Firefox 3.6.8 is freezing whenever I click a menu item. It locks up for about 25 seconds before continuing. It does this even in safe mode, or if all the addons and extentions are disabled. I have even tried deleting and creating a new profile. Chrome works fine. Also, on another login account, firefox is working fine!

Oct 8, 2010I just upgraded to Maverick this afternoon, and have run into one very small, but very annoying problem.
Since upgrading, the text color for the Firefox menu is black. This makes it unreadable/invisible using probably the majority of personas. I have been able to find no way of changing this color. This was not an issue in Lucid.
There have been other threads on this subject, some of which suggest editing a userChrome.css file. I have edited that file, but upon restarting Firefox, the changes I have made revert back to what they had been before I made my edits.
I have also fiddled around with trying to change all manner of GTK settings, but still nothing has had any influence. I logged into a Gnome session, as well, but was still unable to remedy this.

Jul 5, 2011I am using firefox 5.0 under ubuntu 11.04. I have attached the screenshot of my firefox window. There is no menubar, no title bar, no close, minimize, maximize buttons. I am sure I am not in fullscreen mode.Moving the mouse to the top left corner does not bring out the launcher. Pressing Alt+Tab does not bring out window selection dialog (to switch to another application). I killed firefox from tty1 and restarted firefox. The problem persists.
