View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried burning media files as data into a DVD (-R). Failed every time. It simulates the burn, and when it starts burning it sometimes ejects the media and at other times just says that it cannot eject the DVD and that it has to be done manually. After the DVD is ejected it errors out.Attaching the log file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've previously been able to copy CDs using Brasero. Now when I try, the program will copy the disk, but instead of pausing to allow you to insert the destination disk, it will simply eject the disk and then quit. I can copy disks by selecting 'copy to image' and then burning the image, but this is a pain.

I managed to delete the Volume Applet that appears by default on the task bar. I'm sure it used to be listed in 'Add to Panel' in other version of Ubuntu however I can't see it there in 10.04.
Can someone explain to me how I get it back?
running lucid and whatever updates are current.Im attempting to burn a avi to dvd format with brasero, but when i hit "burn" brasero sais "ejecting disc" and says that an internal error has occurred. the saved log is blank.any thoughts? i have dvd author and the error message doesnt appear until the disc has ejected. but really it should not be ejecting if it is going to perform a burn.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to burn an iso file to my DVD-r, i use brasero and yesterday have upgraded to 10.10 NBR (UBUNTU RULES- I HAVE HAD IT FOR 2 YRS!) when i click on the 'burn image' tab on the brasero menu all is well but then when i click the properties and click on 2.0x speed (my friends drive can't read anything set any higher than 2.0x) it does not save that property and it goes and burns at much higher speeds like 3.4X. p.s does anyone know how to get rid of the deleted items icon on the 10.10 NBR menu
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to burn tracks that total to 80-82 minutes on 80min CDs. However, Brasero stops the burning process right at the start complaining there is not enough space on the CD. I tried having Brasero create an image and burn it with k3b. However, Brasero creates a .cue and a .bin file, but when loading the .cue file, k3b says that it does not seem to be a valid image, even when selecting ".cue/.bin image" or "audio cue file" as the image type. k3b itself refuses to burn .mp3 files without manual conversion. what should I do to achieve my goal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedLately, I have found that I have to go back to Vista (yes, old Vista no one loves) to burn an iso file on to a CD-RW. Brasero simply don't even see the CD-RW to even blank it, let alone burn the new iso file. I am using Ubuntu 10.04. As I have Debian 6 (gnome and KDE) I tried the same CD-RW, but neither Brasero, nor KDE's K3B 'saw' the CD-RW.But, the in that Vista, the CD/ISO burning software 'saw' the CD-RW without fail. Btw, this same problem happens with Unetbootin. Linux Unetbootin works worse than the Vista Unetbootin! Now, I have to use Vista to burn CD/DVD/Isos.Is there a some special problem with Linux burning software? I know that some developers are not happy with Brasero,

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm planning to begin using K3B to burn backup data DVDs. Brasero kinda disappoints as burning software. It can't verify the data after a burn. It only offers the maximum burn speed. It doesn't off options like Disk At Once and Track At Once. K3B is oriented towards KDE. Are there any other GNOME burning choices than Brasero?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI see there are a lot of other threads on this subject, but I don't find any solution in the other threads. I have been trying to burn cd's directly in Ubuntu, using Brasero, which was already installed. Why does it not work? It says that an "unknown error occurred" or something like that. I don't remember the exact error message right now. I am now burning cd's in "Gnomebaker" which I found in the applications list. This works fine, but only at the speed of 4x, no faster. I hope to get the brasero application to work, as this is the easiest, fastest way, just dragging files to the cd.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a system backup ISO with remastersys that's about 3.4 GB, and I've repeatedly had failure and about 4 coasters now with both K3b and Brasero trying to burn it. I even ditched the original ISO and made another- same problem.I have always had problems burning discs in both programs, and of all the times I've tried to burn anything with either, I've gotten errors near the end of the data check stage, in verifying the data burned. I'm really tired of this, and I need this ISO perfect to reinstall my OS on a new laptop harddrive. This time it's K3b. It burned successfully, but I get errors in the data verification stage. Here's what I got:

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I popped in a blank CD, opened up brasero, told it to create a new video project, added my files.... It told me to install vcdimager, so I did that and restarted brasero. I then told it to burn the video files to the disk as an (S)VCD. It began converting the files before the burn. After the conversion was complete, it gave the message "ejecting medium" and then it ejected the disk. After that, it said it encountered and error and wouldn't do anything from there. I tried a different CD, I tried just closing the disk drive. It just gives me the same error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNo problems with CD-RW, but DVD+RW are being blanked in an incorrect way. Ubuntu cannot recognize them at all after the blanking. I have to take the disks to another computer having Windows installed to blank them via Nero, and after that I they become OK for burning in Ubuntu via Brasero. I've got an old LG CD/DVD drive which was working fine in Windows. Who can recommend another program for CD/DVD burning for Ubuntu 10.04? (correctly blanking, certainly) I have installed the suggested updates for Brasero but of no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to copy a CD with Brasero. Brasero said: "All required applications and libraries are not installed. Please install manually and try again:
toc2cue (application)

Ignoring that each was listed twice, I first ran sudo apt-get update on the terminal, then ran
sudo apt-get install cdrdao
I tried another copy operation, but this time:
The error message for a missing toc2cue was no longer there, but there were still 2 error messages for a missing cdrdao, which I had just installed! I tried installing cdrdao again; but got the message that the latest cdrdao was already installed. I tried installing toc2cue but got the message that it could not be found. how I can get cdrdao to be recognized and toc2cue to get installed?
I am using Brasero 2.30.2 on Ubuntu 10.04. The problem is that whenever I use Brasero to burn any CD/DVD, it burns it but refuses to eject, although I always select the option to eject disk after burning. Instead, it displays a message saying something like "Please eject the disk manually to finish the burning process".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI really don't know what to say or begin, my drive was working fine and then I installed dvdshrink via Wine and backed up a DVD using Brasero to burn the image created. However, upon completing the copy and trying a new disk it wouldn't read it at all other than recognizing it's there in places, the desktop, and with a startup window. But nothing will play it, making it very frustrating since it had worked prior to completing the burn. I don't get it
View 4 Replies View RelatedBrasero is a great application in general, but one thing has always annoyed me: When I rip a disc to an image file, it is always called "brasero.iso" by default. Is there some way I can configure Brasero to automatically use the disc's volume label as the *.iso filename? I'm tired of having to type a filename each time, or else go back later, figure out what it's an image of, and rename it in Nautilus.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used a bootable usb (Ubuntu 10.10) to backup files from an infected windows machine. I made backup DVD's using Brasero and disabled full windows compatibility when burning them to disc. The really dumb part was I didn't check the DVD's before I reinstalled windows on the drive I was backing up. They were all there, I assumed they were ok. The files on the DVD's (mix of doc, xls, jpg, etc.) won't open in windows or Linux. Anybody know of a way to recover them? From what I've been reading, it seems like I'm screwed, but I thought I'd check with the experts. Is there a specific way Brasero/Linux changes the file, and can that info can be used to change it back? I assume it just cuts the name/header to 64 characters and I'm SOL. I'm going to see what diskdoctor's recovery software can get back from the hard drive.
