Ubuntu :: Volume Missing / Get It Back?
Jun 27, 2010I have no volume control on my top panel. I did not delete it, at least I do not think so, but now I cannot find a way to get it back. Anyone know how to get it? Maybe a restart?

Feb 24, 2010The Volume control and network manager icons are not visible in the notification area..
I sure its has nothing to do with
Add to panel-->Notification area....beacuse the notification area is already there..
but the icons are not visible
the only way that I can make the visible is by typing code...
for volume control.. Only then they become visible in the notification area
Both, the network manager and volume control are mentioned in the "Start-up programs"

I managed to delete the Volume Applet that appears by default on the task bar. I'm sure it used to be listed in 'Add to Panel' in other version of Ubuntu however I can't see it there in 10.04.
Can someone explain to me how I get it back?

Also I use uTorrent in win and the utorrent logo use to go into the panel, but now it loads in a separate window label wine system tray. I have searched around and have not found a fix for this.

Jun 4, 2010I did the latest patch/update to lucid this morning and it would appear that my Volume control has gone missing from the task bar. There doesn't seem to be a volume control in Applications > Sounds & Video either. I am sure this has to do with the patch upgrade that I installed as everything was working fine before. For that matter, I had no system sounds either and it took a power off reboot for that to come back. My Music program (atunes) is not working properly either and keeps locking up. How do I reverse this patch or get my system back to a functional state?

And now all that happens when I add the indicator applet to the panel is that the text: "No indicators" pops up where the mail/chat applet was before. Is there a way to get the volume applet back into the panel?
