I managed to delete the Volume Applet that appears by default on the task bar. I'm sure it used to be listed in 'Add to Panel' in other version of Ubuntu however I can't see it there in 10.04.
Can someone explain to me how I get it back?
I was trying to get suspend and hibernate on my shutdown menu and I removed it from the panel with the intention of adding it back, hopefully with the suspend and hibernate choices on it.
How do I get the shutdown menu back on the panel?
If I don';t get it back then how do I shut down?
My weather applet on the gnome panel disappeared and I cannot add it back i.e. when I go to "add to panel" and choose to add "Weather report" nothing happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI feel little silly asking this, I accidently removed from my gnome panel my internet connection, volume control and battery indicator on F11. how can I add this back. It does not show up in the add to panel menu and the applications do not give you back the default feel.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHad ubuntu for a few years left came back last month. I lost the indicator applet in the panel. I don't know what I did to get it back. I feel like this is a very very simple thing to fix but I just can't find it. Here is a pic of what i'm talking about.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to default volume to 100% in the terminal with gnome-volume-control-applet or any other program? I am setting up a dedicated Zsnes machine which boots into Fluxbox but the volume is muted by default. There isn't a man page for gnome-volume-control-applet.
When I log into Gnome the volume is set to 100%, but Fluxbox is always set to mute.
Someone on the forums had me uninstall pulseaudio to get pSX working, and now I don't have a volume control icon on the panel and when choosing to add stuff to the panel it isn't available.I re-installed pulseaudio through the package manager, but I have a feeling it didn't install everything that uninstalled with it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo for some reason... I can't seem to re-add my volume applet to my panel after I deleted it, on my karmic install
It used to be listed under "Volume"-something, in the "Add to Panel" window, but it's disappeared.....
I am missing a volume/sound applet for the GNOME panel. The only way to do this I found is the indicator applet, but this also shows an email icon which takes up space and does not seem to be removable. I do not want that networking stuff and I use Thunderbird as my email client. So, is there a way to just get a volum applet?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe sound works and all. Plus there's an empty space which seems like there use to be an icon there. I have an ICEauthority error when I turn on my computer.

View 2 Replies View Relatedafter the upgrade I lost the wifi for AP's thing between the volume control and the mail icon. How do I get it back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have such an annoying problem that I really don't know how to fix! Basically for some reason the nm-applet icon just doesn't sit in the panel anymore, but it's floating on the desktop as a normal application. Restarting/reinstalling it doesn't solve the problem, it's still out of the panel. With any theme I use. It's a pretty fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.10 on a MacBook Pro, so there are no particular customizations. The only workaround I found is installing wicd, but I'm really not familiar with it and want to get rid of it.
View 3 Replies View Relatedin Gnome, every applet has an ugly handle to its left, some themes have it more ugly than others.Where can I find an option to disable the handles? in the theme rc file? if so, where exactly?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn the process of removing all hints of KDE from my system I accidentally uninstalled on of my panel applets. It is the one that says the users full login name and allows you to control gwibber status and empathy availability.I know it's kinda OCD but my desktop looks weird without it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlright, at first, the volume control went missing from the indicator applet, but then re-adding it to the panel didn't do anything but add a mail/chat applet. So I tried to reset the indicator applet settings with this code...
And now all that happens when I add the indicator applet to the panel is that the text: "No indicators" pops up where the mail/chat applet was before. Is there a way to get the volume applet back into the panel?
I was wondering if there is some ind of way of removing the rhythmbox link in the volume menu in the indicator applet..It's just that I hardly use it and it's pretty annoying and redundant as well having it there. I don't want to get rid of the volume menu completely nor of rhythmbox. I just want the link gone from there. Actually it never was there until I decided to open it once. After that day, it wouldn't go, no matter how I would exit the program. I didn't have this problem in 10.04. It's just in 10.10.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy microphone wasn't working so I entered alsamixer to amp up it's volume and see what's wrong. Not sure what I did wrong but now the gnome volume control applet in the Indicator does not affect system volume at all.I can even mute it and it will not mute anything. The volume controls in alsamixer work fine and changing the volume in alsamixer affect system volume immediately. What could I have done? How can I get back volume control inside gnome?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe nm-applet which allows me to log onto wireless networks (and show status), has disappeared from my upper panel. How do I get this back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to put an applet exactly in the middle of my Gnome Panel, I can't do it manually as the applet size varies so I need a way to put it in the middle always. The applet is dockbarX (a window list) so when I open or close a window the size of the applet changes and then it's not in the middle. Here you are an screenshot of what I'm talking about:[URL]..
